Good info. I like to thumb the spool and straighten the line out before the lure hits the water. It really takes a bunch of energy off the long casts and reduces the spooky splashes when I’m presenting

Great information Chris. Sometimes we get so caught up on technicalities we forget to just fish. The tips you shared are informative to say the least. Clear water tends to spoil us. So learning about muddy marsh water can change our game plan for the best. Challenge is a good thing it forces you to fish unfamiliar waters to make it to the next level. I’ve said so many times to increase your fishing level is to put an angler in unfamiliar waters and watch him adapt to the conditions. Time on the water is a must. Lots of variables as I said before just fish.

@@NextLevelFishingTV decided to fish old terminal causeway area. Caught a few short reds and then did some drifting for specks. No keepers but it was fun getting out!

The good stuff but you can’t find it here in the US. It’s called tasline out of Australia/New Zealand. A little expensive but worth every penny. Google them and you’ll find them.

Moon phases and weather is just an excuse for me why I didn't catch anything, or very little... :D That way it's not my own fault... :D

So do you believe lure color catches fish or catches anglers at the tackle store? Why with 4,000 different colors of soft plastics available do some colors work better than others? Why can your fishing buddy and you be throwing the exact same color, in the exact same water, at the exact same fish, and he catches the fish and you don't? I believe color shades in the right water conditions make it easier for fish to see the profile of your lure. I am not sold on fish seeing color. A Mexican Fighting Bull doesn't run at a matadors cape because it is red. He runs at it because that is what he is bred to do. A redfish eats a mullet or shrimp because that is what he is bred to do. So does color really matter? The Great Debate begins!!! LOL

Ha! You bring up a very interesting topic, one we could sit and talk for days about. My personal research and theory on if fish see color is yes and no. Fish have been proven to see color, but not in the way you and I do when we are buying lures. We obviously understand that humans only see visible light waves that stem into millions of different wave lengths when reflected or blended. Fish on the other hand see using a couple different methods. Fish lateral lines aside, most (not all) do have "cone cells" as described in "Sport Fishing - How & What Fish See". These cone cells do see color although in the ultraviolet spectrum. So in a short answer, yes fish see color but just not like we market our 4,000 soft plastics LOL. I also think habitat has a lot to do with how a fish sees. in the marsh white lures present the best UV contrast which in theory, is why I recommend that lure in many marsh systems. As far as tossing multiple lures at a fish at the same time...well that's a tough one. Fish react just like we do and I think lots of data is missing when someone says "at the same time". A millisecond difference could be the difference on a reaction, and so could fish positioning. The only way to really run that theory accurately in my opinion would be to make countless attempts and only accept the ones that present both lures with equal opportunity to the fish. Fish make decisions like any other animal, I think sometimes random choice finds itself in the equation somewhere down the line.

Not specifically talking about color, but if you and a buddy are throwing the same color lure, same brand at the same fish at the same time, it might have to do with more of the presentation. How fast or slow the lure is worked. How many twitches or is it a straight retrieve. Tends to make a big difference in my opinion. Great video by the way.

@@philguerrero4380 In my honest opinion I believe that presentation trumps color any day! I think if you locate fish that are actively feeding that how you present that lure to them will determine the outcome of your success. Again, just my opinion.
