Great clear video! I have had a Parlux 1300 since 1990 (!!), and it died on me yesterday...For something that has lasted for 3/4 of my entire life (I am 44 years old), I am definitely going for the same brand. But the choice is staggering! So your video really helped me out 😊 I will go with the 385 Light, as weight is very important to me, and also too much wattage might not be the best in my house - It is a French stone house from 1920, with electrics from ca 1970, and already the Parlux 1300 could never run at full strength from these sockets 😵💫
Thank you for the helpful summary 😊 Are you able to include a noise comparison in future? Are the decibels listed anywhere for parlux models? I started using earplugs from the hardware store years ago to protect against hearing loss a few years ago, and find its more comfortable.
Hello, is it possible to compare with babyliss pro 4artists bab7500ie with ferrari motor and 10000 hours motor life?) Thank you!) Thinking between helios, aylon, and babyliss bab7000ie.. which one can do more shiny hair and faster drying) your videos the most helpful from others!!
hello, im a barber & im interested in the parlux ardent "barber" dryer, was wondering if anyone can tell me the decibel levels for this dryer in low & high? thanx
I have 385 since 12 years, i use it every single week for blow dry so i can say it last more than 2200 hours 😂 2 days ago my son broke it 😢, so i'm thinking if i buy the same or i choose another model from Parlux. Thank you for your video it did help me.
Dear Kristy, I need to buy a new dryer but I can't decide between Ghd Helios and Parlux alyon. I have long thin and frizzy hairs.. which one is better for me in your opinion? Thanks a lot in advance Valentina
I've had my parlux for 12 years and it only just gave in now... Started smoking out the back and I threw it out. On the hunt for new one, hence why I'm here
I bought the helios thinking I’d love it but it just didn’t have the power I thought it would for my long thick hair. I see the Parlux Aylon is much more powerful than 1875 watts which is what the helios is. Is the difference between the two in terms of the blowing power a big difference?
The Helios has less power but has a very different motor which relies less on power, which is why I find it actually dries my hair quicker than traditional ceramic dryers! Alyon is a traditional motor and a higher wattage, another option is the Elchim dryer which has one of the highest watts I've ever used (and is kind to the hair!).
Hi this video was so helpful :) could I just ask if what the length of the Alyon is? I know the other super compact one is 17cm and I’m just wondering if it the same as I can’t find the information anywhere online!! Thank you :) xx
Would you recommend a parlux aylon or a ghd helios for a consumer? I have an idea that the Ghd would be heavier but would give a smoother result on my curly hair....
Personally, I use the Helios as I really love the finish it gives me. The Alyon is much lighter in weight so it depends which is more important for you!
A lot depends too on which country you’re in. Customer service varies depending on the country. In the USA, GHD customer service is fantastic while Parlux is difficult to reach. That being said, both are excellent hairdryers. Both are having sales now so check them both out. I’ll add my comments this week when my Helios arrives. Without Kristy’s reviews I would have been lost.
@@KristyJoan Interesting. What kind of finish are we talking about? I am also choosing between GHD (air) and aylon...I have fine dark hair and would like to have more volume. The drying time doesn't really concern me though.
Thks for review. People must be careful as there are fake Parlux circulating. It looks like the real one but it isn't. Therefore rather purchase from salon then you know you getting the real deal
@@chenelled6086 no not yet. I think I am going to get the Alyon soon though as I’ve been thinking about it for ages. You can get i noise reducer that attaches to the back of it. I have the Parlux one below the Alyon and it’s very good but the Alyon is better and faster I think. I’m just not sure about the Dyson I’ve heard people say it dries out their hair but others absolutely love it
I have had a couple parlux dryers since I went to beauty school over ten years ago . They dry my hair so fast ! But their motor does die for me very soon . Has anyone else noticed this ?
Great video. You answered more questions than Parlux USA did for me. And thank you so much for getting this video out so fast. The main problem with Parlux USA is trying to speak to customer service. I’ve been trying for about a month with no reply to messages I’ve left. And my emails are just responded to with cut and paste from their web site. Recently I sent an email to Parlux and GHD saying that I’ve tried to contact them several times by phone with no luck and it would be great if I could speak to someone about some product questions that haven’t been answered through emails. Only GHD sent me an email requesting my phone number, time and day to contact me. GHD spoke with me for over 30 minutes. I’ll be ordering the GHD Helios do to their customer service this week.
That's so disheartening to hear about Parlux! In Australia the supplier for Parlux is really great BUT, GHD is such a big company that rely on consumer customer service so I can see how that happened. Let me know what colour Helios you get! I have a black but I think the white is my fave!
@@KristyJoan I bought the ink blue Helios. I also got the wide concentrator nozzle. I’ll let you know what I think of the Helios after it arrives and have used it. Now I just need to buy a couple of new hair brushes lol.
@@KristyJoan just got my Helios yesterday and totally love it! It’s even lighter than I thought it would be. It’s powerful, easy to maneuver, and beautiful. I’m very happy with my choice. Thanks for all your help Kristy.
@@KristyJoan thank you for your reviews. I am picking a hair dryer for my girlfriend. She has frizzy hair. Which model would you recommend from Parlux or GHD? What would be your go-to option?
I definitely will take that on board, however with most new dryers the sound is not a great indicator of power as they usually have silencers (most people want quieter dryers but still have power)!

Fantastic review, got the Parlux Alyon in jade for my nice 😍
Thank you for your review, I order the Alyon with the holiday sale. I’m getting it tomorrow, cannot wait!
How do you like it ?
On the Parlux why does the dryer turn on if you use the top switch as this are the heat switch, can any one help me?
This is an old video of this brand. Have you considered comparing these to the newer Digitalyon?
I’m curious too
Have you tried gamma+ dual ionic hairdryer? I like to hear how that compares to the Parlux
did u get any info about this?

Thanks heaps for this review. Do you know if the nozzles are interchangeable?
Hey! The nozzles are usually not interchangeable as the shapes are usually a bit different!
Why did you not do Parlux 3500
SO very helpful, thank you lovely x

I'm looking at the GHD Air, Helios or Parlux Aylon.. which would be best for low frizz, light in weight and loudness? Thanks!

All other hair-dryers are 18cm

Do you know any suggestions about parlux 3500 ? I am thinking to buy it because I have to carry with me also , so you think is the lightest than 385?
