This would have been awesome as they could have implemented many left over elements from the worlds fair into the third gate. It also would have caused for more updates to the Studios park as guests will be in the area for the worlds fair, maybe we couldve seen the addition of a land next to frozen for a 2025 opening rather than the current unknown opening we currently have.

I will always remember going (twice!) to the World Expo ‘88 in Brisbane, Australia. That 6month World Expo changed the city and culture of Brisbane forever, and for the better! Introducing widespread alfresco dining, entertainment, use of public space, public artworks and so much more. And for me as a young tween, it was a wonderland of culture, entertainment, innovation and technology! Absolutely a formative event in my life. The legacy of Expo’88 (other than what I mentioned above), was the iconic Southbank parklands, which is one of the greatest inner city urban development sites on earth. It is an absolute joy to visit the Southbank parklands, and walk through a new modern wonder, knowing the history of the site, and how it changed the entire city and culture of the place.

Back in the early 2000s Disneyland Paris and its Imagineers were asked to assist with the initial process on developing a world exhibition at Le Bourget which included a n area of Parc Courneuve. Lots of discussions and eventually we were part of the judging team to decide which of the competing architects had the best proposals. All I can say, is that the architects, all, had very different visions of such an exhibition. Got cancelled before it got any further. Cant recall why but probably world or French economy. Oh wow, I had never heard of this! Thanks for sharing Tony! I think the world would be a better place if Imagineers collaborated with outside projects more, Paris saw this happen with the "new" Villages Natures Resort, where ex-Imagineer Joe Rhode!

There are several examples of collaboration with outside entities one of which was a restaurant at LAX. There are more but I just cant recall.@@themainstreetnews

Oh there definitely are a lot more! The Anaheim Stadium is another, if I recall correctly!

Even with the 2025 World Expo cancelled, I think it could inspired a future with an EPCOT community and theme park hybrid for Disneyland Paris’s east lot.

Well, if you’ve been around the channel for a while you’d know that the third park was always going to be Westcot! So yeah, what you’re saying makes a lot of sense!

@@themainstreetnews 16 years until 2040, many technologies will appear, no rush, the place is virgin, the potential is enormous. To focus on the futur not on the past, you said Westcot, I don't believe because Europa-Park, PortAdventura have already this theming, It is an old fashion concept. Now is technology, learning IA, game and entertainment.

If Paris already had expo 2025, would the ICC gave LA the 2024 games and Paris 2028 because a World's Fair is already a large investment or since technically it was on Disney property it would be fine to do both back to back

I’m not really sure. I guess the Olympics also played a big role on having the proposal cancelled

@@themainstreetnews As I recalled, the Expo & Olympics were competing at the same time. Unfortunately medias were more attracted to the games. There is more money to be made and more perks to give key opinion leaders with the corrupt games.
I was in favor in World Expo as it is more "clean" and with all the infrastructures already built it would have speed up the opening of the 3rd gate by a decade....

Disneyland paris needs a Epcot - showcase like they do in florida, id love to see European countries in the paris showcase, with countries like GB, Norway, France, Amsterdam, sweden, Spain, etc etc then maybe put a Soarin ride in the paris epcot , Test Track, or Guardians of the Galaxy, or Tron, i feel the usa park get more than paris park has
