A violin is tucked under the chin, a fiddle is tucked into the bicep area or so.
Nope you were not wrong. Same instrument, difference between the violin and fiddle is in how it is played. Violin is playing with long smooth pulls back and forth across the strings. Fiddle is played with faster, shorter stokes that creates a much different sound.

Zach Brown band has a lot of good songs. Toes is a good one we can all relate to, if only in our imagination.
The one they released live at The CMA Awards is my favorite. I can't recall the name. Similar to "Toes".

They are the same instrument. A violin for classical music; a fiddle for folk/country music. If you look close at a violin there is a support for the strings in the center near the openings. That support is called a bridge and it can be adjusted to change the tone of the instrument and helps to give the fiddle it's unique sound.

This is a great country song that just speaks to all us country folks. Im sure someone will correct me but it's called a fiddle in country music but a violin in a symphony but they are basically the same instrument.

A fiddle and a violin are the exact same thing. The difference is how they're played. "Fiddlin'" is a style, thus the violin is referred to a fiddle in the hands of a "fiddler".
And yes, I do have a musical background, and so do all three of my kids. Plus, I grew up on all styles of Country music throughout my 46 years in San Antonio, TX where my favorite place to party is the local honky-tonk called Cowboys Dance Hall.
He is from Georgia. I went to school with him. He has some other songs you need to listen to. Listen to Highway 20 ride, and colder weather. He is an amazing person and one hell of a singer.

The violin and fiddle is the same instrument just played differently. You play the violin for classical/orchestra type music. And the fiddle is used for bluegrass and country.

Don’t know much about ZBB , it’s a borderline sound for my 80’s rock listening style , R&B , Motown youth in Detroit ! But I do know Zac Brown took a million dollars and started a program for disable kids for summer programs and a library and a full time Staff - the treehouse show on history channel built him a spaceship observatory once and that’s how I know this ❤

I got to see Zac Brown Band play a year ago in Atlanta when they opened for the Rolling Stones. Such a fantastic night to hear this song played live. Went there a Rolling Stones fan, came out with Zac Brown Band merch. It was great!!!

Violins & Fiddles are the same instrument. It is more the playing style, although violinists usually like synthetic strings, while fiddlers usually go for steal strings for a sharper sound. Zac has some great music. Fun ones. Deep ones. Great band. 'Toes' is a lot of fun, while 'Highway 20 ride' will make you think, if you are sharing custody of a child. 'Colder Weather' is cool & I also love 'Keep me in mind' which is another upbeat tune. You are fun to watch.

I'm just gonna say it, I actually envy people who haven't heard the Zac Brown Band. The literally have hits for days! They're the greatest modern band of all time, easily.
The difference in a violin and fiddle is? A violin has strings, a fiddle has strangs. We say strangs in Kentucky. Cornel Sanders originated Kentucky Kentucky Fried Chicken about 45-50 miles north from me. It hasn't been the same since Sanders sold it. Someone has changed the recipe. Oh, where The original store is there, close by is the new one. They changed name to KFC. That's in Corbin Kentucky.
