+Al King I'm not completely sure, but this might have been mixed by Kurt Ballou who has some awesome drum mixing abilities. Also some samples might have snuck their way in there.
It's not impossible, but I just doubt he flew out from Boston to mix a live show at a studio in Vancouver. Especially considering he his touring schedule with Converge, and the fact that he produces almost every hardcore record that comes out.
Tripp Nickerson You don't have to travel somewhere to mix an album. Someone sends him the stems and he works his magic. Converge is barely even touring anyway, and he literally has a hand on anything Nick Yacyshyn plays drums on.
It's awesome to see this dude smashing the drums like no tomorrow, and fucking enjoying every moment. For fuck's sake, he smiles! Excelent performance.
Can't wait for the Sumac album to come out, the collaboration between this guy, Russinan Circles's bassist and Aaron Turner from Isis shall be a monster!!

Phenomenal. I'm always looking for new drummers to draw inspiration from. Grew up idolizing guys like Clive Burr, Neil Peart, Phil Taylor, and Tomas Haake. Watching this guy not only gives me chills but makes me think he might be remembered as one of the all-time greatest some day.

I would give ANYTHING to be able to drop the final TXBK EP into Logic, sync each track to a click and try my best to learn the entire thing part by part...or anything he's recorded for that matter. His parts are SO much fun to play but he speeds up and slows down organically so it's easy to lose the feel of the song and get lost. I also hate having to press the spacebar and scramble to hit the first note, hopefully on time and at the perfect tempo, rather than have a click track guide me in and keep me on time. If that's not a first world problem, I don't know what is lmfao

I think he made a mistake once when he was 7. Seriously though I love Nick, have always admired his drumming and was a huge textbook tragedy fan. This seems every bit as good if not better. Still dont get how he is able to get such good tone and balance out of his kit while playing what he plays. And to not get tired. I would be fucking out of gas after 2 of those songs. Its not like hes fucking jacked or anything. Yet he plays like he is.

@@DreCarvalho I'm a fucking die-hard fan of Ben's, he's just mind-blowing, and simply an all-around swell guy, but even I have to admit that Nick's internal clock is amazingly stable and consistent, especially for what he does probably even more so than Ben's; Nick has absolute dynamic control over his attack no matter what surface he's hitting, and I've yet to see him screw up even once. He's a prodigy. But I just love Ben, it's hard to compare them. Let's just say they're both on a whole different level. Admirable and inspiring.
@@Hontonoki Thats a toss up. Ive seen both live and neither missed a beat that i caught, both are super technically proficient and both have immense power and speed. That comparison boils down to taste more than skill. Ive been playing about 15 years and both completely had me in awe.
