Wow! I almost passed on looking at this video because I was searching for a video to help me build a slide out table that would be made to slide out from under the bed frame. I am so glad I gave this a look because I have now changed my mind and I want a table like this in my van build. Much less hassle than building a table that slides out from the top of the fixed bed frame! Thank you so so much! I love this!
I've been looking at the lagun table leg for awhile, but really didn't want to spend $200+ on it. Happened upon your video and just finished it up in my van. Love it!
Was so happy to find this video. I did this using your youtube video. I took the old table out from my bench seat area which had legs that were a trip hazard, but didn't want to lose the bed platform. So, I made a table top with the pipe function you showed to be my rotating table and then cut another piece to fill in the back side that could be used to make it more of a booth concept (sitting in back and on sides). This back piece also can serve as a place to put like your phone or purse or something if there are only 1-2 people in the camper. The rotating table top can be unscrewed from the pipe and then I can completely remove the pipe and put it under the seat. The table top then slides onto the two supports on the bench seats and then the extra cushion along with a cushion made for the back piece are put in place to still make a bed. Genius. Thanks for sharing your build. In addition, I added a hole all the way through my pipe and the PVC holder at the bottom of the pipe so I could put a cotter type pin through it to stop it from rotating while travelling on road.
I've been looking for "swiveling table legs" forever and you just saved me hundreds of dollars with your design! Thank you!! Simple design, great video, easy to follow... I'm off to home depot!
Good video and project! The parts are easy, the challenge is locating the leg. A lot of videos show the mistakes (and holes) people make while they experiment and try to figure out the location because of how it moves. People have to do this part slowly, figure where they will sit, if it needs to swing in a circle or not, where it rests, what it hits on the way, etc.
Enjoyed the video very much. Possibly one of the best DIY vlog on youtube. Well edited and so informative, you got natural talent in front of the camera.
I am 72 sold land, pond, house and headaches like weedeating, mowing, taxes, water and electric bills. I purchased a used RV and moved to a park where water..electricity are included in monthly rent!! I live alone and removed the built in dining table bed combo and crappy fold out couch. Took out the built in bed and turned that room into closet-laundry. The only problem "WAS" my dining table. But your video has put the finishing touch I needed to complete my retirement home! I looked at all the options, but if RV, camper are mentioned when shopping the cost is increased. Your design is great and cost effective. The options I looked at for manufactured devices would have needed altering to fit my needs..dining and bed side table combo.. Your video is the best I have seen as I use utube for all my info on the projects or repairs I tackle! THANK YOU... If any one is considering full time RV life at a permanent address, I would do what I can to help.
I just made this ! It is the project I am most proud of! Thank you so very much for sharing this video and explaining how to make it in terms that everyone can understand
Thank you for, getting to the point of the video, not having loud time wasting intro, explaining the problem and the thought process to get where you got to and a very affordable solution. And yea, good speaking voice.
Very clever design and thoughtful execution. In the end, simple perfection. I think that a huge benefit is that you can leave it installed by rotating it over the seat at night and the bed during the day.
Hi again. Ray here. I have finally finished my swing-out table. It works perfectly. The difference with mine is that it is in my little trailer. I had very little room to maneuver. Perhaps less than you have in the van. I had to put it further out as our bed is a Queen size convertible to a smaller bed with seats on each side. The only problem I had is that I had to use PVC for the upright, and I couldn't find screws that fit properly. I had to use #14 X 1" and grind the tip off so it wouldn't go through the formica table top. #16 X 3/4" screws would be perfect. But after all that I have finally finished. I love it. Thank you so much for sharing this for us.
Great video! These huge and service friendly home depot stores in the US is something I miss in Europe. In these videos, it's just like: just go there, by this and that and that, ask staff to help you with x and you are good to go. Pipes and bars just magically fit and - wow - you have someone there to cut and modify your metal bar! Here, I am hard-pressed to find a store where they cut anything for you, some keep a handsaw ready for DIY.
Love it! How simple and creative. Thank you for explaining all parts, sizes and assembly instructions. I always love campervan modification ideas, keep'em coming.
Great video thank you! I made this and it came out great. Here's a tip: Spray dry lubricant on the pipe since the PVC is only slightly larger than the pipe or else it will get stuck!
Costs a bit more now for the parts in 2022 ($74) but still way less then a Lagun table. I did end up using 1" pipe as it was the only way to find all parts that would fit together at least at one store. Seems quite sturdy enough but my table top is a little smaller, too. Easy to assemble and works great! Thanks all these years later :)
Perfect idea! I will use this in my build as the table was the last piece i couldn't figure out where to place. I wish the UK DIY stores had such a service a we see in this video. Thanks muchly and enjoy your van guys :-)
Thank you a MILLION.. I am very limited in space since I am running a expediter van. I really wanted a table but all I could find were drop down leafs. This is PERFECT as I truly wanted a table for the bed and for the kitchen. I can't wait to make it.
Absolutely brilliant idea and such a well explained video. I read the title and thought you were probably overselling this idea. How wrong was I? I'm so glad I found your video. I'm aware you posted this 4 years ago, so please accept my apologies for such a late comment, but only now contemplating a van conversion in the UK. You have helped me realise the table is now going to be so easy to install. Thanks again! 👍🏻
This is so perfect. I will be building this weekend. Thank you for the careful and detailed direction. You just made my van life a whole lot better. Blessings!!
Excellent design! Even the tabletop is easily made with some plywood and Formica if you don't have one to re-purpose. I'm a fan of plywood and Formica for countertops and tables in RVs. Light, durable, and easy to work with.
I was thinking of a way to improve your design. Don't get me wrong, it is amazing, but imagine if you could leave the foot in place. If you drill a horizontal hole in the bottom of the ABS pipe, about 5 inches from the bottom with a diameter of a pin/screw. This way, if you pull the pin out, the leg would drop lower than the bed height and can stay in place. Lift it up, insert the pin and you can use it as you currently do.
Thanks for this comment. I was trying to figure out how not to allow mine to swivel while I’m traveling or just not wanting it to move. I will just insert a hole through all of it and put like a cotter pin.
Absolutely brilliant...simple to build, excellent use of space. Very cleverly designed. Thanks a million. I'm remodeling a 1999 Rialta and I have a spot where that will work perfectly.
I am modifying my Class B to have a similar type bed to replace the rear sofa. I haven't used the table that came with the RV since I bought it. (5 years) It was too big, heavy and cumbersome. This will fit the bill perfectly for me and my needs. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, that was enormously helpful! I really enjoy these how-to videos, especially since you take the effort to explain each step and piece so carefully, so I hope you make more them.
This is one of the best instructional videos I've ever seen. It is not so nicely edited, and there are no computer animations, but hey, who needs CGI when we have GGC? lol. Thank you very much!
Would love to see the rebuild of the van. Have followed your journey and hope you continue to do some travel again. The new property especially the garden method was great. Told a friend who is starting a new garden on very soil about your garden. Again thanks.
That is just darn genius!! Don't know if you can file patents in Canada, but you should file for one and market that! What a great invention, (and yes, I enjoy your videos, as always!!)
Thanks! Your timing couldn't have been more prefect (selfishly speaking, anyway). :) I'm getting ready to move into my small travel trailer, which I'll be living in as I move to Alaska next month, and until I can get my own off-grid cabin going. My trailer has already been partially customized (also with permanent bed in place of the convertible dinette setup). Just yesterday, I was taking measurements, and thinking about how to create a workable table solution. With the ideas you've given me here, I'm going to create *two* different placement points, so that I can set up the swivel table in two different areas, depending on my preference of the moment. Simple, inexpensive, and elegant! :) I've been happily following your journey for about a year now, and I'm very grateful for all the useful information you've provided on any number of issues relevant to the planning I've been doing for my own project. I've also just enjoyed the two of you -- your positive energy and attitudes, your humor, and your generosity to share experiences and knowledge. Finally, I'm so happy for your new living situation, and wish you all the best moving forward! My WiFi availability may soon be a bit less regular, but whenever I have a connection, I'll be checking in on your progress. Thanks again! Be well!
Thanks for a great idea! I made a slight mod: mine was slipping around if in was on any kind of slope, so I added a thumb screw to the side. Now if I want to fix ti in a certain position, I'm just tighten the screw !
Great video! I'm in the UK and I need a swing out table I can fix to the B pillar behind the front passenger seat. I could buy one, with the 'cranked' leg, but they're very expensive, so now I know how to make my own! Thank you for passing on your idea's and expertise. Oh and I'm loving the Hugelkultur video's. Another inspiration for me :) Peace. Much love to you both. :)
Great Job with the table, My son has taken over my Roadtrek and I am now fixing to rehab a 1978 Dodge ULTRA High top van with a Queen size bed. So far I think its going to work very well. I wanted to see what you did for this table. Thanks Ho and yea, I would Love to see what you have done with your van.
Your fix up sounds like a lot of fun! I think out of all the renovations we did to our van Derricks table is one of my favourites. I do believe Derrick is planning to show some more van renovations in the future. :) Paula
I am very glad I found you and your advice. This is perfect for what I need. Perfect in its simplicity. Again, I'm so glad I found your video. Thank you
Though this was posted a while ago...it is a great table and instruction. For those that don't know types of pipe, the pipe he is using is standard black steel pipe not galvanized. The elbows are galvanized as is the flange. There is no reason galvanized pipe can't be used instead of black steel pipe. The galvanized pipe is less susceptible to rusting, as black pipe has no protective coating. Am thinking of using this design in my camper. Saved it to my RV Mods. Good video.
Genius! I looked for something like that. I will build that table in 2024 ;)
Thank you!
Thee most UNDERsold thing i have ever seen on YT. You Cannot improve that idea, in terms of functions. Soo well thought through. YOU SIR, KICK ASS!
Nice and simple. Great! One possible improvement: a bicycle seat locking device to adjust height.

Yes please do more how to videos on your builds. Also you have a very soothing voice and should be a book narrator.
So cool! I'm adapting this to make a bed table for an elderly person. I've been searching for this! Thanks!
Genius. Absolutely the best reproduction of the old Westy pivoting table that I have ever seen.
I've been looking at the lagun table leg for awhile, but really didn't want to spend $200+ on it. Happened upon your video and just finished it up in my van. Love it!
Same!
100% the solution I've been after for my build, you've no idea how many different ideas I've looked at for this. I owe you man, thanks!!
In van life everything should have dual purpose and that 26" pipe doubles as van/house defense.
Great vid dude!

So glad I found this video. This is what I have been looking for this for months. Simple & easy to follow for us newbs. LOVE IT!
Thanks for the very clear, simple, and straightforward explanation of how you both used and built this table. Thanks for sharing the knowledge!
FINALLY!!! A perfect and easy, cheap solution to my head scratching over making my table. Thanks so much for posting 🤗👍🤩
hard to believe you're the only one to do a DIY Lagun table; well done
Very clever design and thoughtful execution. In the end, simple perfection.

Hey Derrick, just sorted a converted peugeot boxer, and desperately needed a solution for the desk. You're a wizard, thanks for this demonstration!
Yes please do the van build video. I really love all your videos and I'm excited about the new adventures with your homestead too!
Love it! How simple and creative. Thank you for explaining all parts, sizes and assembly instructions. I always love campervan modification ideas, keep'em coming.
One of the very best diy videos I've seen on TH-cam !
Fantastic. You have just solved my problem for a fraction of the cost of off the shelf products
Great video thank you! I made this and it came out great. Here's a tip: Spray dry lubricant on the pipe since the PVC is only slightly larger than the pipe or else it will get stuck!

Efficient and well edited piece of video. Pretty sure you've solved one of the major problems of my planned build. Many thanks!
Watching "Adventures in Greyce" and they sent me here, best video EVER, really didn't want to fork out for a Lagun table, YIPPIE, THANK YOU.
your table is brilliant, prefectly explained. I did miss the lovely Miss Paula.

really enjoyed how you layed out the DIY with narration.
Supremely well done! I really enjoyed your video. I can't get enough of your camper van videos. Merry Christmas and be blessed, Michael
Derrick, thank you so much for this very clear tutorial. Love this table and hope to put something similar in my minivan.
Great idea and so well explained and demonstrated! I will be using your design in my van in Oz!
Great work on making a functional table and save space. Please post more.
Not only was the design genius, but the video was as well! 🙏
Love the simplicity and brilliance of the design.
Following your direction gave us an amazing table. Thanks so much for making this video!!

So elegant in its simplicity and functionality - I love this table! Thank you for sharing.
The best solution to the wobbly pedestal leg that comes in many campers, like my truck camper. Pure genius! Thanks for sharing.
Truly excellent video! That is the table fitting that I was looking for, very pleased to find this DIY video, many thanks! I need this in my RV.
Thanks so much for sharing this! We've been looking for alternatives to the Lagun mount and this looks like a great solution!
You are amazing and you have saved me over $300. I was looking at a Lagun table system but now I know that I can do it myself. Thank you.
Built and installed today. My wife and I love it. Great design, simple and strong. Thanks a bunch.
Thank you so much for sharing this table assembly. Best wishes and blessings in all you do!
Thanks, that was enormously helpful! I really enjoy these how-to videos, especially since you take the effort to explain each step and piece so carefully, so I hope you make more them.
2020 and you’re still helping people! Thank you 😊
2021 here! Thank you!
I made this for my Skoolie thanks to your clear directions!!
I am going to use your
Very clear table to make one for my tiny home.
Thank you so much.

This is exactly what I want to do with my van. Thanks for the great video.
Brilliant! Thanks so much for the easy to follow instructions.
Great video. I followed your instructions and built the same table with no problems. Love it. Keep posting please.
Awesome! I'm really glad it worked for you!
Perfect! Was looking for a inexpensive version of a Lagun Table to store behind the driver seat and you nailed it! Thank you!
What an AWESOME table! I felt like Homer Simpson when he sees donuts! Brilliant video, thanks.
Thanks Amy!
Awesome idea! Sorry for the 25 haters. But still many Likes. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! Your timing couldn't have been more prefect (selfishly speaking, anyway). :)

Great video. Pretty much helped me decide on the table set up and design for my van. Really well constructed video format too. Thanks from the UK 👍🏻
Thanks Paul! Glad you liked it. You will have to let us know how it works for you. :)
Definitely. I've got a few more hours on the bed build then I'll get the table in. Keep up the good work guys 👍🏻
Thank you so much!!! This is the perfect solution for my camper table dilemma.
One of the best instructional videos I have seen.
Great video and would love to see more of your designs explained! Thanks for sharing!
Excellent... was ready to purchase the Lagun Table hardware. This fits our budget.
You have made me very, very happy. Thank you!!!!
Love the way you explained it very thoroughly. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing. Very ingenuous. Looking forward to more videos.
Looking forward to more videos. Hope you are enjoying the cabin!
Thanks Marla! We are, for sure! :)
Thank you so much for sharing this design and the wonderful instructions! Looks sturdier than a $250 ‘Lagan ’ table leg!
Fantastic! Thanks so much. Great idea. We plan to use it in our conversion trailer.
excellent, Elegant Solution to a Tricky Challenge. Bloody Well Done Mate.😃
Thank you! Awesome video and idea. We’re going to build this into our van.
best explanation ever! 👏🏻😄thank you so much ! 🙌🏻
Great Job with the table, My son has taken over my Roadtrek and I am now fixing to rehab a 1978 Dodge ULTRA High top van with a Queen size bed. So far I think its going to work very well. I wanted to see what you did for this table. Thanks
Ho and yea, I would Love to see what you have done with your van.
Thank you
I love your idea! so handy and yet so simple to build!
This was so well done and helpful! I was able to build my own table that I love! Thank you!
please do post more the van build -- thanks tons! And oh yeah, it's Paula's "turn"!
Perfect functionality. I have been looking for this for months!
Love it.. Thank You for sharing..
So far, this seems like the best, diverse option.
You guys are legit. Thanks for putting this video out there. We are totally going to copy this setup.
