My only note here is that if you're still gaining mastery levels in whichever area you're playing, you don't earn spirit shards. You have to finish out your masteries for example in Heart of Thorns to earn spirit shards in Heart of Thorns areas. Other great ways to earn them though - 3 for completing dailies or consuming tomes of knowledge from dailies/pvp/wvw/login :) Great video!
@@bilaliqbal4012 No, you'll still need to finish an area's mastery to earn spirit shards in that area. It used to be that if you hadn't finished *all* masteries, you couldn't earn them at all, I believe.
Every time you say Mystic Crystal the subtitles say it as Mr Crystal, and now I can't stop imagining Mystic Crystals wearing moustache, top hat and monocle.
anyone watching this incase you don't know. If you want to craft ascended gear, or legionaries, don't waste all of your spirit shards, you need them for crafting.
Since shimmering dust is 7/8 gold per stack , you don t really make any money anymore , good idea still but doesn t work anymore sadly. I hope you ll find some updated ways of making gold in future with shards , thanks!
Also I tried it yesterday, and I got to say, that's a pretty meh income strategy. I took 10g as a sum I was willing to risk to try this, and within doing the recipe 6 times, I basically spent them rather than gained anything. The average Radiant Dust yield seemed around 70 which is at current rates not enough to have any profit. Out if all 6 conversions actually only one gave me a net positive, which was around 100 dust. I suppose I was unlucky and with a large enough sum of gold you could cain profit on average, but I'm not going to test this assumption.
Yes it’s definitely one of those things you’d have to play the markets at the right time and use a much bigger sample size. The idea behind the video was more to show that it’s possible. A how to use the mystic forge. But with caution because I did show how easy it is to lose gold as well with it. I remember when it was possible to make gold using lodestones. You had an upfront cost but it was always profitable for me no matter how big or small the amount of items were. But since EOD I haven’t been able to make gold off them anymore.
You can earn some steady gold but I feel like if your crafting high level stuff and leveling crafters your gonna have slow and steady process or if you want to get decent gold u coukd spent 5 to 10 bucks and convert gems to gold but it’s not mandatory. Spirit shards I seem to get decent but just from some daily strikes
Title misleading, in my humble opinion. Should put a disclaimer, that you can lose your butt on this, and it's NOT a surefire way to make money. I mean you do have a caution in the lower part of your description, BUT it says nothing about his being a gamble, and you may mention it at the end, but lets face it not everyone watches a video to the end, they see you make money in the beginning, they pause video they run and.... Lose all their money. at least put in VERY top of description, hey watch whole video before you try this, I show a breakdown at the end. EDIT: IT's your video you do you, I am just saying I see alot of new players losing money off of a title that says a trick to making money, when it's a gamble not a trick.
I can’t help it if people don’t do their full research. I have a caution in the first few seconds of the video. A caution in the description and a second half of the video where I show where the caution is. But since you were cordial about your suggestion I added it to the title as well. Now this is 4 different areas for viewers to pay attention to. It’s more than enough.
@@CatDadThings I am just trying to arm the community with as much information as I can. This method is not a make money trick, it's a if you're super end game and have nothing else to use spirit shards on gamble.
@@Mystical_Goddess well trick is a relative term. You don’t like how it’s being used that’s just preference at the end of the day. Idk if you saw but I also pulled my data and I left a link to the fast farming community. If we’re talking about arming the community with data that right there is the data.
@@Mystical_Goddess I do appreciate your input though. At the end of the day I’m not a great content creator and I recognize this. If my videos are misleading especially to new players then that’s a problem. So I will take your advice and change how I create hopefully it won’t mislead in the future.
Tried it, got 100+ Radiant dust the first time, and then got under 60 3 times in a row. Lost 10 gold just like that. Don't try this, it's just gambling.
Ya it just depends on the current market prices as well. The video was more to show how the shards can work for you to make gold. You’d need to do research and put time into which items though. Depending on the item it can take thousands of product in order to make profit like a huge bulk. I added a clip of me doing a small case with it to show it’s possible to lose gold. But that’s part of the pvp aspect of the trading post. It’s a market made up of players so people will be competing.
It works in the right context and with the right amount of items. Idk how much you used or how you sold everything. I showed a clip of how you can lose gold if you aren’t careful plus I added all the information in the description. If you didn’t read it I would check it out because it shows where the data was pulled from as well as other information.

Good point! A note I should have added. Thanks for the catch 👍
i thought they changed that? i'm pretty sure u can earn them even when gaining masteries.

I am not sure if that's true. Although the mastery bar will be stuck, I think the underlying, normal xp bar keeps popping.
@Stone Edge Entertainment I checked the wiki and there's nothing that says that happens, but I'll try it out on an alt to confirm.

you can also use that dust to upgrade materials which can be even more profitable
I haven’t even checked the prices recently. I wonder if they’ll change for the new Xpac
