What if match is fiscal year then u have to choose multiple conditional columns in power query as well as in Dax to reiterate the solution. Instead u can use edate function for such fiscal possibilities and then sort
When I try custom sort a column containing only the text which is the "month name" using power query, then follow your instruction by going to Add Column and then the Date dropdown selections, all the selections except "Parse" are grayed out. What am I missing?

my data does not have date column and i m allowed to only use dax
