That end solo is a masterpiece. Just been learning it - very difficult - and so precise. Had to watch this video at half speed to really appreciate the triplets, 16th notes, and laser precision. Bravo
Great playing. Camera work is great because at 2.10, it shows that he uses his fingers to pick the strings as well as the plectrum, which is something I didn't know about Marco. Great stuff!
Yep, for a good reason, his gig includes Mesa Boogie as well as Petrucci, this guys is the only guitar player I see replacing Petrucci on Dream Theater.
Great melodic technically skillfull guitarist. His creativity and born talented is great good in rymth can play variety of music vibes.Best guitarist in the world need more recognition and popularity cause his skills is super awesome..Guitar Gurus born to be guitarist special person with humble mindset
I love the sound of Elixir strings, sound is clear and defined and never had to restring them.... just that they are very STIFF and .09 feels like .10 ... I wish Santa heard my prayer that one of these days Elixirs make their strings less like electric cables.
@@Controversy1100 to be honest in style of playing, he has his of style. Petrucci is definitely king of alternate picking. But marco delivers all of his technique combination well which makes him unique
SSVplus Guthrie Govan is better than petrucci in every department anyway, in fact he’s comfortably the most accomplished guitarist in the world right now .
As usual Marco demonstrates his mastery of melody unlike so many of his contemporaries. A song is nothing without it despite being crammed with displays of virtuosity and sonic fireworks. Only melody with hold attention like a well told story. Long words make for a boring dinner guest.
The intro reminds me of the wonderful album, that is "awake" and lifting shadows off a dream solo that JP completely blew my mind away. Marco, on the other hand, has stayed extremely melodic throughout his career, much more than JP. Both outstanding players, one inspired by the other.
Maybe this will help you: if it is about selecting the pick up while playing, then the standard is to use the first frets to the 12th fret with the bridge.pick up, and the rest with the neck pickup. It is not set in stone, for example you may want the mellow characteristic of the neck pick on a 3 note per string scale around the 7th to 10th frets , in the end it depends on your judgement. if it is about selecting a new pick up to install, well... better check reviews or if you can, try them. Best of luck to you !
@@terribleligadelmal4541 I find it difficult while playing , whether to use neck or bridge. This "judgement" you are talking about, that is what I want to learn
@@alexilaiho6441 For tapping and slower sustained notes sounds good on neck pickup. While the bridge pickup is great for palm muted riffs and works just fine for all of the above mentioned. Awesome patterns. I loved this. Also I heard some stuff like Journey, Andy Timmons, Dream Theater / John Petrucci... wow man, you really did it. Congrats.
I'm on the 'Marco Sfogli tone bus' haha every vid has this lush 90's Vai + Satch + EVH mix silky smooth lead tone. Obviously the man's style makes up a nice portion of that but man, it's perfect!

@@tonypowell250 agreed. but Ernie Ball Cobalts are a great start lol! :)
Ernie Ball Cobalts 9-42 are very cool and have a nice tone. Awesome playing by Marco of course! Love the vid thanks for posting it!

Is astonishing how easy he makes it look, how clean it all is. Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. Love that album from start to finish btw.
Marco italian proud!!
Wha a tasteful guitar player. So refreshing on The Tube.
Thank you so much for these playthroughs, the entire album 'Homeland' is wonderful and deserves it, thanks a lot!
Woah! 2:39 until 3.40 sounds like DT’s Petrucci from the Falling Into Infinite. Missed those albums. Awesome Marco!
He just has that melodic sound locked in , and he’s obviously technically proficient
Wow, so melodic, and that riff at 2:47 damn
Años sin tocar y tras ver esto apetecerme volver a tocar...sublime Marco!!!

Dude, your tone sounds a lot like 1991's petrucci. You can hear from album images and words, sounds alike from the song take the time.
