There has to be some quad action to straighten the legs against resistance like that but that sure looks like there is a lot going on. There has to be a better way than that.
@stronghomegym yes, I like that the alternative has the same plane of motion. I needed a substitute I could use to replace the Leg curl and leg extension and worked in a similar plane
@@colbyerauyeah it’s defo not easy if you’re doing it from home. I personally like the cable walk backs. Have you seen the monkey feet before? They are actually pretty useful for curls and extensions and a fraction of the cost of a machine
Recently come across your channel! Loving your content so far. Informative home gym advice combined with clean edits and great humour! Recently bought a nordstrap as brilliant knee extension alternative. An idea I'd like to see you cover is how to have a power rack in a small bedroom space.....without it also turning into a clothes hanger or an arguement on how much of an eyesore it is! Maybe with a snappier title 😄
Appreciate that man... To be honest, if I were building one in my own bedroom I'd only do it if I got a PRx Folding rack... they use gas shocks so are super easy to fold away. They have patented tech meaning no other brand can do this so they all use fiddly pins which are a pain to fold away (meaning you probably won't). We've actually just been updating our review on folding racks after testing out a few more and I couldn't agree more with what I just said... check it out here if you want to know more... stronghomegym.com/best-folding-squat-rack/
Thanks for the recommendation, they are a nice looking rack. As you say ease of use is definetly a pro. I've struggled to find them in the UK, but perhaps I need to look harder. What are you thoughts on none wall mounted folding racks such as the Primal Strength or Corength (decathlon) folding rack? There's also the Pivot bed power rack which is funny expensive option - would love to see a video on that!
When you use the bands at 1:16 is working the posterior chain, not the quads

Yeah it's probably the worst one on the list IMO. But if you lack space and equipment it will defo work the quads- need to do high reps though
Agreed!
Great video! The info was exactly what I was looking for
Glad it was helpful! Have you find most alternatives are pretty useless?
