It's like the Pest Theads spell in Elden Ring, it does like no damage at the begining yet somehow ends up being the hardest hitting gun when you reach 99BT and have a good gem.
13:00 bloodborne lore buff here! answer: we don't really know fr though it's likely because that specific beast is not a normal yharnam beast, it's pthumerian. In the pthumerian chalice dungeons, aside from the actual animals (rats, dogs, spiders), the only beasts that appear are the beast-possessed souls (mr fireballs). This implies that the pthumerians themselves, understanding the blood a lot better, never had a beast plague, which is backed up by the pthumerians (and their cainhurst descendants) being able to do blood magic & stuff. When they created a beast, it was intentional, and given that the beast-possessed soul is one of the rare few beasts to possess horns, it seems as though their beasts were religiously significant, similar to the cleric beasts (as well as the loran clerics, different horned beasts from the chalice dungeons that also use pyromancies) the pthumerians also just kinda have pyromancy. The shadows of yharnam, pthumerian elder, and the keeper/watchdog of the old lords, can all use fire magic. Maria, who is from cainhurst, and thus a pthumerian descendant, also has her fire stuff in her fight. Not clear where their pyromancy comes from, but it's just something they can do. One of the chalice descriptions does explicitly say that the pthumerians are superhumans, likely gaining that status from their ethical blood intake, so maybe pyromancy just happens when you're a beast but like you're not a dick about it. They lived symbiotically alongside the sleeping great ones, so they were allowed to take the blood & use it. Yharnamites were too british for their own good so they just took it by force & died anyway, the beast-possessed soul at the bottom of the healing church workshop tower was likely there as a beast-killer. In the chalice dungeons, if you find a beast-possessed soul outside of a boss arena, they will kill other enemies themselves. They can even follow you into boss arenas, and get healed by the choir bell, which is a really fun interaction. This seems to suggest that the church caught on to the increased sapience of these beasts, relative to the ones they were used to, and kidnapped one to use as a weapon
Thank you for the explanation my friend! That's interesting that they would follow you into the boss arena, i'll have to try that if I ever do a run with chalice dungeons haha

13:00 SO when humanity was first "blessed" with the old blood, there where 2 main kingdoms who got the "gift" before anyone else the kingdom of Pthumeru and the kingdom of Loran, the nobles of each kingdom seem to had very close relations to the old ones because their bloodlines got double blessed, not only did they get access the blood but also because they gained unique abilities that get more pronounced the more they're exposed to the old blood, meanwhile people who are "impure" don't really get anything besides pure physical strength Loran nobles gained the power to produce and control blue electricity (probably using their own bone marrow as fuel) and Pthumeru nobles gained the power to produce and control flames using their blood as fuel Reminder that Cainhurst nobility are direct descendants from Pthumeru nobility, Lady Maria herself shows her unique Pthumeru blood supernatural powers when we fight her, first she tries to rely on her skill only, then on her skill + elite Cainhust techniques (the blood manipulation) but when neither work she starts using her Pthumeru gift and sets her own blood on fire for devastating effect TLDR, the reason that ONE beast can use fire is because whoever that beast used to be before transforming they were someone very closely related to Cainhurst/Pthumeru Nobility, so much so that even after losing most of their humanity they can still use a very basic version of their fire-blood powers Rule of thumb every time you see a beast use elemental powers if they use electricity, their blood is more closely related to Loran, if the use fire their blood is more closely related to Pthumeru, if they use neither/use arcane powers or they rely on plain toxicity and disease or straight up pure physical strength, then they're either someone of extremely impure/diluted descent and/or they're entirely unrelated to either kingdom, like our main character or Rom the Spider. The ONLY exception to this rule being Laurence who uses fire because he died by being burned alive shortly after transforming and he probably got so traumatized he uses fire in the hunters' nightmare
13:18 I was literally about to come type a comment to ask if it was an intentional Dr. Evil reference but then you immediately answered my question lmao
Isn't the way that humans hunt to chase down the targets until they are exhausted? so then the beasts would be tired _and_ have to deal with the smell lol
@@DoomWolfOfficial Yeeeeees, IF we give ourselves the generous assumptions that the incense ALWAYS activates a flight response in ALL beasts (natural and transformed alike) no matter the circumstance, AND that hunters can carry enough bones to burn on the go, AND that, most importantly, hunters have AT LEAST equal to or perhaps even slightly greater stamina/endurance when running than the beasts they're hunting (which is DUBIOUS at best), then yes it is theoretically possible (but not probable) that hunters could use persistence hunting to hunt... A SINGULAR BEAST... over course of perhaps SEVERAL HOURS... Or you know, they could instead just use advanced boom boom sticks, stabby stabby sticks and the blood of woman Cthulu to kill said same beast in SECONDS and then be ready to take on another beast right afterwards. ( Or anything that isn't a beast as well that is hostile to the hunters.) TL;DR: Persistence hunting MIGHT be possible, but even if it was, it would be WILDLY RESOURCE- AND TIME-INEFFICIENT compared to just gunning and stabbing the beasts mano a mano when the hunters have access to modern (for the time period) firearms, meelee weaponry and magical eldritch healing juice. Also persistence hunting is a niche hunting strategy that would only work on creatures that are afraid of/ repelled by incense. Gun Only Bloodborne in 2024?! God bless America. And Yharnam. 12:54 Separately, I have found myself questioning why Hunters including the player character can't use Pyromancy. Then I realized, Hunters can't actually use *any* real magic. They can only use Hunter Tools to tap into Great Ones' power. For the beast possessed soul's fire magic: it's an arcane art of lost Loran, where the beast was unearthed. For the incense question, that's what's in the hunter's torch. the church probably doesn't give the stuff out to non-church hunters, though.
Ludwig's Rifle has the longest recovery time of any gun, making it somewhat of a poor choice for parries. The starting pistol is actually a much better choice for parrying.
I'm so behind on your videos but I'm excited to start getting caught up today, starting with this one hope things are going well!! I'm starting a new job (💰💰💰) at the beginning of next year so I'm looking forward to rejoining the patreon :D
I saw this video and was like "Oh no, another one attempts this gauntlet...now let us see how they handle Blood-starved Beast...nope about as good as when I tried." And some say that man still has yet to beat him to this day...that man is me. I still haven't gotten back to this run. This boss specifically maaaaaan.
17:16 Honestly, the flame sprayer and reiter is one of my favorite builds. cause I get a gun and a flamethrower, but the bulltet management makes it such a pain to kill bosses still love it though.
Bruh how did I not know after beating Bloodborne multiple times that you can run into the water in the Kos fight!? I always struggled fighting him on the lumpy beach lmao
That lung attack you were talking about is parriable. But there is another attack that is also parrable but not as well known about. When orphan does the giant leap, if you time it right you can parry it before it hits you. You might have to free aim the shot. I prefer to keep a good distance so that if i miss i wont get hit.
You mean the one where he leaps into the sky?? or the other leap, if it's the second, I think I have landed that _once_ but it was risky so I never try haha
I know you can't do it because of the "only level bloodtinge" rule, but reiterpallasch + cannon is so fun. Hitting an enemy with a bone marrow ash boosted cannon after you parry them with the reiterpallasch is so satisfying. Although unfortunately you can only do it a couple of times due to how much ammo the cannon consumes. Also about the incense thing, there are a few moments where the hunter is referred to as "moon scented" or having an odd scent in general. Although it isn't quite 100% confirmed, it is implied from the Doll's prayer that the Moon Presence's name is Flora. It is possible that the "moon scent" is the same scent as the beast warding incense as the Moon Presence does grant a degree of protection to its hunters from the plague (although there is a limit as seen with Gascoigne and others). The Oedon Chapel Dweller mentions he didn't notice us enter and attributes it to the incense, but it could be that we weren't so much masked by it but that if we already smell like the incense then he wouldn't notice any difference. As for why it doesn't protect us from being attacked, the incense just helps hide people's presence from them, but if the beasts see you they're going to attack regardless of how you smell.
@@DoomWolfOfficial hahaha yeah that's fair, always feels like she's gonna hit, but even her charge where she extends her arm out you can just circle, really weird
18:28 I'm not the MOST well versed in Souls lore, but if my understanding is correct, the sheer amount of blood that covers hunters prevents any sort of incense from masking their presence from beasts. I believe the Blue Elixer canonically was a means to enact a similar effect though, for hunters that sought to get around undetected.
2:39 I immediately thought of HeliBacon. It's a hilariously American company in Texas that lets anyone who can afford a seat the chance to hunt wild boars from a helicopter with a variety of guns. Belt-fed machine guns, SMGs, shotguns, carbines, a friggin' BAR... sadly no flintlock pistols.
ah yes, I didn't know the name of it but I've heard of it. Actually a friend of mine was looking into doing it because there was a boom in boar population so the price went down a bit? like 1k a seat or something? Idk that was last year maybe haha
I was really wanting to at least hear one time "So anyway I started blasting" but you didn't do it. Now I don't feel bad for you doing the fist of Gratia anymore XD
Truly a shame you hadn't used the reiterpalasch in your main hand. The reason this is beneficial is due to bone marrow ash ONLY applying to the left hand weapon so you can parry with the reiterpalasch's tricked form and blast with a bone marrow ashed gun on a staggered enemy for about 5.46x damage on an Evelyn as opposed to the 2.14x damge normaly applied. Additionally it should be noted that while Ludwig's rifle has crap damage the damage stat in the weapon description applies to EVERY BULLET! At +10 and 50 bloodtinge it hits for 55+23 damage and can hit 15 times and, here's the real kicker, it has NO damage reduction from distance. To add insult to injury +flat damage gems still add damage to every bullet, and bone marrow ash still multiplies +flat damage. The multiplier for Ludwig's rifle is only x1.4 BUT the best flat gems you can get are the LEGENDARY +31.6 blood attack gems from the hexed (that means some had to do some wizard bullshit so nack up your save I repeat, BACK UP YOUR SAVE) so in 1 shot with ONE bullet you are looking at 2,301.6 damage A. MOTHER. FUCKING. SHOT!!! OR 153.44 damage per pellet so you should consider it will be a good bit lower due to enemy defense. However that doesn't include boosted damage against parried enemies! TLDR I recommend looking through Yhmfa's channel because if its a run that conceptually exists he's done it. Period. And don't get the wrong idea LOVE these runs but if you're playing Bloodborne do a smige of research. Link for the chalices glyph for the + 31.6 gem and a bunch of other info I didn't cover. www.reddit.com/r/tombprospectors/comments/iyx3t5/cursed_odd_bloodtinge_gem_newly_discovered/?
Correct but like I pointed out in the video the whole run was essential left hand weapons only, I made a conscious decision to _not_ use the right handed guns And wow sounds like. Lot of damage About doing more research: "lmao _no_ " ;) (I joke but it's more fun to just..do the thing, makes it more real) Also mad respect for Yhmfa as a creator, but I dont Watch him, I don't personally like no VO videos
@DoomWolfOfficial understandable however I'd recommend checking out Yhmfa's Bloodborne vid on the aforementioned gun shenanigans just to check out the damage numbers because they are fucking BATSHIT.

I’ve wanted to beat all the bosses with parrying that I could but getting hit and hearing the parry sound made me so mad that I didn’t want to do it. I am on ng+8 tho so that miss is like 50% if not more of my health bar
18:25 well this could be for a variety of reasons!! using real world logic, animals have a strong sense of smell and coating yourself in a scent that animals don't like while trying to hunt them is counterintuitive. using ingame logic, however, it could be that hunters themselves grow to hate the smell as they become more beast-like. those are just two interpretations at least :3
Makes sense if we are trying to hunt them we wouldn't want them to avoid us, which is what I thought when I said that, but then again, but then again aren't humans the kind of hunter that has so much stamina to keep up with the target? so eventually we would catch them and they would be forced to fight us while we smell of a smelly smell that they don't like lol
I approve of the Austin Powers reference, but hoo boy, I can not watch these movies again as an adult. I might cringe so hard, I'd fold into myself and collapse into a singularity

As for why it doesn't protect us from being attacked, the incense just helps hide people's presence from them, but if the beasts see you they're going to attack regardless of how you smell.
that would be some juicy damage.
Oh interesting, thanks!
I thought I was tripping hearing the Dr. Evil reference until you pointed it out lol
lol nope, just a good ol movie reference
you know, watching this it makes me realize just how peak the boss arenas in bloodborne are.
BB has a lot of peaks, please sony release it so we can have a remaster/sequel
@@DoomWolfOfficial sony be like "we don't have any IPs" when they have millions of people begging for bb pc
19:28 "God DAMN you Bernice!!" - The other two Shadows to the candle Shadow
lmao yes
A small tip with BSB, you dont need to dodge, you can just circle left, but Great Video otherwise ^^ love a good challenge run
This is true, I just always feel like i'm not in position to do that like she's still going to clip me , so I dodge haha
@@DoomWolfOfficial hahaha yeah that's fair, always feels like she's gonna hit, but even her charge where she extends her arm out you can just circle, really weird
The reference was Austin powers when doctor evil is asking the government for money
came FLYING for this. already liked the video!
haha hope you enjoyed it after the like :)
18:28 I'm not the MOST well versed in Souls lore, but if my understanding is correct, the sheer amount of blood that covers hunters prevents any sort of incense from masking their presence from beasts. I believe the Blue Elixer canonically was a means to enact a similar effect though, for hunters that sought to get around undetected.
huh, neat! Thanks for that :)
Also to be fair most hunters are probably more of the mind of being the bait
Now I don't feel bad for you doing the fist of Gratia anymore XD
missed opportunity lol
Correct but like I pointed out in the video the whole run was essential left hand weapons only, I made a conscious decision to _not_ use the right handed guns
And wow sounds like. Lot of damage
About doing more research: "lmao _no_ " ;) (I joke but it's more fun to just..do the thing, makes it more real)
Also mad respect for Yhmfa as a creator, but I dont Watch him, I don't personally like no VO videos
@DoomWolfOfficial understandable however I'd recommend checking out Yhmfa's Bloodborne vid on the aforementioned gun shenanigans just to check out the damage numbers because they are fucking BATSHIT.
@2:08 ah yes, the "I've been playing too much elden ring and forgot how brittle bones were in earlier games" experiences
facts lol ER ruined me
@@DoomWolfOfficial playing the older games again just reminds me of how much chip damage you take in DS3 from even the tiniest drops. such a dramatic contrast
Love the super metroid musik in the backround
Glad you liked it :)
ayo Wolf long time fan...noticd i dnt ads on your videos(appreciated.=Yes) but i still think you deserve the AD revenue bruv
I actually forgot to put ads in this one lmao, like a few minutes ago I was sitting here like "..wait, did I do that" and sure enough, nope
"I'll defeat Eldritch Horrors with the power of Doll, and this gun I found!"
You know I'm sure I've heard that joke in popular media, but I can't place it lol
@@DoomWolfOfficial
If I remember correctly it's from those hilarious 'so bad it's good' 4kids Dubs of anime.
This particular one being for Yu-Gi-Oh.
"I'm going to defeat you with the power of friendship, and this gun I found!"
6:23 missed a perfect opportunity of "mark my exit"
you right lol
The incense keeps beast away. It would be rather counterproductive to deter the thing you are supposed to hunt, no?
I missed a party for this! Also, I don't remember Illinois looking like this, them damn cosmic horrors
haha the party keeps going my friend!
Great video. Hopefully when I do a similar run in the future it goes well.
Glad you liked it :)
Probably the only time I've said "Dammit Doom" out loud.
As a skilltinge main this should be good.
Hope I did you proud lol
In Short, Yeah, You Did.
In Long, The Evelyn was my sidearm of choice so a bonus point already. Kinda neat seeing some of the lesser used guns though. Most cases I just think "huh, that's neat" and forget I even have it
I’ve wanted to beat all the bosses with parrying that I could but getting hit and hearing the parry sound made me so mad that I didn’t want to do it.
13:18 I love Austin powers
Is a great movie lol
Keep pumping the borne of the blood
I will happily do more bloodborne stuff lol
Awesome run!!
Thanks :)
The beast can throw fire because it chose Pyromancer as a starting class.
Dang you right lol
5:52 is my exact reaction when I manage to do the "skip" too 😂
we are real speedrunners now my friend haha
That one beast can use fire because he thinks he is a wizard from Clash of Clans i suppose
lmao I like this explanation
ahh.. thanks for doing the run i wanted to do but couldn't.
Honestly it wasn't so bad. I mean not the most fun way to play the game but could have been worse haha
@@DoomWolfOfficial it's my first build idea i was thinking of if i could ever play bloodborne. still not happening yet...
Glad you finally shoot your shot with this challenge. Infinite pebble only run when?
I uh... I'm going to save infinite pebbles for when I uh..hit 7 _billion_ subs, yep, totally real challenge run coming one day lol
Don't tell U2, but my friend and I call homeward bones "home-o bone-o"
haha that's a new one!
Another case of "I didn't know I craved it before I got it".
Hopefully you liked it ;)
@@DoomWolfOfficial Goes without saying!
I approve of the Austin Powers reference, but hoo boy, I can not watch these movies again as an adult. I might cringe so hard, I'd fold into myself and collapse into a singularity
lol I haven't actually seen them in a _long_ time but I enjoyed them when I did haha
26:11 i guess this run threw you for such a loop that the skill level dropped. Who am i kidding? I died to the first enemy of dark souls so i have no room to talk.
haha sometimes it the game be like that though
Bloodborne: The Texas Run
yippee kiyay mother yharnmaher lol
13:10
Doom is Dr. Evil confirmed?
if that's true then...who's my number 2?
12:56 You fool! this is a dream within a dream, conjured by eyes in the sky, born without a child! (via Dark Holes by Plague of gripes)
I actually don't know that reference, so thanks for opening my ...eyes lol
@@DoomWolfOfficial just a silly everlasting dragon sitcom :)
Love the dr evil ref.
Glad you got it :)
I don't remember if I've proposed this challenge to you or not, but:
I dare to play Elden Ring, all rememberances, but never opening the map.
Just to make it clear for the rules, it doesn't matter what order you obtain the rememberances. :)
I feel like I remember being proposed this challenge so ..maybe you did? haha
@@DoomWolfOfficial ah fair. me ol' memory ain't what it used to be lol
Mergo's Wet Nurse is a She.
Also, you'd think the Blunderbuss would do more damage than the Pistol, it being kind of like a shotgun, but no, it's just weaker.
yeah the blunderbuss's damage is...not good, or realistic to anything we know about guns unless it's shooting bbs maybe lol
It was me doom wolf I put those nerf bullets in your gun!
How dare you lol
while it's obviously just engagement baiting, how could I not rise to a Doctor Evil reference? o7
lol it wasn't fully meant to be engagement baiting, i just always feel bad for asking people to sub and stuff so I wanted to make it funny and that was the only "one _million_ " reference I could think of at the time haha
@@DoomWolfOfficial no worries, I'm just messing around
I don't think trying to get people to comment is a bad thing in and of itself. Thanks for the fun videos
13:16 Doctor Malito Reference
indeed! and today I learned what is name was in Spanish lol
Character creation, "Do you feel bonita?"
I feel..very bonita. lol
I don't know if you're going to do a run for all weapons but if the answer is yes than next one could be a chikage only run or worse a cane whip only run
maybe one day I'll do all the weapons, if I do chikage would be high up the list though so don't worry haha
@DoomWolfOfficial thank you for the answer, in any case, know that i do really enjoy your videos, so, again, thank you
Run failed, you killed wilber with gravity (gravity is not a gun.)
as punishment, do the run again, but this time, you have to speed run for the minigun and beat the game with that.
what is the earth but a planet sized bullet traveling through space ;) lol
Fextralife got something wrong? YOU DON'T SAY
just wait till my ... uh next, next video (at this point) ohhh boy they really done did mess up lol
I hate that I can't watch videos like this, cause I haven't played Bloodborne yet. :c
I will be back though, my Bloodborne playlist slowly grows. c:
I will also leave a like.
no worries my friend, the video will be here for when you come back, go and enjoy bloodborne to the fullest (if you have a way to play) first! It's a great game!
Thank You 😸 I'm sure I'll enjoy it!
There's no other game I wanted to play as much as this one 👀
Cool
Now do it with no weapons no armor no leveling
And most importantly, no pale doll to comfort you
And also no bloodvials
mmmm.. _no_ lmao
@DoomWolfOfficial yeah i might've went too far with the doll part
Playing Blood but you're Born in America 💀💀
Americanborne!
Bloodtinge is just Red Dexterity...
..so better than strength then :P
YYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSS A NEW VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope you liked it :)
Don't you dare go hollow (point)
I wont my friend, some how i'm still holding on
More doomed content=more happy
glad you like it :)
yeah, i love bsb as a fight but that stupid grab move does look like she lost track of you and starts t posing.
right! Theres something..off about it, just not fluid, and I can't think of any other attacks that do that
@@DoomWolfOfficial it doesn't help when her ai does also just have to do a reset now and again and she does a similar pose when that happens, you see it a lot with first loran chalice bsb because she clips over uneven terrain and outside of the arena alot and that messes with her ai a bit, a preiview of Elden Ring's awful terrain leading to enemies frequently animation resetting themselves because of a pixel high ledge.
Thank you, but I ain't fearing some blood. I'm content by just not going hollow.
Fair, fair lol
0:01 it was me, I loaded your gun with nerf darts.
Also bloodstarved beast is a SHE?! I didn't know that!
well you didn't make this run any easier lol
I farted before i opened this video and now everything stinks and my stomach hurts
That is unfortunate my friend, hope you were in a room with a window lol
He finally did it!!!
only took me a couple years lol
28:43 the first time I killef Logarius, I somehow managed to counter him right when he transitionned and he just didnnt have his anti bullet aura and it was so easy after that, I just parried him to death after that
lol nice, sometimes we get a little lucky, and we take those!
I enjoyed the video
I'm glad :)
If people dont get the one million subscribers bit, then they need to learn.
No one hasn't not got it yet so it's okay lol
Correct me if I’m wrong who won the character shoots the Evelyn do they hold it in a sideways position. Because if that is the case, that’s hilarious!
yeah it has a special animation that causes the gun to be at more of an angle!
27:08 my name and sanity after seeing this game.
lol same though
The fact that 95% of the GUNS in bloodborne do absolutely shit damage has always been insane to me.
It's defiantly an intentional design choice ..but like, why tho lol, maybe pvp related?
Tbh it’s probably cause a gun doesn’t do much damage against a mad man
I guess doom really is a big shot…
He’s really shooting for the stars
He definitely gave this run a shot
Doom turned bloodborne into a big game of shoots and ladders
Okay that’s all I got, JK Leeds take over please
Don't worry jk sends me plenty of puns after the videos are live :P
