    Olaf says that you don’t need to trust the counter party. I get this from a security perspective - you can expect not to be ripped off. However in the finance world investors do want and in fact need to know where the money is coming from. This is called KYC and aimed at preventing funding of terrorism, fraud, human and drug trafficking etc... anti money laundering (AML) laws currently govern fund flows so how does the notion described above deal with this very real challenge. I can imagine DAOs operating in still regulated markets. Anyone?

    • @Ausbos5
      @Ausbos5 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think biggest threat obviously to DAOs will be governments and their weaponry stockpile. To me what the DAO is like a modern day Declaration of Independence.Potentially legalizing all drugs sounds crazy, but once normalized and controlled properly we can hone in on terrorism long term. To me there will always be terrorism regardless of who made the money/controls it. Human trafficking just needs more investment and man hunts. If we really wanted to rid it - We could spend billions and billions more.

      Crypto dev teams are funded by VC, IOC, or self funded. The path most crypto projects go are they get VC funding, release their platform, release a token that allows holders to submit changes and vote on them(how the VC re-coop costs).Once the token is released the project is considered “Decentralized “ and anyone can submit and develop changes to the protocol as long as the vote passes. These tokens are also used to fund future development of the protocol.

    I’ll be honest, I hear a lot of bizspeak in this interview and so many others...and little vision of how this “Crypto” space is going to actually free people of the proverbial “Late Stage Capitalism”. Everything ‘Bitcoin’ is starting to seem to me that if the onramp-offramps are controlled, then its just a different sort of business-as-usual...investible, short-term, but not actually revolutionary. It will only quickly evolve to where technology eats the world, as Raoul likes to say. Where we don’t need anything at all between Central Banks and Consumers. I would love to see something from Real Vision that proves this wrong. Or right. Just want to know whether the world is changing for the better, or just getting worse. Will we be led through this technology toward a truly Decentralized society, or is this just a last hurrah before everything becomes a solely 2-party transaction, with no actual economy in-between, and therefore no economy whatsoever. Please help me form my thinking on this.
