Correct about Albuterol. it would have taken 2-3 minutes to take effect. But if there was a fast release stimulant in the bottle, it would act fast with a boxer late in a fight because the body is working 1000% to get everything it can get to feed. Science, man. Cheers.

The black bottle may have given Pryor a boost, But it didn’t take away anything from His stamina. I saw both fights back in the day. Alexis hit Aaron with straight right hands hard enough to snap Pryor’s neck. A jab is not a power shot to the forehead, but enough of them could be paralyzing. In December 1980, Pryor rejected an offer of $500,000 to fight Sugar Ray Leonard for the WBC welterweight championship because he wanted more money. When the WBC raised the offer to $750,000, he rejected that as well.[3] Pryor signed to fight WBC light welterweight champion Saoul Mamby in a unification bout for $1 million. The bout was tentatively scheduled for February 7, 1981. However, the fight fell apart when the promoter, Harold Smith, disappeared amid allegations that he was involved in a $21.3 million fraud against Wells Fargo National Bank. Smith, whose real name was Ross Fields, was later sentenced to ten years in prison after he was convicted of 29 counts of fraud and embezzlement.[4][5] Pryor was then offered $750,000 to fight Roberto Duran in April 1981, but Pryor turned it down because his new attorney told him not to sign anything until he worked out a new contract with manager Buddy LaRosa. By the time they worked out a new agreement, the chance to fight Duran was gone.[6]
Pryor knocked Him out faster in second fight after they checked all the bottles. He did not need anything to knock People out. He was a great fighter period.
Only one question for you, When Aaron pryor visited our country Nicaragua many years ago, Alexis asked to pryor gave a little drink of your bottle ia a way friendly, pryor be quiet, he could answer. I saw the Pryor eyes's , he became blind and crazy, this is power of Alexis. Aaron Pryor because of fight with alexis became crazy and blind I¡m not kiddy with you, it's truly. He's fake it the black of cincinnati,
Every time this comes up there is some idiot that says Pryor knocked him out faster the second time. You don't think the first knockout took anything out of Arguello who was already long in the tooth? What Lewis did was illegal and he was caught dead to rights. The only defense would have been that he didn't actually say that and HBO dubbed a voice in. If Lewis said that you probably would have believed that. The ONLY question is if Pryor knew it which going by what Manny Steward said he almost certainly did, Lewis and Pryor were garbage and you're a moron. That's why you barely made it through high school.
Pryor was the better fighter at 140 Period. Any Boxing expert knows that. You are the idiot. So Pryor Won all His fights on Drugs and became champion? The Guy was a great fighter period. He was a true 140 pounder Arguello was not. And He proved it by beating Him twice.
Pryor did not win that first fight fairly and only his diehard fans could deny that he did! Arguello beat him badly until the bottle was given to Pryor for an extra boost. Arguello was one of the great champions of his era, a fighter in the strictest sense-- Pryor was not! Pryor got hit a lot and was very unorthodox, acted strangely in and out the ring and probably should have been under strict medical care for much of his boxing career. He just was a very, very troubled fighter and his relatively early demise to overindulgence with drugs verified it !
I belivevthis is presto another dirty fighter of Panama he's the one who beat Billy to death most in the ring Panama toke the padding out of his gloves
Didn't need it in the second fight! The damage was already done and Pryor left the first fight without being checked for any illegal substances in his body!!!!
Could you imagine the spectacle and humor seeing Panama Lewis and Luis Resto working a corner in a 2020 modern day boxing match I swear it would be hilarious.
I feel for Resto but in the end he has nobody blame but himself...He knew what Panama was doing with his gloves but rather than showing some integrity and character he went along with it for selfish gain at the expense of someone's health and well being....
Yes like Luis Resto will say something negative about that dirty Panama Luis. They both should be ashamed for using dirty tactics and should had been put in jail for attempted murder. Ironically after that incident "give me the bottle the one i mixed" Pryor end up with drug problems. Too bad Pryor was never investigated or tested after the Arguello`s fight. He got away with it.
If the contents of the black bottle were given to Pryor after Round 11 or 12, what was it that enabled him to take Arguello's best shots? Arguello landed his best power shots in the middle rounds, not late in the fight. So this notion that the black bottle is what beat Arguello is laughable. Pryor's will and heart and hand speed and power late in fights is what beat Alexis.
PLEASE ! That fight DID NOT make THE GREAT AARON PRYOR. What happened in Pryor vs Arguello 2, huh?(And GREAT RESPECT to ALEXIS ARGUELLO) And why did Sugar Ray, Hitman and the WHOLE Division move up in weight class away from Pryor? Enough said.
Your ignorant, No one moved up, Pryor went Pro as a LW, then ran from a stacked LW division the best in boxing at that time to the worst division in Boxing, Hearns started at WW and moved up from there, Leonard began at WW and moved up from there, Duran was great at LW before Pryor's time, moved up to WW before Pryor won the JWW title, , so your comment is totally clueless. Make sense. I remember Pryor taking deep breaths after he drank from the black bottle. However how do you explain the sec. fight. No black bottle present.
It's "The TRICKS of the Trade". EVERY Sport has them. But, "The Bottle" is ILLEGAL ! Thats NOT fair. AARON did damage to ALEXIS ARGUELLO. GLAD He recovered GREATLY. ALEXIS IS A CLASS CHAMP !
Well, he didn’t do it the 2nd fight and. Alex was not a natural 140lb. And most guys don’t take their punching power with them when they move up. And the best fighters were dirty fighting
Yes it may have been too much of a move up for Arguello. But to say Pryor didn't do it the 2nd fight...well he just hid it better the 2nd time. Because they knew people were watching more intensely. Arguello knew it but what could he do.
It's a shame Pryer cheated cuz we'll never know who would have won in a fair match between Pryer and Argello. Although Pryer DID win the rematch fairly.

I didn't even drink but, used to spend mornings & afternoons talking to Mendoza and when the Resto / Collins fight came up, he mentioned knowing Louie & set up a meeting! Louie was cool, let me hold his championship belt & denied any wrong doing. This was before "Assault In The Ring" was filmed.
Have you ever heard of a beaten fighter, Alexis threw it all at Pryor in fight 1 and had no clue how a weak chinned guy could take those power punches, and keep coming, his heart and soul were stolen in fight one, he was beaten before he entered the ring in fight 2, and yes Pryor was high on something before, during and after every fight but the Young fight.
This comes out 37 years later after both Participants have died. Aaron Pryor won the fight and most fans at the time couldn’t accept Arguello’s defeat. #hawkTime
that was the first flight so I guess Emmanuel steward what are the greatest trainers in boxing history gave him the same thing in the second flight cuz the ass whooping was even worse ur so that bottle had nothing to do with it
Arguello congratulated AP after the second fight when they both announced their retirement. Looked like friends after too. If Alexis had a problem thinking AP cheated in first fight why call him one of the greatest after the second fight?
In other words, Aaron Pryor was a cheater. A total disgrace to the sport. A complete disappointment. Someone who didn't feel confident in his own skills and strengths that he had to recur to cheating. When you accomplish certain victories and then you're discovered to have cheated, anything you ever did was a lie and a farce. What a coward.

Oh yeah! It was definitely an amphetamine. It is still a major ingredient in Sudafed; therefore, also a base ingredient for cooking Meth. Amphetamines were given to German soldiers and Luftwaffa pilots to increase their stamina and power. As soon as we learned of it, we started giving it to what were our "Special Forces" at that time.
Pryor was downed 7 x in his career by bums, the straight right Alexis threw bent Pryors head so far backwards, it touched his back and he laughed it off, that's being high as a kite, never felt it, bums put him down and he laughs the hardest Punch I've ever seen him take, no way.
Gone Ballistik it was a year later and Pryor had Emanuel Steward as his trainer at that point. I don’t think Arguello was ever the same after their first fight, either. The rematch doesn’t prove that cheating didn’t occur in the first match. However, I think Pryor could’ve won without the cheating, too. He was a sensational boxer.
@@smoothALOE the first fight ruined arguello, the damage taken due to Pryors cheating messed up arguello. Alexis would have won the first if Lewis didn't give Pryor that bottle.

Arugello would have needed to remain on his feet, and just maybe he would have gotten a split decision.

If you watch the fight in the 3rd or 4th round is the first time Pryor drinks from the black bottle. At the end of the 13th round he did it again.
