He does a great job but I do feel bad that people call him Jesus or see his face when they pray, etc. That's totally misguided. He's an actor, a good one, but he's not Jesus so we shouldn't put that on him. Please separate the actor from the Savior. They're not one and the same.

By saying "When he said he would return, he meant that the internal Christ of each one will return," YOU are putting your own spin on things. Yes all of us require humility and to work, doing the best we can for our families and our fellow man, following the second great commandment to love thy neighbour as thyself. And to say I have not understood anything - who are you to judge? You don't know anything about me at all.

We love you Jonathon! I pray that people remember to separate you from the messiah. You can’t be someone’s savior if you too need a savior. I have struggled for years with boundaries with others. I find a friend in someone and I accidentally let them to far into my life. I can’t be someone’s everything so I’ve had a lot of heartbreaking conversations that left me feeling bad because I hurt someone without meaning too. I so much want to resemble Jesus that I forget that Jesus had boundaries. He gave a lot of his time to others but he also went away by himself to meditate and to pray. He needed that time away because of how overwhelming it was. I see that in stardom. Everybody knows you and everyone wants time with you. But that’s literally impossible. And what’s really hard is that yes people look at you and have a mental image of Jesus, who they have always wanted to see but can’t physically see. I hope that people are respectful of you and applaud how you’ve handled all the stress and promoted Christ first. And from the beginning you’ve never claimed to be the real Jesus. Continue fighting to be closer to the real Jesus so that we see more of his qualities through both your acting and life. And if you make a mistake just know I and my family will still respect and love you. Not only as an actor but as a brother in Christ!

If someone says Jesus to him in a joking/knowing way, he doesn’t. But when someone is approaching him in a somewhat awed state and calls him Jesus: he humbly says “Hi, I am Jonathan.”

He’s taken a huge risk portraying Jesus in The Chosen. He’ll be typecasted for it. And that’s a death knell to an acting career. Will he be able to play a bad guy next? Will he be able to do risqué scenes in other movies? It’s difficult and it’s frightening. It won’t be easy to for him to shed the role off when a lot of people recognize him as the actor who did a great job of humanizing and making Jesus relatable. How can you come out of that? I pray God will help and guide him. May He continue to give him strength and resilience. God knows his name, knows who he is and knows his heart. I’m sure He will guide Jonathan through it all.
Honestly I sometimes picture him when I’m praying to Jesus, not on purpose, but because Jonathan’s portrayal of Jesus has left such an impact on me and made me feel closer to Jesus. I sometimes have to push his face out of the way in my mind (lol) so that the real Jesus knows I’m praying to HIM, not him. Still, I think what Jonathan has done so far is beautiful, and is bringing so many others closer to Jesus.

I've been raised a Roman Catholic and a believer in Jesus Christ all my life and As an actor/writer myself i love the show"The Chosen." Johnathan you play a great Jesus christ and all i can say is keep bring yourself, preach the word of God and help others as your doing and God will bless you!

Jonathan posesses rare gift. A kind and compassionate heart. He is also personally acquainted with Jesus, and this shows in his eyes. Some people in the cast have mentioned this before. This is what people see in him that draws them into watching THE CHOSEN.
Jesus saw the people of his time as sheep, scattered and wandering, not having a sheppard. He had compassion on them.
We have been called to a lost and dying world, and we must show Jesus to them. It is through our actions that we must represent Him. Because Jonathan looks so much like the artists rendetion of Jesus, people will be naturally drawn to him. The reason people love the show, I believe, is that they see the Bible come alive through it. The deciples are seen as flesh and blood people not unlike us with all our imperfections.
Jonathan must simply do his best to portray Jesus to his audience, and if needed, gently remind those he meets in person, that he is simply a person just as they are.

Jonathan and all his followers were very well chosen by Dallas, his wife and his team and the most great and powerful one, God, why do I feel that? Their acting pass to us a feeling that we're living every moment right next to them, and being transformed by God. I saw the 1st 3 seasons like....a desilion times(I know the word doesn't exist 😜) and I always cry in Jesus teachings and not just crying is a overflow energy crying, is beyond anything and I always learn something different every time, which never happened with other christ movies or series, is the way they do it, praying before, asking God to inspire them... I believe there's a reason why they do that, they want to be vessels of god to move people and change them and God is doing it, through them all. This documentary is achingly touching. A few moments that really impacted me: the part where Francis Chan says he would be too afraid to take on the role of Jesus. The part where Jonathan breaks down after climbing the Scala Sancta on his knees. The part where Sheila E. describes how she believed she was super woman when she was young and had to suffer tragedy to learn the truth. The part where Alice Cooper says his manager advised him his career was over when he turned to Christ. The horrible/hilarious moment when Jonathan realizes he has a store security tag in his new coat jacket just as he's about to meet the Pope. But the scene that truly broke me was at the end, when Jonathan's video diary follows his moment of final surrender. Beautiful. Oh - and the funniest part. Jonathan with his bestie giving us a California surfer dude version of Jesus performing miracles: "Boom!" Hilarious. Highly recommend.

I think Idolatry can be a thin line and I hope people don’t look at Jonathan from that place because it will ultimately take away from the genuine direct relationship with God in my opinion. If he is a vessel through which you see God that is beautiful but he is very much human and clearly different than Jesus in terms of his own unique personality and such. Fame can be a dark road but I believe the full story of The Chosen will have such a meaningful legacy on our culture.
God has “Chosen” you to do this and you are right where you need to be. This weary world has such a need for you now and the story you tell along with all the others. You’ve become a beacon of all that is still good in this world and the world to come 😊❤️. Keep doing what God leads you to do, I for one appreciate with all my heart the reminding of what’s truly important here and now. My sincere thanks 😊😊😊
Do any of us realize the pressure we have put on this man? He is NOT Jesus! He is an actor trying to use his talent to share THE MESSAGE of Christ with the world. Can you imagine the stress and anxiety we put this man through every time someone runs into him in his private life? This man and the whole company are doing a FANTASTIC job of bringing the BIBLE to life for us - should we not keep our prospective and pray for all the actors and staff that are doing this beautiful job of helping us to see the life of Jesus in a more understandable way and do our part to help the whole world see the real Jesus and the love HE has for us all. I haven’t seen the movie/documentary, but what I have see so far from him and from this clip points more towards him struggling with fame but even more with people identifying him as Jesus. Unless we walk in his shoes, let’s not accuse him of pride. It’s always easy to do, sitting behind that little screen on a keyboard.

Not saying hes not but there was already controversy on the set of the chosen season 4 with placing in front of the camera symbols of sin, I hope this has nothing to do with this actor, tho the one who plays Judas was in support of sin with his posts on Twitter. Jesus once said "I never knew you..." Not everyone who calls Lord's name will enter the kingdom of heaven.

Jonathan had better be clear to his fans that he is just a man and NOT to be revered. His acting is superior but he is not Jesus. Fans who put Jonathan on a pedestal is worshipping another god.
Well, I think I disagree with you in words ... but not in sentiment. Sure people can put him on a pedestal (just as I put my wife on one). And people can revere him (as I revere my Dad). But people shouldn't confuse the two and certainly shouldn't worship Jonathan (remembering that true worship always has to do with sacrifice). That is reserved for God alone.

I wish I could share with you what happened to me 6-8 months ago when I saw an ad for The Chosen & immediately started watching. Have watched all 3 seasons 6 x! I’m a 68 yr old Christian & have been a dedicated follower & servant of Christ for 44 years. I’ll have to share more another time about how the show & Phil Wickman’s music came together at the same time to make a huge difference in my life & point me in the direction God wants me to go during the season of my life.

Love how you play Jesus, Jonathon. When I watched Season one of The Chosen when it first came out & I saw the scene with Mary & Jesus placed his hand on Mary’s hand. I said out loud, “That’s Jesus!” Before they even showed you playing Jesus. Just the way his hand was placed on her & he said, “That’s not for you.” He said it with such authority & compassion ( or you did) Then when the scene unfolded outside and he called her name & healed her, I said out loud, “That’s my Jesus!!” Right away I identified with the way you played Jesus ( with Dallas’ directing). I have loved watching the rest of the series over & over again! My husband too! Thank you for being humble & true to your Lord & Savior Jesus Christ in honoring Him as you play this role with the feeling of responsibility! It shines through. Always defer praise and point them back to to God. Jesus is God in the flesh...but not the Father. One God consisting of 3 Divine persons. Tell them to read the Gospel of John....📖✝️💥
Just finished watching all 4 episodes of this Docuseries, of Jonathan and Jesus, on Amazon Prime. The effect is what always happens, when Jesus speaks through his various people, not just Jonathan... LOVE: love for our Creator, Jesus, and people. My prayer: please Holy Spirit, do in me and all your people, what Jesus promised you would do: "take Jesus' words and reveal Him to us."
I love the way Jonathan Roumie portrays Jesus. He's got such a great personality and an authenticity about Jesus. And I love how they are also referencing Jesus in other areas even ones that are parodies that disrespect him so we can show everyone he's the real deal. I'm excited to see how more people will come to Jesus through this awesome show, especially people that dare mock him. You do feel this huge responsibility to portray him. I am not comparing myself to Jonathan Roumie, but I felt the same responsibility when I portrayed him in our small production at Mississippi College Spring '2021 in the musical "Godspell" where I played him and I'm happy to say it was a huge success! My girlfriend and I love this show so much :) Praying this reaches so many people.
I need to watch this! I am also Roman Catholic and Jonathan Roumie does such a good job at playing the role of Jesus (I admit I'm a fan of both of them). We can trust him not to try to "hide behind the role".
Those who believe in Christ, get baptized and continue to read the word of God on a daily basis; We know that our own self-willed character gradually disappears and to become more like Jesus Christ, yet at the same time KNOW that we are not GOD!. We are simply a branch and service for and through HIM to save guide and be an 'Ezrah' to others.

You were chosen to play Jesus. You are a reminder to people of Him. This is a good thing. You are not Him, but you are a lovely reminder of all that is good (our Lord). We need inspiration and reminders of truth and love. This world is pretty tough right now.
Hope the actor remains grounded and will not let fame go to his head. There’s so much danger there when a person becomes famous let alone from portraying our Lord, Jesus. Hope Jonathan is humbled by his celebrity status. People esp. fans idolized actors and famous persons but it’s dangerous when they regard him as the Messiah himself. God is a jealous God and we don’t want idolatry to set out of hand. He needs to remind himself that all his skills and talents are given by God. His success is to the glory in gratitude to the divine person he’s portraying. Praise and glory to Jesus 🙏

Johnathan don’t make Jesus into your self. Make yourself into Jesus believe the Traditional Catholic Church. IT is the absolute true church of St. Peter. Remember that. Praying you realize this! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
No one should call him Jesus outside the role, this is just an actor. It's start to look like some of ppl are doing idol worship not God.

It really ISNT that bizarre… peoples longing for Jesus… as being depicted by Jonathan… that is just SOUL anguish for the love of the Lord… not calling Jonathan the Lord, but the desire to be with the prince of peace…

Jonathan is an excellent actor and portrays Jesus fabulously.....but he is not Jesus and he has no divinity!
Do not portray Jonathan as anything other than an actor!
Richard Gere is not King David and Charlton Heston is not Moses and Richard Harris is not Abraham!
