For when you get to Milan, your challenge A should be to revenge the meddling of the French & Austrian crowns in Milanese affairs + independence, & own all of their lands, & Challenge B, be the only Christian empire in Europe (so no nation can have over 1000 dev, destroy (or be head of) HRE, etc).

The transfer subject expansion bit gives you way bigger return on investment in Scandinavia. remote enough from the HRE that it causes pretty minimal AE as compared to what you’d get from Burgundy

I have a real technical question to @RedHawk and you fellow viewers - beside cosmetic reasons what are the real benefits of cultute converting and what are the requirements to do so? PS. My OCD brain would love if @RedHawk has set that goal to one of his future played countries
Provinces of non-accepted cultures, have some reductions to tax and manpower, also accepted cultures can get bonuses to these - so culture converting to an accepted culture gives more bonuses (also less unrest). Accepting a culture also does this, but you are only given a few slots to accept cultures - so its generally better to convert cultures that don't make up much of the development in your country. Only requirement to culture convert as far as I can think is just the diplomatic power it costs.
In addition to bonuses from accepted cultures, the late game has a Nationalism CB that greatly reduces warscore cost for provinces of your culture group. This can be cheesed some by culture converting. It's not really something for casual play though.
Culture converting only removes wrong culture malus, which is -33% manpower, so not generally worth it to do. Iirc you can culture convert any province you've already religiously converted, but if you're going to do it (for a one culture run for instance) you should do it in provinces next to your primary cultured provinces, as it reduces the cost
There are specific play throughs where culture converting has legitimate bonuses, such as Manchu/Qing to increase your banner unit force limit. Also it's good for diplo mana banking, but that is rarely useful unless setting up to rush a diplo idea group.

Burgundy when I first started playing. This was my first Ironman I tryharded so hard to get lothairs legacy ahhhh. After that I went with Bosnia(no mission tree, disappointing!!), Castile, Livonian Order, Korea, Shun/Shan(short mission tree), Kham (Tíbet ideas are bad lol), Timmurids, Shirvan(no Missions but damn are the ideas good!), Bayreuth/Franconia(very similar idea set but I'd rather have religious Unity from bayreuth then cav-combat from Franco), Hisn Kayfa(nice ideas and for Salahuddin!), Ethiopia(such an amazing experience), Karelia(My Scandinavia is Orange and the flag looks cool), Yaka(Oh boy should have picked Kongo..), Mali(god these rebels ugh!) and Shammar(Screw you Najd, my Arabia is sunny yellow!) . One of the best and challenging experiences for me ahh so good. Always a nice playthrough to have!
I would never play EU4 that fast, I usually like to play at 2 speed, and enjoy every moment... I even sometimes spend time in renaming my regiments here and there. But then I understand the urge to rush for a video like this. Great gameplay!
Haha Lorraine is literally the French name for Lotharingia, or Lotharingen in German. I don't know for sure but I guess they're direct decedents of that line

i know its quite far away but as the ottomans you should: try to form rum or go orthodox and form byz (maybe even both) then try to join the hre and become emperor then dissolve it bonus goal: conquer the entire balkans, anatolia, egypt and mashriq regions also try to conquer vienna aswell lol
The video just starts and it's already throwing plain wrong facts around. Lorraine is IN the HRE in every possible way, regardless of whether it is in union under someone else or not. What the mapmode means with the stripes is that the provinces are under control of a non-HRE country, that's all.

Caravan power is the land equivalent of ship trade power. It's usually for land locked countries
Not really it gives you trade power in a node if your merchant is steering it towards a landlocked node

If your overlord lets you go, you loose all the nations that supported your independence and you‘ll have no allies. Therefore I wouldn‘t recommand it.
