Flea the bassist got emotional describing their friendship, saying: "I met him when I was 15 and we both started 10th grade at Fairfax High School and we were almost immediately in love and at war and it's stayed that way ever since."
He added: "I found someone who I could communicate with in a profound way that I hadn't before and here we are 40 something years later..."

RHCP is: Anthony Kiedis (vocals), Michael ""Flea" Balzary (bass), Chad Smith (drums)...
John Frusciante (guitar) is on this record. He quit the band a couple of times, but recently rejoined RHCP.

Part of the brilliance of RHCP is that you NEVER know what the next song is going to sound like but it’s going to be great.

This song was the debut single for their album "Blood, Sugar Sex Magik." It was their first release after signing to Warner Brothers and a lot of people feared that they would have to make their music tamer and safer since Warner Brothers was such a major label. Then they came out SWINGING with this one.

This is one of their best albums in my opinion, Blood, Sugar, Sex, Magic. You should check out "Apache Rose Peacock" pls. & thx. Anthony Keidis - singer, Flea - bass, John Fruiciante - guitar & Chad Smith on drums. There have been a few other guitarists, but he's played on the most albums.

Californication is a great song but this song is more of the Red Hot Chili Peppers style. The true personality of the band is the bassist "Flea". He's like the Angus Young of the band.

"Dark Necessities" is another great song by the RHCP. It is a new song and they had a different guitar player at the time but it is a really good song in my opinion. They have so many great songs. They do have some misses (again, in my opinion) but overall they're catalog is strong going back to the 1980's. Their 4th album, "Mother's Milk" released in 1989 is where they really started picking up steam commercially and then the next album, "Blood Sugar Sex Magic" came out in 1991 and they deservedly blew up. This is the album the song you just listened to is on and I don't believe there is a bad song on the entire album.

Anthony Kiedis - lead vocals, Flea - bass, Chad Smith - drums, and John Frusciante - electric and acoustic guitars, backing vocals.. John would join the band, then get kicked out, then brought back in for a while, then he left again.. There have been a few different guitarists play with this band..

the Chili Peppers are one of the best bands that have ever been imo...great reaction man!
If you like their funkier stuff like this, I'd suggest: Humpty Bump, If You Have to Ask, Around The World, Aeroplane, Charlie, Can't Stop, Purple Stain and Funky Monks to get started.
If you want to rock out a little, try: Readymade, Coffee Shop, By The Way, Knock Me Down and Suck My Kiss.
A slower one? Try: Under The Bridge, I Could Die For You, Scar Tissue, and Dosed.
And lastly, for some acoustic vibes: I Could Have Lied, Cabron, Breaking The Girl and Road Trippin'.
The coolest thing about the Peppers is even if you managed to get through all the songs above - there's SO much more to discover! Enjoy. :)
