Forgot to mention, for anyone on the fence about this camera, it also includes Davinci Resolve Studio in the box! 👀
Just make sure you use an UV/IR cut filter in sunny days or using a ND Filters, the pollution is pretty bad.
dude wtf why do you literally have only almost 700 subscribers.... you deserve WAYYY more
@edenem thanks eden doing my best 👌
I like how thoughtful you were in how you organized the video. You have some good points.
I appreciate that!
I love my pocket 4k! Regarding lenses, don't buy any Meike Mft primes... if you do, you'll end up spending all your money buying every lens they have! You've been warned. But, if you choose to ignore this warning, start with the Meike 25 & 50mm prime, they're brilliant. Great video by the way.
I saw tons of options from them and was wondering about the quality! Awesome thanks!
I think the sirui nightwalkers lenses would be fantastic on this camera. I’m going to get 16mm 1.2 first
What are your thoughts on sigma fp I'd imagine it to be better. Smaller body, full frame, Shooting proper cinema dng raw. Bmpcc4k still great though.
It depends maybe where you're priorities are. The FP is cool and I was looking into it when I was looking at getting my bmpcc4k. The body is smaller but less ergonomic and more clunky to handle, I like the grip on the 4k better for handheld work.
The bmpcc4k also gives you gyro stabilization, thr better menus and screen, and straight out of camera, the better more pleasing image.
The workflow with the FP and the drastic lengths you have to go thru to color the footage properly isn't something that I was interested in really.
Everyone loves those dng files but for me I just like the seamless workflow of BRAW and results for the money are insane.
FP is much more niche imo and the pocket 4k was already niche so.. haha yeah those are my thoughts on it. Definitely sick concept wise tho.
Enjoyed every single info m8
@@Hostile_Rampage glad to hear it brother!
Yeah, at this price point it's definitely peerless, but imagewise it also holds it's own with a lot of cameras many more times the price. I've had mine for 3.5+ years and still loving the image that comes out of it. Next step up for me was definitely getting some nice lenses (I started with Meike Cine lenses which was great for the money, but now I use Zeiss milvus f1.4s and they are just beautiful). my dream camera would be the new full frame Ursa Cine 12k, but I would still keep this camera and use it where it shines.
For sure, your a few years ahead of me in terms of experience so for me, I'll probably be using this as my primary camera for the next few years atleast. I have no reason to upgrade beyond it for my client work or youtube channel, I love the image! I also like the idea of smaller cameras you can decide to rig out or use alone, so I'll prob get some other mft/ crop sensor stuff in the future... I kinda like the extra range anyway haha! Probably will pick up a few of these pocket 4ks over the years!
I agree. I've been looking for an alternative for past 3 years (I do have GAS), and there is no better camera in this price range.
In a league of it's own for $1200
My Canon 700D beats it hands down in terms of image quality and that thing is 200€
@shueibdahir haha idk ab that, maybe you prefer the feel and look from the 700D which is cool but not a shot in hell on a technical basis that the image quality is better in any way 😬
@@TOMMYBMP i've got receipts if you wanna take a look
@@TOMMYBMP is there a way i can send you frame grabs?
i hv it...and its still the best camera around....for the price and what it can deliver....
hands down...best one there is...
Totally agree 👍
Subbed, because why not, keep uploading!
Thanks for the support brother and I'll definitely do that 🫡
I love my BMPCC4K. It's a shame that Blackmagic didn't maintain this form factor in their subsequent models, the 6K Pro and FF. These cameras are no longer pocket-sized; they look gigantic and conspicuous, especially when you add a cage. There will come a time when I'll have to upgrade, and I'll most likely have to buy something from the Sony lineup. And that's sad.
Yeah I do love this form factor, and despite the irony of the pocket name, I still see it as quite a small cinema camera that punches way above it's weight. It does bulk up with a rig and whatnot, but for my main camera, no need for it to be any smaller. I'm thinking of a nice fuji to compliment it, and then I'll be grabbing more of these pocket 4ks as my company grows!
@@TOMMYBMP here is no irony here, this is a camera that can be put in a wide jacket pocket, and in another lens and you get a picture of the level of Arri Alexa or Red Komodo, which you can't even put in a large backpack :D
Yep
shout out to the og tho
I wanna get one!
I started with the og and while I have 2 p4k's now for the past 5 yrs I still go back to the little guy, the image from the og is just so good I don't think I'll ever sell it.
Having gone through similar route as you i must say the distortion of natuve mft was a nasty surprisr after buying this otherwise great camera. Ikl watch your vifeo on fovusing whrn filming yiursekf as i struggke with this as well
Here's another tip that's not in that video. You can use an mini hdmi cable from the camera to your phone, and mirror the screen via the blackmagic camera app. I have not done this, but as of latest updates should be up and running
@@TOMMYBMP my god some many typos in my comment, sorry. I woke up in the middle.of the night and did not have my glasses on.
@@TOMMYBMP interesting about this approach. I looked into this but did not test it yet. There are no videos when someone is actually testing this approach since all videos focus on using the app for shooting with your phone.
@@diskomiks I had the same problem when trying to research the topic. I will get a cable soon and do a video myself dispensing if it can be done or not
If you seriously want to understand how cameras work down to the photons that hit the sensor, get into magic lantern.
Within a few years you'll how every single camera functions
@shueibdahir I've heard magic lantern before but don't know much currently, I'll look into it thanks!
I love magic lantern lol. If those take time to learn and read, they will understand FULLY
