60 years old and disabled in a motorcycle accident. 11 surgeries in last 10 years. Getting able to get about 4-5hrs a couple days a week. Have watched plenty vids to see if I might be able to supplement $$$. Not wasting my time no more. Watched quite a few videos of yours today. Skipped around to tell you the truth to see if I like your style of explaining consistently. I approve. My first of many questions is, if you tell me to ask you a question to get it answered in private, I don’t know how to do that. I’m using my iPhone mirrored to my large screen tv to watch you. So maybe you can tell me how to ask questions that I know you would answer, but kinda privately. The way I found you was all the searching for tools to get started. The outcome is the the hypo 0.2 is my weapon of choice. Looked for vids of that, and found you. The private question is how do you figure your customer charge. Is it by hour or? I’m gonna blast also, got all that figured out. (Check our Tacoma Company. Mr. Mike and his daughter Kelly make in house specialty retro fit parts to make HF crap blast cabinets into a tool to compete with the best.) probably gonna stick to motorcycle parts from small to frames. The accident I had was testing a bike I just finished refurbishing due to huge oil spill over 3 lanes of traffic. I had all 4 Masters Degrees in Harley Davidson Tech. So a question you can answer now, what brand powder is your most used company, then, when are you gonna rate the different guns that you mentioned in 1 vid. I’m sure it’s gonna be after your surgery. 100% as always i am learning to powder coat very new to it, i only watch your powder coating vids because your the only one i have found the shows you how to do it. So i would like to say a big thank you for the help.( plotter on order lol).

Hey, I ran into something last night coating some BMW Wheels. I was doing a partial cure before clear and when I opened the oven smoke started just pouring out. I assumed at the time it might of been a bit of the OEM coating that was missed during blasting. Checked over the wheels and they looked ok. Today I was spraying the same color over some new stainless that I just blasted and it happen again. The Color is Black Bronze II from Prismatic. Have you ever seen this before? My first thought also was Maybe I was too hot for it and doubled checked the spec sheet and its 400.
Yeah black bronze will smoke a ton lol. Not a problem, so nothing to worry about
I feel so bad dude cause I love you too death, but I can't finish watching this. It's two and a half hours long, I don't wanna miss anything pertinent, but then everyone is asking questions that don't relate to THIS EVENT. 🤦🏿♂️ I'll watch it in sections lol, but you're the best bro, keep on teaching us.
any recommendations on a gun/starter kit? Something that I could use for home use, but could use on a production basis if needed.

Great content yet again, I wish my current work schedule allowed me to watch live.
I have to say that I think your How To’s and Q&A’s are better than any I’ve seen on YT, and I’m constantly looking, trying to do my absolute best to learn everything I can as I progress so as to either avoid mistakes due to inadequate knowledge or recognize problems as they occur and know how to correct them. I can’t express my thanks enough.
Also love that you are/were a drag racer. Former NHRA Track Rat myself (worked the tour as a merch guy for many years)

Very informative video man fair play I asked afew questions but they where all answered in this! Did you learn yourself how to powdercoat(also this was answered) and how long until you got good enough to open your own business? Trying to not ask stupid questions and questions you answered already 😅 how much money did you invest to start your shop in the beginning? Do you just do automotive parts or would you take on gates and the likes?
I am pretty auto based. I dont do much else.
BUT that being said, startup costs were around 5000 including all the little stuff. made a booth, bought an oven, bought a gun and some stuff I needed in the mix
had someone else do my blasting for a good while before I got a big compressor and cabinet

@@UnknownCoatings that would be amazing would love to make one and see the difference between them and sorry for another question on the 02 led the tip when u take it apart to clean there is a 3d printer fan blade in the tip does the older style use that like does it help or a gimmick
Ideas for videos: Retro-fitting the current Columbia Coatings 1# and 2# hoppers to the 2 tube system.

Ill see if I can get my buddy to bring one of his down. I) use the old ones so i dont convert em but I know he has.
