Gudimellanka - Prayaga Rangadasa - Prince Rama Varma

Varmaji's intrepid spirit strikes again! Prince Rama Varma has always invested a lot of his time, energy and efforts to bring to light, lesser heard compositions by a host of composers whom he loves dearly.
Recently he discovered the tiny village Gudimellanka in rural Andhra Pradesh where the great Prayaga Rangadasa was born. Here is a small and heart warming video from that trip.
Gudimellanka is quite close to both Antharvedi and Amalapuram and the scenery there is just stunning! Lush green paddy fields, coconut trees, small streams, the mighty Godavari....all reminiscent of how Kerala used to be, half a century ago.

Varmaji ... Thanks a lot for introducing us(the telugu people) our songs which were neglected by us... I really appreciate the way you acknowledge the creators of these songs. In movies some of these songs like "petrayi Sami demudaa " became popular without mentioning the writers greatness. Thanks a lot for all these melodies sir. I feel like visiting this temple immediately which is very close to our native place and shamefully we don't know about it .
