That is an amazing groove at that time point. Then when the horns kick in at 2:15, it takes it next level to where you just want to get up and start doing spin moves. lol. EWF doesn't let go of the groove throughout this masterpiece...

Simply amazing! How I loved the 70's! This came out in 1979. The album wouldn’t be out of place in todays music and would put most of it to shame! That’s how good EWF were. Probably the worlds greatest ever band. I can’t think of any other group that can come anywhere near their musical ability and expertise! Truly and simply amazing band. I ‘Can’t let go’ that’s for sure!
One of the most underrated songs ever by EWF! This should have been a #1 hit! Maurice White's voice went to orbit on this and the background vocals were phenomenal. This song should be re- released on a movie soundtrack! This is timeless 🎤🎼🎹🎶
@Stormie Weather You are so right. A person had to buy their albums to find out all of the other hits that actually existed bc they didn't play all of their music publicly or mainstream. They have so many hits that it ain't funny and it is impossible to name them all. It's worth the time to get all their albums (CDs) to investigate what tunes we missed that may be other hits. They became mainstream in 1973 or 1974 with "Keep Your Head to the Sky" to my recollection. I was in college and everyone's music was played in our cafeteria and student union where we had a chance to experience music from different areas of the US so we heard a lot of music from many states. Their music was enjoyed by everyone from everywhere. They had hits year after year after year even through my early career time in the 80's. They just kept making hits even in the 90's playing hits from their past years until Maurice died. We love this group and the legacy they left with us!!!
@ Trevor Precarious You are so right. It's easy to tell that they are trained musicians (ones who read and maybe write music) bc they play crescendo, decrescendo, syncopation with the upbeats, downbeats and offbeats as well as other musical terms I don't remember bc it's been ages since I learned and played music. I played woodwinds but tinkered with the brass and strings bc my mom wanted all her kids to learn music so I was exposed to the guitar, piano, trumpet, and tuba. BUT this group by far is the best band that has ever existed in Black culture and all cultures really!!! Earth, Wind and Fire!!! 🔥🔥🔥 I can still hear the MC say their name with much enthusiasm as he introduced them to the stage!!! They are TIMELESS!!!
This song brings tears to my eyes. One of the most joyous catchy choruses EVER!!! ....and the fade out / fade in to "After The Love Has Gone" on the original "I Am" album is truly enchanting. Maurice White...truly gifted by God.
@ Martin Johnson Then "After the Love is Gone" fades into "Let Your Feelings Show" with that introduction with the saxophone and African drum beat which is so EW&F when they first came out. Man oh man, a person has to be made of steel if they don't want to get up and dance to "Let Your Feelings Show" as well!!! They have so many hits!!! They had such a terrific band where it is obvious that these guys were trained musicians (knew how to read and possibly write music). They had two lead singers, Maurice White and Phillip Bailey, who had extraordinary voices in each own's right; my GOD; they were destined to be great. I don't know who they worshipped, even though it seemed they were singing about GOD, now that I know what some of the symbolisms on their album covers really mean but I do believe that GOD stopped to listen to their music bc they were just that good. After all, it was He who gave them their gifts and talents!!!

Why this song was not one of their hits boggles my mind! It was killing it even when they first made it! Still is today and it's beat is timeless! These were and still are some bad dudes!
This song always makes me happy and want to dance. I grew up listening to Earth, Wind, & Fire. I have so many memories of the times when it was cool to sing about being positive. EWF members were young, vibrant, and bursting with creative music. Maurice White RIP, Philip Bailey, Larry Dunn, and the Horn section. They were a force to be reckoned with in their hay days. How I miss those days. Wish I could go back sometimes. I think it's safe to say they were the best R&B Funk group ever to grace the stage and our culture. The best of all time.

Maurice was a musical genius My God !! This song is so tight , Horn section was very dynamic , & tasty .... Keyboard is so fantastic & funky ! Maurice your we 're really a blessed , spiritual soul ... 🙋♂️🏆👏❤🙏
I'm 31 and this is the music I grew up listening to. I loooooove this song. I mean this song was decades old when I first heard it as a kid so, now I really feel old listening to it lol. Rewinding the cassettes over and over to this, "Speed of Love", "Spirit", "In the Stone".... I could go on and on. I absolutely love this music!!
Crying all day long and listening to EWAF ........ what musical genius Maurice was, unbelievable ...... Comparing to other musicans at that time ....( there is no comparising, Maurice was on the top of the shelf)
Try comparing EWF to the nowaday garbage. What in the world happened to music? It's just a bunch of talentless creeps, who can't make songs without their little "autotune" software. EWF is gold compared those losers.
I’m 24 and I love old underrated classics like this but all my people in my generation would clown on me for this shit but I don’t give a fuck this shit hits different.
@@hiltonturner9915 Yes, they are well known in music circles and by music lovers and they even got famous songs like September. Check them horns on Let Me Talk. The 'call and respond' starting around 2:50 was pure genius. Who would think to do that with instruments instead of voices?!
They're panned hard to the left towards the end of the song, absolutely brilliant! I heard the song for the first time only two days ago and have probably played it more than 100 times since and being a hobby music producer I do try to pick out little things like that. Love the way the main vocals centred but the ad-libs are also panned hard left and right giving a nice wide feeling and also check the hi-hat panned to the right with a shaker panned to the left, when combined, they sound amazing (you may not be able to unhear them separately after so be warned lol). I think this song has come and stolen a position in my top 5 of all time songs ❤️
How fucking much I love this group??? They give you pure happiness

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Man you are me right now. Each of those songs were more my focus growing up wow. Yep that white cassette played every night
"Undoubtedly One Awesome Track From The Best Album They Ever Made" Truly A Magnificent Choon From A Masterpiece Of An Album"
This is the fire in Earth, Wind, and Fire!
One of my favorite tunes ever by them . Never even hear the tributes bands tackle this one!
Crying all day long and listening to EWAF ........ what musical genius Maurice was, unbelievable ...... Comparing to other musicans at that time ....( there is no comparising, Maurice was on the top of the shelf)
+omi53 DON'T CRY.
LISTEN TO MAURICE SING
I NEED YOU.
Try comparing EWF to the nowaday garbage. What in the world happened to music? It's just a bunch of talentless creeps, who can't make songs without their little "autotune" software. EWF is gold compared those losers.
Very Very True Statement💙💙💙💙
I'm at work and I can't seem to let this go ,oh wow
Maurice journey in heaven. You touched my heart for all my life.Thank you for everything.God bless you.Whole world love you.EWF too🙏
やっぱり昭和54年5月って最高の季節でしたねえ。
I’m 24 and I love old underrated classics like this but all my people in my generation would clown on me for this shit but I don’t give a fuck this shit hits different.
This is one of the greatest songs of all time. This band should be more famous. They have some of the greatest songs I ever heard.
Mate... this band is THEE most famous band in music in general it's this song that is their most underrated of all time
More famous? What planet are you from. This is EWF you talking about. Any country in the world they are recognized.
@@hiltonturner9915 Yes, they are well known in music circles and by music lovers and they even got famous songs like September. I'm talking famous like The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Rolling Stones famous... That's how good they are. They should be be well known by every single person in the world. They get a list of great songs.

Just found this and love it!
2024 still listening, everyday and loving the music more. A boomer who loves E W F. Oops! Just found out Im not a boomer, but a Generation Jones. 1954 - 1965. 🤣🤣☆🎶
Everyday
Always makes me smile.
Those horns are so damn tight and intricate. Listen to near the end of this song....MAN!!!!
Check them horns on Let Me Talk. The 'call and respond' starting around 2:50 was pure genius. Who would think to do that with instruments instead of voices?!
Literally the best part!!!!
2019 and still rockin!
It's funny when this first came out my father always told me and my brother to check out the horns as maurice says power
