This is a WOW movement. Very Nice indeed. I have a few questions on the tiger safari:
Which is the best national forest or tiger reserve in Karnataka? Planing on my first visit in December 2024. I Wish to take many
seniors in the family from Mysuru. Thank you!!

@@jayh8287 Nagarahole is the tiger reserve with highest population of tigers . Its divided into different regions. First comes the kabini which is also in the backwaters of kabini known to be the best place for tiger sighting, your chances of coming face to face to tiger is high because of the co-ordination between the safari vehicles due to the availbility of mobile network. If one vehicle spots the tiger , they will inform all others vehicles with the location which becomes easy to track.
Next comes the Nagarahole region which is also the place where i shot this video. Here its purely luck as there is no network inside the forest and chances of communication among safari vehicles is slim. But if you pick the right time for safari, which is summer. Your chances of sighting tiger goes high as the tiger population is really well.
Third comes Bandipur. This is good as well but sightings of tiger is not as good as other two due to the lower population of tigers within the safari zone.
All of these are near to mysore and if you plan to book open jeep safari, better book it in the JLR resorts as their package includes open jeep safari along with naturalists who are also trained experts in tracking tigers and also the safari hours are more compared to the safari run by forest department.
Other option is booking safari directly with forest department , i wouldn't recommend this as you will end up in an overcrowded safari bus as open Jeeps booking is at the mercy of the forest department and there is no transparency to whom its allotted and also they wont take any special interest in tracking the tiger even if you manage to get a jeep somehow.
There is another reserve which is known as Bhadra Tiger reserve, this is near to chikkamagaluru. Here chances of tiger sighting is very rare due to the lower population of just 33 tigers in the total area of 500 sq km , but leapord sighting is common.
I hope i was able to answer your questions

No sir. This is a female tiger. She is 1.5 years old. Mooga is an old male about 7 years old which was spotted on our Day 3, which you can find on our Day 3 video. The name Mooga( In kannada means Nose) was given as a name to that male tiger because he has a scar on his nose which he got in one of his famous territorial fight. Btw he is also famous for having multiple territories in his control which is unlike for other tigers in the same area :)

      Yes sir. Thanks 😊
It's something that we will cherish all our lives. We ourselves had been going to various tiger reserves for many years to catch a glimpse of tiger but never had been so lucky. This is the first time we saw a wild tiger face to face. It was amazing. We were so fortunate we even got tiger sighting on our Day 3 safari also . Soon we will share our Day 3 journey here. In case you want to experience tiger sighting, this is the best time to visit nagarahole , chances of sighting tigers are very high due to hot summer.
