When it comes to "paper vehicles", I am okay with them as long as they are both somewhat realistic (ie had actual mockups or models made, have reliably documented stats, and were in serious consideration for production) and are being used to "pad out" a tech tree that is missing vehicles in certain roles and tiers. Nations like America, Germany, and Russia dont need paper vehicles because they already have ample options to fill out their tech trees, whereas I think nations like Japan and Italy should get a little more leeway. When push comes to shove I'd rather see a few prototype/preproduction tanks in the game than half of the nations tech trees being full of lend-lease/imports.
F4EJ-KAI did not receive any smart bombs because someone noted that they never had those installed, why not give it that time just for the balance of CAS, since we also do not have any good AA - we could at least have nice plane compensating lack of it... but now, it is not historical... now after ~1,5 years (?) they gave us completely paper F16 with imagenery loadout, instead of giving Mitsubishi F-2 or prototype of it.
@Nanokuu to be fair on the f2 I think it might be the case if it would be too strong at this point in time. I see people saying that it would have to be nerfed alot if added.
@@Nanokuu iirc this has more to do with the legal restrictions imposed on the JSDF by their post-war constitution. Technically, they're not supposed to have offensive ground attack capabilities at all, so no bombs...but anti-ship and anti-tank missiles, as well as depth charges are allowed as they can be considered "defensive" weapons for protecting Japan from invasion.
I believe lend lease stuff should pad out any lacking tiers. Japan doesn't really have a good arsenal of prototypes to choose from. Maybe a South Korean line could be a solution.
If japan should get any new mechanic before everyone else it should be the AESA radar system in the F-2. Considering that it was the first combat jet in the world to have it installed at the time.
@@axeavierAside from the type 89 being wire guided: it can no longer fire missiles on the move, which it used to be able to do. It cannot raise or lower the missiles in a reasonable amount of time (2° elevation speed on the missile pods). It uses apds belts which are famously unreliable now with the realsh(i)tter system, and does not have automatic target tracking of any sort. RIP bozo ig.
i started with germany and then changed to japan because everyone in that time sayed japan was pretty bad for newbies because planes were like paper, i wanted something challenging, and what happens is that i fell in love with it, i have all the air tech tree research and spaded and tier 4 tanks , i feel so bad that japan really gets nothing new every update for air and that ground is still with lack of balance in some br. i tryed naval but not newbie friendly and difficult to get something in the first tiers (more or less waste of time). Sad that Japan air is easy to grind but after that you get nothing new, i wouldnt mind getting some jet planes stolen from other nato countries even if in reality they dont own them like the japanese F16.
In future Japan will get F-15 and F-35. Which is top vehicle for other NATO nations as well anyways. So you get a top point where you can rival others. Not sure about the ground, there's lots of vehicles (SAM, ATGM/SAM kind of) to be added too.

Tier V only liked Kikka, F86 is not that bad but could be better, R2Y2 only was good for me in sim, what a beast, Tier VI is just pain, no countermeasures, tier VII is bomb simulator, Tier VIII is what you want it to be
TEC finally hitting the real issues. Japans top tier AA is Strela level bad, if not worse. It’s top tier ground is great with the exception of that. Also the whole issue with the Type 90’s armor nerf, which should be on par with the 2A4 where the JGSDF literally showed in testing could withstand the Type 90’s own top round and a little more but War Thunder says is inaccurate. Let that sink in. War Thunder called the JGSDF, a professional army (one of the most professional in the world at that mind you) inaccurate in testing the armor of their own vehicle in recorded tests.
Japan is a cool TT because it has so many fun and unique designs that at one point or another have been really nice to play. Unfortunately there are just as many missing, nerfed, or forgotten vehicles. In every branch, there are relatively simple changes that could be made to improve the overall experience. In Air: Add anything that ever mounted a bomb. Buff / fix the 30s. Fix the J7w1 flight model. Add prototypes, trainers, and tech testers/demonstrators with questionable (but realistically possible) loadouts instead of things like the F16AJ. In Ground: Add more fun low tier vehicles (Ke-ho) and put the chi-he(s) back down to 2.3. Add a squadron vehicle. Give us the other two missile systems mounted on toyota mega-cruisers. Add the type 81 AA (if the f16AJ isn't a problem, then this shouldn't be either). Give the type 93 its smokeless missile (If I'm remembering this correctly). Give the type 90 & Type 10 correct armor layouts relative to their own shells (as described by the JGSDF), buff the reloads to 3.5 and 3.25 respectively, fix type 10 mobility, and Increase BR accordingly. Finally, add more prototypes, there are plenty to choose from. Naval: The 25mm AA guns currently have more pen than the 127s. Please find a way to make the 127s do something. It's actually more efficient to use the AA guns sub 2.5km than it is to use the main armament. And the torpedoes aren't much more than a gimmick in RB. Helicopters: Send the Huey the way of the Ha-go and/or add a better premium Heli. Entire tree: Add a subtree. Thailand would be preferred in order to skip the controversy of adding Korea, but I'll take whatever is given. There is currently a Forums topic relating to a Thai subtree if anyone would like to read/view more on the subject. Some of these things are more unreasonable than others, but that comes with the territory.
the f-16aj is at least a real ish aircraft (the aircraft was just a F-16A prototype converted to try and get Japan to buy the plane), but in game is entirely incorrect (It could carry like 2 missiles and had no radar) also the 25 naval AA should be a lot shittier than it is in game. and sadly a thailand subtree wouldnt really fit, theres no actual connection to the 2 nations militarily, thailand would most likely fit into 3 trees, USSR (ukrainian tanks), America (M60) and China (VT-4)
@@magnum6763 Thailand was allied with Japan during WW2, which should be enough. And I don't see gaijin adding Ukrainian developed vehicles to Russia within the next few years. Chinese vehicles getting left out wouldn't be an issue (although I don't see why they couldn't be introduced after China gets them considering that China already has Japanese vehicles).

And yea, ukr vehicles prolly wont be added to russia any time soon, but it is the only logical place for most of the Ukr indigenous vehicles like the T-84, being a modernized T-80. And China gets Japanese vehicles because historically they yoinky sploinked them post WW2. The ROC and PRC got everything from planes to tanks and even ships (notably the IJN Yukikaze), and in very large numbers. A lot of Japanese planes and tanks, which were taken from IJA units in China and Manchuria. These vehicles saw combat service in the Civil War (both sides), and were important parts to China and the PRCs military technology at the time (the majority of the tank forces of both consisted of Chi-Ha's and Ha-Go's). These were actual vehicles that were actually used in combat. Japan getting a VT-4 would make absolutely no sense, same with M60s because well they are M60s, as any US, Germany or Isreal player knows, M48/M60s are horrible vehicles and should be avoided at all cost. and the stingray? you would be insane to say that the Stingray, a light tank offered for the AGS program shouldnt be in the US TT.
I just wish they would commit one way or the other. If they wanna go purely historical then add the Ka-to and Ho-ru, type 74, Type 56 (105mm). If they wanna allow paperish vehicles allow them too, at bare minimum people want the O-I

idk if you mentioned it, but the one thing that I can sorta defend gaijin on is the fact that (in comparison to every other nation in War Thunder) the JDF just didn't make a lot of vehicles to begin with. They were heavily limited in terms of tank and plane design until the later cold war when the Type 74s could be produced, relying primarily on things bought from the US.
One of the biggest issues of japan is the lack of options, the low-mid tier ground forces dont have more than a handfull of possible non paper tanks that could be added but wouldnt fill the gaps, japan cant really get any sub tree nation because there arent any that would fit. If you want to give japan a heavy tank then the O-I would be the only option really

@@SatouShiori This is correct, the "boxes" you speak of can be a storage but can also be installed with composite armor, as a matter of fact the LFP also has composite armor (for the 48 ton config at least) with the same effectiveness as the UFP composites, another fact is the 48-ton config has ERA placed on the turret's roof, I have also read that the roof itself has NERA likewise is found on the STRV 122 PLSS. Oh yeah, there's an image of the Type 10 having domestically made Hard Kill APS there's also a footage of the APS in action, not to mention RWS which was mounted on one of the Type 16 prototypes.

I really love japan despite getting barely anything notable in recent updates. I've went through the US, Germany, and Japan lines and I'm now done grinding. I've been having fun in the 5.7-6.7 ground bracket and love how my lineup for japan is 90% other nation vehicles. I bought the Heavy Tank no6 and like with any TigerE it is a beast which is only further bolstered by post war lend lease US vehicles. The only real Japanese vehicle I have is my CAS/fighter which can easily come out on top in most dogfights.
When it comes to stuff like the R2Y2, Gaijin has stated that they plan on removing them, but they have stated that only when they can find something to replace them will they remove them
I started WT with Japan because I only wanted to play STB-1 (unfortunately, it's not enjoyable as used to be thanks to BR changes). When I know from the communities that Japan is the hardest and not friendly for new player, I realised that from the start, I am having a blast on WT. Also, 9:23 I beg to differ TEC, I remembered there's an event from Japan, where the giveaway prize is Blue camo for A6M5 Ko, a decal, an attachment, and title "Yamato Damashii", it only ask us to redeem a giveaway code and it worked! but I only got camo form A6M5 Ko and the title, don't know where is the decal and the attachment gone.
The fact about japanese 20mm shells not doing any damage was because gaijin in its wisdom forgot to add any filler and rounds were just hollow tubes, it was later revealed by datamining but gaijin in its neglect for japan also gave no single fuck to fix it for quite a while. Have it in your mind next time you will think that this company has ANYTHING else than profit on their mind aka they dont give a fuck about playerbase unless it means losing money.
Do you think Ground RB maps should have AI SPAAs that stay in spawns ? or a behind the spawn, out of the player area. I'm not asking for Pantsirs, but something like the AI in air RB or ground Pve. Just having a threat you can always rely on to bother the CAS or make them waste some munitions But did i miss Minor Nation Awareness Month or what ?
The main problem with Japan is that the BR balancing has nothing to do with how good the planes are. You have US players which are somehow some of the worst in the game who keep insisting on turn fighting Zeros in their F4Us which leads to the very funny situation of the A6M2 being 3.7 and the F4U-1 being 2.7. The N1K2s are 6.0 for some reason too with their performance not being on level with the Goodyear Corsair.
Never will forgive gaijin for over tiering the A7M1. It was at 4.3 in air RB then got bumped up to 4.7 which wasn’t terrible, then they put it at 5.0 and now every game is dominated by JU288Cs and fighters that outperform you in every aspect but turning… just because you can turn doesn’t mean you can take on any plane that vastly outperform you in speed and energy retention. You need enemies to act stupid and try to turn with you in order for you to get a kill most of the time. Typical “balancing” for gaijin.
Imma use this as a chance to rant as a Japan main, so please Gaijin, I’m begging for a top tier AA. Type 81, Type 11, Chū-MPM, just give more something to work with. Also, when will the F-1 and T-2 get their infrared guided bombs, and when will the F-1 get Aim-9Ls. Also, for the R2Y2s, can we please get the Fuji T-1 and Kawasaki T-4 instead please. STC when also. Also the Heli tree grind is insufferable. It took me 2 years to get to the AH-64DJP(inconsistent grind, but still grinding it quite often), and I only finished because of the recent economy changes. OH-1 Ninja when. Also, please give the Type 10 and TKX more than 40mm of steel of armor in their lfp. I can deal with an inaccurate reload speed since it’s still pretty fast. Also, RIP the Type 89, got absolutely ripped to shreds, especially with the recent atgm change. tldr where Type 81, Type 11, Chū-MPM, STC (Proto-Type 90), Aim-9Ls on the F-1, Type 90 infrared guided bombs on the T-2 and F-1, Fuji T-1, Kawasaki T-4, and OH-1 Ninja. Also please fix the Type 10s and Type 90s armor. And finally, rest in peace Type 89, you carried me to the Type 90s.

It did get bumped up a bit in br recently, but it still has a the Type 93 shell with 400mm of pen, absolutely amazing sights with gen 3 thermals, and it’s also pretty survivable. Although, the next patch should be lowering the cost of stuff soon, so it might lower the cost of the Type 16. So it might be a good idea to wait until next patch.

Honestly, as a japan main, I do love the tech tree ended up with 12 million (no premium acc or vehicles) sl grinding through it as there are certain vehicles( particularly the derp ones) that are an outright joy to play
Instead if asking why does Gaijin hate Japan you should really be asking why does Japan have such a lackluster military? Its easy to adk why Japan doesnt get fancy new mechanics but you have to remember that the JGSDF is rather archaic in terms of its force structure the adoption of the type 16 and type 10 was the single biggest push by the JGSDF to modernize its forces in the past 30 years.
It's almost like Japan's military is a defensive military... Or maybe it's the fact Japan is an island nation so a army isn't really needed. Or the fact the strongest military in the world has enough bases around Japan to completely protect the Japanese islands.
This might be Valid if Gaijin had actually chosen to give things like type 10 and type 90 realistic performance, or added a subtree, or added everything they could to the current tree, or adjusted rank 1-3 BRs to make for a better new player experience, or if gaijin could actually be transparent about why we have to spend months (years in some cases) throwing publicly available documents in their face just to get a vehicle up to the standard it should have been at on release.

If Leclerc can't get it's rapid fire mode and manually operated tanks don't get the option of lap loading then Type 10 and type 90 shouldn't get fast fire mode. @@nemisous83 no, my solution is to make them realistic. 3.5 is a realistic reload time for the type 90. 3.25 would be good for type 10 given that we know it’s faster. That’s not “fast fire mode”. That’s how they realistically should be able to fire in standard situations. Heck, bump the times up to 3.75 and 3.5, idc. And you’d obviously move up the BRs after fixing the tanks. Im not asking them to stay at the same BR as a BVM, because realistically the type 10 especially is miles ahead of a BVM. I just want realistically performing vehicles. All vehicles should be able to perform accordingly. Eventually we’ll get things like t90m or Leo 2A7. Those tanks are contemporaries to the type 10. People will notice if they have significantly less armor than they should, or worse mobility. Why shouldn’t Japan have the same access to realistic performance as a main nation? Does being smaller fan base mean that we should be ok with gaijin giving us the short end of the stick?
How do you figure? South Korea lacks any SHORAD equivalencies to things like the 2S6, ADATS, and the Tor-M1. Japan isn't suffering from lack of MBT's it's suffering from lack of Air defense vehicles. Japan still doesn't have a single plane with guided bombs and the only guided air to ground weapons they do have are on the F-16 in the form of AGM-65Bs. they also have no useful AA above 8.0 and no proximity AA at all.
@@RuseGuise If you're playing air japan is fine. their air-to-air armaments are workable. If you're playing ground japan has alot of very rough patches. at higher tiers their CAS is weak, they have no good AA and you don't have any vehicles that can really bounce a hit.
As a South East Asian from Malaysia and actively grinds Japan, just add a sub techtree of which the only logic and LEAST controversial choice is Thailand. Why not South Korea or other SEA nations? Incomparison to Europe and how Germany has apologised. People over here like myself we don't hate the Japanese but we dislike the Japanese government. I've been to Japan on holiday twice for your information like you need to know but just saying to say I have nothing against Japan the country or the people. Just the government due to not aplogising and overall acting like the actions never happened. Many people think like myself and seeing our nations vehicles in the hands of a former oppressors (fair enough the British also oppressed Singapore and Malaysia but the British are the ones that technically built both nations up. We still use colonial laws till today) Not to mention I like how some people justify Malaysia and Singapore in the Japanese techtree because "Singapore is pro Western" which is false. Singapore works with both China and the West and the population right now in Singapore is more pro China. Singapore is not Pro China or Pro West. Singapore is Pro Singapore. Malaysia sure had a few deals for Japanese arms but with that argument why can't Malaysia go into the Chinese techtree? Malaysia buys more Chinese equipment then Japanese plus Malaysia pro West? Bro if the MOD literally allows the PLAN (to my dismay but i see it as fair if the Americans are on our territory) to train and patrol in our waters then are we really Pro West? And the majority of the population is more pro Chinese leaning due to well Isreal is a farely big factor for Anti West thinking and about 40+% of the population is ethnic Chinese and Malaysia and the PLA work together quite a bit. If we were pro Western we wouldn't have military drills with the PLA only with the West but we have drills with both so? Justification where? If you want Malaysian and Singaporean vehicles just put them in the British techtree or for those wanting regionalism an ASEAN Techtree or put certain vehicles in the vehicle origin such as Leopard 2SG goes to the German techtree.
a friend and i learned that the Ho-I in japan has a APHE round that doesn't penetrate well, but can act like HE when facing an open top that has enough armor. all because the HEAT round was too slow and not consistent enough.

I entered a bug report that the Ki-102 otsu was missing most of its mission-critical weaponry (being a light bomber / shturmovik which doesn't have its bombs or the anti-armour rounds for its cannon). Also if China was to invade they wouldn't be invading Hokkaido they would invade southern Japan which only Type 74 and Type 16 operate out of. Also they would just role up to the beach without carrying out some form of SEAD, or air interdiction mission to take out key defensive points, decision making centers, and armories. Meaning an amphibious assault would largely be successful so Japan would have to fight inland which their force structure is woefully outdated In comparison to countries like China. You are using the same cope Taiwan uses to justify having outdated equipment. The point of modernizations Is to keep up with modern requirements. Even the lowest bottom barrel Chinese light amphibious tanks and IFV's have access to digital FCS, gen 2 thermal imagers. Where as Type 74's don't even have that it's using the same old FCS from the late 80's which even by the standards of the day was incredibly archaic.

@@SuiSideex The Tan-SAM C (Type 81) can fire without the radar. The optical director was on an external tripod when using the A and B version, but the C has it intergrated into the launcher , it would still be much better than the Type 93 "CCV, really?" Yes, really, what's the problem with it? The Komatsu B78 (IFV) wouldn't be worse than the Type 89, it would be equal if not better, it's way smaller than the Type 89, has around 30hp/t and the 25mm gun can deal with light opponents more easily, it also doesn't have the shit reload mechanic of the 35mm The Komatsu LAV is a weird one because it doesn't actually mount a launcher, it's just a guy holding it, so I don't think it will be added They could also added the unique Type 90 prototypes instead of just copy pasting them.
Type 90 and Type 10 are very interesting vehicles for Japan. But that's all I can come up for this nation, at least for Ground battles. Everything else feels boring if not terrible.
I will always say this. Japan is a very underrated tt, but the reason for this is because gaijin refuse to give Japan any love, whether it be incorrect reloads (type 90/ type 10 having a 1 second realod. there is video footage to back this up) or incorrect stats for engines/armour. for aircraft they refuse to give the f4s and F-1/T-2 correct weaponry or even give the F-1/T-2 there radar gun sights. imo if gaijin real wanted to fix the gaps in Japan they should add the ROK yer it's controversial but it will help Japan and also give anothe country appreciation there are only 3 nations I feel in wt that really get the short end of the stick, britian, Japan and isreil all 3 of them could easily get things to fix the gaps and lack of specific Vic's but gaijin would rafer focus on the big 3 and China there's one other area I think really suffer in wt which could be fixed by adding other nations but also ACTUALLY GIVING THEM CORRECT WAEPONRY the Swedish top teir air, I just spaded the aj37 and I've never wanted to throw my controller at my TV more than that bloody jet. 1 second reloads? I hope you have a citation for that one buddy because all sources and videos put the reload at 3-4 seconds. Japan suffered because the JGSDF is just a trash tier Army that is plagued with budgeting problems and a fleet of equipment from the 80's with little to no modernization efforts. Even the type 74 G Kai was deemed too costly to adopt even though the modernization barely brought the tank up to 1980's standards.

@@nemisous83 the "rapid fire mode" can be utilised much more efficiently in the type 10 and leclerc as they are autolaoders while the leo and Abrams are manual which relays on human ability which can lead to errors even without the whole rapid fire mode the leclerc and type 10 are supposed to have quicker reloads which again comes down to gaijin not bothering to give love to minor tech trees, yes you can argue it's for balance however both the type 10 and leclerc are very under armour and more or less rely on there relaods. in Japan's case this makes sense as they are a."self defence force" they are only allowed to protect there home islands as the ww2 treaty prohibits them from having any real army (idk if that treaty is over now and Japan is just used to this doctrine or the American government still won't let them have a real army)
But the issues is that japan doesnt have any good low-mid tier additions anymore, unless were gonna start adding more mystery tanks like the O-I and Chi-Se
As a Japan main, I really don't suggest any player choose Japan as the first tree to grind like me. It is for the player that already expert in the game, the newbies will be locked in a respawn-died loop until you somehow remember the weak point of every vehicle. For example, I can't any kill for 6 months when I started to grind, the type 95, 97 and 89 are the worst tier 1 tank in the game and it will filter out the 95% of unsuitable player
I kinda disagree with saying early tiers are lack luster, once you get the Ki-43s those things are useful up until at least 3.0-3.7 and by 2.7 you get the Ki-44 and the premium ki-44 is pretty cheap and worth it. A lot of people in early tiers try to turn fight everything and with how well both Ki-43 and 44 turn and imo better individually performing 12.7s than even Americans mostly due to the ammo belts I'd say Japan aviation is one of the easiest to learn. As for ground it's kinda a mixed bag, all the chi-ha are fun to play especially the second one you get and 3.3 I'd say Japan has one of the more consistent 75mm cannons. I can't really speak for above that since I've only just got to 4.3.
I don’t really blame Gaijin for not having a lot of anime promotional content for Japan. In my opinion and based off of my experience(kancolle), it’s Dmm’s fault. They like to restrict things to restrict people outside of Japan from using their website and playing games for wharves reason. If you look at their English site compared to their Japanese site (you may need to use a vpn connected to Japan since they will not give you access to it if your ip is not in Japan), they have a LOT more games available. Also, them cracking down on people outside of Japan is worse than you think, when I first started playing kancolle, I had to use a vpn, but that didn’t work because my time zone was not set to Japan. I’m not sure why Dmm has to be so restricted about their services. When gaijin and dmm wanted to do a collab, gaijin likely did not have the option to release they stuff to people outside of dmm/Japan. +I think dmm has license for a bunch of anime stuff/games, so they would want to have it exclusively to their site so they can make more money.
Recently I play Japan 8.7, because the F86 30. I love that plane. But the main problem in tank battles on this BR is that Japan can use 2-3 tanks, capable of dealing dmg to 9.3 viechles. Russia had almost 6-7 tanks and I always play against Russian tanks. The thing is, when im killed with Type 74 C, the STB-1 cant compare with other tanks in this BR. You just cant one-shoot almost nothing, even with Type 74 C, because of the shells.. At 10 games on this BR, we won 2 MAX. Because of superiour number of enemy tanks, that they can spawn and deal damage...
I really like Japan I was hoping after ALL these years they were going to eventually gonna put in ALOT more vehicles than what's there now. Its been almost a decade and Japan still got almost nothing really added to it and they are gonna actually take away the R2Y2 they said a little bit back.

I dont have problems with early japanese tanks since theyre good enough with ho-ro and those semi stabilized tanks that are always fun to use my problem is imo late ww2 and cold war japan tanks are always over tiered every time I really think the stb1 and type 74c should be on the same br as the leopard 1 and the E and F variant should atleast be 8.0 because being on 8.7 is just 100% uptiers all the time and its basically facing chonky mbts everytime and years of nerfs really hurt the fun in this tech tree
I have to kindly disagree with Mutsuki being well bad, at the point in time when it was added was fine, yeah it wasn´t two to three shooting beast as Ayanami and other destroyers, but it was fine. Just a small little speedy destroyer that I will forever prefer to stuff like Frunze or Leopard or even likes of Litchfield. But truth is that since the destroyers became much more tanky, the 120 kinda struggles, but then again you have SAP so you can just ammo rack stuff, since most of the ship still have ammo above waterline(Including you).

Yea no, that argument doesn’t apply here. War thunder isn’t realistic or historical. It’s a GAME, and balancing vehicles should come before anything. But no, because that would actually make Russia get stomped in game. They are inflated at literally every corner of the game, when every other tech tree is undervalued.
I have played all three Axis Nations. And if I've learned anything, especially with Italy, it's that it can definitely get better. At least in the top tier. Not even 2 years ago, Top Tier Italy was unplayable. Bad ammo, no armour, no good cas and also very few vehicles. But that all changed over time. Dardo, VCC 80/30, Ariete tanks with DM53 and the new Ariete AMV, Tornado, F16 and now the Freccia as the first vehicle with spike atgm and the first tech tree vehicle that has fire and forget atgms at all. All this has catapulted Italy from the worst nation to the midfield. There is still the problem of poor air defence and the helicopters would soon need a version of the A129 with spike ER, which would also be good for all other nations except Germany and the USSR. But all in all, things have improved considerably in a relatively short time, at least when it comes to Top Tier. And I believe that as soon as Gaijin is brave enough to offer a South Korean sub tree for Japan and a Hungarian or Spanish one for Italy, a lot can improve in a short time.
I main Japan and when I began I just played with my head cut off and as a speedy Boi because I knew I would die if anyone would look at me. Also once in a ha-go during realistic battles I was able to get 4 kills on Stuarts somehow so lol
I feel like there is no japanese vehicle before 6.3 that can be consider the best at something . The whole of tier 1 is lacking everything (at least france as armor) . Tier 2 has the chi-nu which is the first tank that isn't bad . Their AA are ok but german 20mm are just as good or even better . The chi-to are worst pz4 in every way . Chi-ri II is just too big . The M24 , M4A3 and M41 are good but not really japanese vehicle . the ST are ok perhaps may i say good ? And finally you can reach the first really good vehicle the STB-1 at 8.0 . You need to grind throught 70% of the tech tree to find a very good vehicle what a shit start .

Japanese reserve tier is actually not bad. The Ha-Go, and Ke-Ni is usable, the Ho-Ro and Type 94 is good, and the Ho-I is just outright OP. After that in rank 2 you get the Chi-Ha Kai, Chi-He/Nu, the Ho-Ni 1/3, and the Chi-Ha long dong. Rank 3 is also good, Chi-To/Ri, 76mm M4, M24, Na-To, they are all fine. And about the fake stuff. Like bruh, who cares. They are not OP, they are fine. Also, can we just stop this BS when you can repair a destroyed gun barrel/breech/engine/transmission/gun drives in less than 20s on the field while getting fired at and actually no crew gets out the tank to make the repair? Or reviving a crew member whos head got blown off by a 152mm round? Having vehicles that were partially assembled, or even just had a partial woden mockup is fine. Heck, even the fully fake Panther 2, and 105mm Tiger 2 is fine. They are not game breaking, they are just good tanks.

Well i have all tech trees without UK and russian vehicles are not that op, for example my favourite is type 10 (mostly because it looks so cool) NATO players are just dumb 0 noskills which can only complain about russian bias cuz they cant aim or think.

When it comes to "paper vehicles", I am okay with them as long as they are both somewhat realistic (ie had actual mockups or models made, have reliably documented stats, and were in serious consideration for production) and are being used to "pad out" a tech tree that is missing vehicles in certain roles and tiers. Nations like America, Germany, and Russia dont need paper vehicles because they already have ample options to fill out their tech trees, whereas I think nations like Japan and Italy should get a little more leeway.
When push comes to shove I'd rather see a few prototype/preproduction tanks in the game than half of the nations tech trees being full of lend-lease/imports.
F4EJ-KAI did not receive any smart bombs because someone noted that they never had those installed, why not give it that time just for the balance of CAS, since we also do not have any good AA - we could at least have nice plane compensating lack of it... but now, it is not historical... now after ~1,5 years (?) they gave us completely paper F16 with imagenery loadout, instead of giving Mitsubishi F-2 or prototype of it.

@@Nanokuu iirc this has more to do with the legal restrictions imposed on the JSDF by their post-war constitution. Technically, they're not supposed to have offensive ground attack capabilities at all, so no bombs...but anti-ship and anti-tank missiles, as well as depth charges are allowed as they can be considered "defensive" weapons for protecting Japan from invasion.
I believe lend lease stuff should pad out any lacking tiers. Japan doesn't really have a good arsenal of prototypes to choose from. Maybe a South Korean line could be a solution.

You forgot to mention that they get 2 camos for their tanks, green and brown, with one they have to buy. They also have very few decals.

@@axeavierAside from the type 89 being wire guided: it can no longer fire missiles on the move, which it used to be able to do. It cannot raise or lower the missiles in a reasonable amount of time (2° elevation speed on the missile pods). It uses apds belts which are famously unreliable now with the realsh(i)tter system, and does not have automatic target tracking of any sort. RIP bozo ig.

i started with germany and then changed to japan because everyone in that time sayed japan was pretty bad for newbies because planes were like paper, i wanted something challenging, and what happens is that i fell in love with it, i have all the air tech tree research and spaded and tier 4 tanks , i feel so bad that japan really gets nothing new every update for air and that ground is still with lack of balance in some br. i tryed naval but not newbie friendly and difficult to get something in the first tiers (more or less waste of time). Sad that Japan air is easy to grind but after that you get nothing new, i wouldnt mind getting some jet planes stolen from other nato countries even if in reality they dont own them like the japanese F16.

Tier V only liked Kikka, F86 is not that bad but could be better, R2Y2 only was good for me in sim, what a beast, Tier VI is just pain, no countermeasures, tier VII is bomb simulator, Tier VIII is what you want it to be
TEC finally hitting the real issues. Japans top tier AA is Strela level bad, if not worse. It’s top tier ground is great with the exception of that. Also the whole issue with the Type 90’s armor nerf, which should be on par with the 2A4 where the JGSDF literally showed in testing could withstand the Type 90’s own top round and a little more but War Thunder says is inaccurate. Let that sink in. War Thunder called the JGSDF, a professional army (one of the most professional in the world at that mind you) inaccurate in testing the armor of their own vehicle in recorded tests.
I love Japan, like there is so much more they could add but decide not too
Japan is a cool TT because it has so many fun and unique designs that at one point or another have been really nice to play. Unfortunately there are just as many missing, nerfed, or forgotten vehicles. In every branch, there are relatively simple changes that could be made to improve the overall experience.
In Air: Add anything that ever mounted a bomb. Buff / fix the 30s. Fix the J7w1 flight model. Add prototypes, trainers, and tech testers/demonstrators with questionable (but realistically possible) loadouts instead of things like the F16AJ.
In Ground: Add more fun low tier vehicles (Ke-ho) and put the chi-he(s) back down to 2.3. Add a squadron vehicle. Give us the other two missile systems mounted on toyota mega-cruisers. Add the type 81 AA (if the f16AJ isn't a problem, then this shouldn't be either). Give the type 93 its smokeless missile (If I'm remembering this correctly). Give the type 90 & Type 10 correct armor layouts relative to their own shells (as described by the JGSDF), buff the reloads to 3.5 and 3.25 respectively, fix type 10 mobility, and Increase BR accordingly. Finally, add more prototypes, there are plenty to choose from.
Naval: The 25mm AA guns currently have more pen than the 127s. Please find a way to make the 127s do something. It's actually more efficient to use the AA guns sub 2.5km than it is to use the main armament. And the torpedoes aren't much more than a gimmick in RB.
Helicopters: Send the Huey the way of the Ha-go and/or add a better premium Heli.
Entire tree: Add a subtree. Thailand would be preferred in order to skip the controversy of adding Korea, but I'll take whatever is given. There is currently a Forums topic relating to a Thai subtree if anyone would like to read/view more on the subject.
Some of these things are more unreasonable than others, but that comes with the territory.
the f-16aj is at least a real ish aircraft (the aircraft was just a F-16A prototype converted to try and get Japan to buy the plane), but in game is entirely incorrect (It could carry like 2 missiles and had no radar)
also the 25 naval AA should be a lot shittier than it is in game.
and sadly a thailand subtree wouldnt really fit, theres no actual connection to the 2 nations militarily, thailand would most likely fit into 3 trees, USSR (ukrainian tanks), America (M60) and China (VT-4)
@@magnum6763 Thailand was allied with Japan during WW2, which should be enough. And I don't see gaijin adding Ukrainian developed vehicles to Russia within the next few years. Chinese vehicles getting left out wouldn't be an issue (although I don't see why they couldn't be introduced after China gets them considering that China already has Japanese vehicles).

And yea, ukr vehicles prolly wont be added to russia any time soon, but it is the only logical place for most of the Ukr indigenous vehicles like the T-84, being a modernized T-80.
And China gets Japanese vehicles because historically they yoinky sploinked them post WW2. The ROC and PRC got everything from planes to tanks and even ships (notably the IJN Yukikaze), and in very large numbers. A lot of Japanese planes and tanks, which were taken from IJA units in China and Manchuria. These vehicles saw combat service in the Civil War (both sides), and were important parts to China and the PRCs military technology at the time (the majority of the tank forces of both consisted of Chi-Ha's and Ha-Go's). These were actual vehicles that were actually used in combat. Japan getting a VT-4 would make absolutely no sense, same with M60s because well they are M60s, as any US, Germany or Isreal player knows, M48/M60s are horrible vehicles and should be avoided at all cost.
and the stingray? you would be insane to say that the Stingray, a light tank offered for the AGS program shouldnt be in the US TT.
Japan is actually pretty okay in naval, once you get past the destroyers and early cruisers by playing AB with torp reloads.

idk if you mentioned it, but the one thing that I can sorta defend gaijin on is the fact that (in comparison to every other nation in War Thunder) the JDF just didn't make a lot of vehicles to begin with. They were heavily limited in terms of tank and plane design until the later cold war when the Type 74s could be produced, relying primarily on things bought from the US.
One of the biggest issues of japan is the lack of options, the low-mid tier ground forces dont have more than a handfull of possible non paper tanks that could be added but wouldnt fill the gaps, japan cant really get any sub tree nation because there arent any that would fit. If you want to give japan a heavy tank then the O-I would be the only option really

@@SatouShiori This is correct, the "boxes" you speak of can be a storage but can also be installed with composite armor, as a matter of fact the LFP also has composite armor (for the 48 ton config at least) with the same effectiveness as the UFP composites, another fact is the 48-ton config has ERA placed on the turret's roof, I have also read that the roof itself has NERA likewise is found on the STRV 122 PLSS.
Oh yeah, there's an image of the Type 10 having domestically made Hard Kill APS there's also a footage of the APS in action, not to mention RWS which was mounted on one of the Type 16 prototypes.

I really love japan despite getting barely anything notable in recent updates. I've went through the US, Germany, and Japan lines and I'm now done grinding. I've been having fun in the 5.7-6.7 ground bracket and love how my lineup for japan is 90% other nation vehicles. I bought the Heavy Tank no6 and like with any TigerE it is a beast which is only further bolstered by post war lend lease US vehicles. The only real Japanese vehicle I have is my CAS/fighter which can easily come out on top in most dogfights.
I'm in the exact same spot. The A6M5, A7M2, and N1K-Ja are great planes to fly at this BR.

I started WT with Japan because I only wanted to play STB-1 (unfortunately, it's not enjoyable as used to be thanks to BR changes). When I know from the communities that Japan is the hardest and not friendly for new player, I realised that from the start, I am having a blast on WT.
Also, 9:23 I beg to differ TEC, I remembered there's an event from Japan, where the giveaway prize is Blue camo for A6M5 Ko, a decal, an attachment, and title "Yamato Damashii", it only ask us to redeem a giveaway code and it worked! but I only got camo form A6M5 Ko and the title, don't know where is the decal and the attachment gone.

The fact about japanese 20mm shells not doing any damage was because gaijin in its wisdom forgot to add any filler and rounds were just hollow tubes, it was later revealed by datamining but gaijin in its neglect for japan also gave no single fuck to fix it for quite a while. Have it in your mind next time you will think that this company has ANYTHING else than profit on their mind aka they dont give a fuck about playerbase unless it means losing money.

The main problem with Japan is that the BR balancing has nothing to do with how good the planes are. You have US players which are somehow some of the worst in the game who keep insisting on turn fighting Zeros in their F4Us which leads to the very funny situation of the A6M2 being 3.7 and the F4U-1 being 2.7. The N1K2s are 6.0 for some reason too with their performance not being on level with the Goodyear Corsair.
I would love to see the Japanese heavies added, they would make lower ranks a lot of fun and add essentially mobile bunkers to the game
Never will forgive gaijin for over tiering the A7M1. It was at 4.3 in air RB then got bumped up to 4.7 which wasn’t terrible, then they put it at 5.0 and now every game is dominated by JU288Cs and fighters that outperform you in every aspect but turning… just because you can turn doesn’t mean you can take on any plane that vastly outperform you in speed and energy retention. You need enemies to act stupid and try to turn with you in order for you to get a kill most of the time. Typical “balancing” for gaijin.
Imma use this as a chance to rant as a Japan main, so please Gaijin, I’m begging for a top tier AA. Type 81, Type 11, Chū-MPM, just give more something to work with. Also, when will the F-1 and T-2 get their infrared guided bombs, and when will the F-1 get Aim-9Ls. Also, for the R2Y2s, can we please get the Fuji T-1 and Kawasaki T-4 instead please. STC when also. Also the Heli tree grind is insufferable. It took me 2 years to get to the AH-64DJP(inconsistent grind, but still grinding it quite often), and I only finished because of the recent economy changes. OH-1 Ninja when. Also, please give the Type 10 and TKX more than 40mm of steel of armor in their lfp. I can deal with an inaccurate reload speed since it’s still pretty fast. Also, RIP the Type 89, got absolutely ripped to shreds, especially with the recent atgm change.

It did get bumped up a bit in br recently, but it still has a the Type 93 shell with 400mm of pen, absolutely amazing sights with gen 3 thermals, and it’s also pretty survivable. Although, the next patch should be lowering the cost of stuff soon, so it might lower the cost of the Type 16. So it might be a good idea to wait until next patch.

Honestly, as a japan main, I do love the tech tree ended up with 12 million (no premium acc or vehicles) sl grinding through it as there are certain vehicles( particularly the derp ones) that are an outright joy to play
Instead if asking why does Gaijin hate Japan you should really be asking why does Japan have such a lackluster military? Its easy to adk why Japan doesnt get fancy new mechanics but you have to remember that the JGSDF is rather archaic in terms of its force structure the adoption of the type 16 and type 10 was the single biggest push by the JGSDF to modernize its forces in the past 30 years.

This might be Valid if Gaijin had actually chosen to give things like type 10 and type 90 realistic performance, or added a subtree, or added everything they could to the current tree, or adjusted rank 1-3 BRs to make for a better new player experience, or if gaijin could actually be transparent about why we have to spend months (years in some cases) throwing publicly available documents in their face just to get a vehicle up to the standard it should have been at on release.

@@nemisous83 no, my solution is to make them realistic. 3.5 is a realistic reload time for the type 90. 3.25 would be good for type 10 given that we know it’s faster. That’s not “fast fire mode”. That’s how they realistically should be able to fire in standard situations. Heck, bump the times up to 3.75 and 3.5, idc. And you’d obviously move up the BRs after fixing the tanks. Im not asking them to stay at the same BR as a BVM, because realistically the type 10 especially is miles ahead of a BVM.
I just want realistically performing vehicles. All vehicles should be able to perform accordingly.
Eventually we’ll get things like t90m or Leo 2A7. Those tanks are contemporaries to the type 10. People will notice if they have significantly less armor than they should, or worse mobility. Why shouldn’t Japan have the same access to realistic performance as a main nation? Does being smaller fan base mean that we should be ok with gaijin giving us the short end of the stick?

Japan still doesn't have a single plane with guided bombs and the only guided air to ground weapons they do have are on the F-16 in the form of AGM-65Bs. they also have no useful AA above 8.0 and no proximity AA at all.

If you're playing ground japan has alot of very rough patches. at higher tiers their CAS is weak, they have no good AA and you don't have any vehicles that can really bounce a hit.
As a South East Asian from Malaysia and actively grinds Japan, just add a sub techtree of which the only logic and LEAST controversial choice is Thailand.

a friend and i learned that the Ho-I in japan has a APHE round that doesn't penetrate well, but can act like HE when facing an open top that has enough armor. all because the HEAT round was too slow and not consistent enough.

Also if China was to invade they wouldn't be invading Hokkaido they would invade southern Japan which only Type 74 and Type 16 operate out of. Also they would just role up to the beach without carrying out some form of SEAD, or air interdiction mission to take out key defensive points, decision making centers, and armories. Meaning an amphibious assault would largely be successful so Japan would have to fight inland which their force structure is woefully outdated In comparison to countries like China. You are using the same cope Taiwan uses to justify having outdated equipment.
The point of modernizations Is to keep up with modern requirements. Even the lowest bottom barrel Chinese light amphibious tanks and IFV's have access to digital FCS, gen 2 thermal imagers. Where as Type 74's don't even have that it's using the same old FCS from the late 80's which even by the standards of the day was incredibly archaic.

@@SuiSideex The Tan-SAM C (Type 81) can fire without the radar. The optical director was on an external tripod when using the A and B version, but the C has it intergrated into the launcher , it would still be much better than the Type 93

The Komatsu B78 (IFV) wouldn't be worse than the Type 89, it would be equal if not better, it's way smaller than the Type 89, has around 30hp/t and the 25mm gun can deal with light opponents more easily, it also doesn't have the shit reload mechanic of the 35mm
The Komatsu LAV is a weird one because it doesn't actually mount a launcher, it's just a guy holding it, so I don't think it will be added

Type 90 and Type 10 are very interesting vehicles for Japan. But that's all I can come up for this nation, at least for Ground battles. Everything else feels boring if not terrible.
I will always say this. Japan is a very underrated tt, but the reason for this is because gaijin refuse to give Japan any love, whether it be incorrect reloads (type 90/ type 10 having a 1 second realod. there is video footage to back this up) or incorrect stats for engines/armour. for aircraft they refuse to give the f4s and F-1/T-2 correct weaponry or even give the F-1/T-2 there radar gun sights. imo if gaijin real wanted to fix the gaps in Japan they should add the ROK yer it's controversial but it will help Japan and also give anothe country appreciation
there are only 3 nations I feel in wt that really get the short end of the stick, britian, Japan and isreil all 3 of them could easily get things to fix the gaps and lack of specific Vic's but gaijin would rafer focus on the big 3 and China

Japan suffered because the JGSDF is just a trash tier Army that is plagued with budgeting problems and a fleet of equipment from the 80's with little to no modernization efforts. Even the type 74 G Kai was deemed too costly to adopt even though the modernization barely brought the tank up to 1980's standards.

Edit just found it: that rate of fire only achievable if the same ammunition is already preselected also it's not a sustainable rate of fire. The Leclerc has a similar mode of fire.
If we are going to use that logic then the M1 and Leopard 2 can utilized lap loading which is another unsustainable rate of fire hack.
@@nemisous83 the "rapid fire mode" can be utilised much more efficiently in the type 10 and leclerc as they are autolaoders while the leo and Abrams are manual which relays on human ability which can lead to errors even without the whole rapid fire mode the leclerc and type 10 are supposed to have quicker reloads which again comes down to gaijin not bothering to give love to minor tech trees, yes you can argue it's for balance however both the type 10 and leclerc are very under armour and more or less rely on there relaods. in Japan's case this makes sense as they are a."self defence force" they are only allowed to protect there home islands as the ww2 treaty prohibits them from having any real army (idk if that treaty is over now and Japan is just used to this doctrine or the American government still won't let them have a real army)

As a Japan main, I really don't suggest any player choose Japan as the first tree to grind like me. It is for the player that already expert in the game, the newbies will be locked in a respawn-died loop until you somehow remember the weak point of every vehicle. For example, I can't any kill for 6 months when I started to grind, the type 95, 97 and 89 are the worst tier 1 tank in the game and it will filter out the 95% of unsuitable player
I kinda disagree with saying early tiers are lack luster, once you get the Ki-43s those things are useful up until at least 3.0-3.7 and by 2.7 you get the Ki-44 and the premium ki-44 is pretty cheap and worth it. A lot of people in early tiers try to turn fight everything and with how well both Ki-43 and 44 turn and imo better individually performing 12.7s than even Americans mostly due to the ammo belts I'd say Japan aviation is one of the easiest to learn. As for ground it's kinda a mixed bag, all the chi-ha are fun to play especially the second one you get and 3.3 I'd say Japan has one of the more consistent 75mm cannons. I can't really speak for above that since I've only just got to 4.3.
I don’t really blame Gaijin for not having a lot of anime promotional content for Japan. In my opinion and based off of my experience(kancolle), it’s Dmm’s fault. They like to restrict things to restrict people outside of Japan from using their website and playing games for wharves reason. If you look at their English site compared to their Japanese site (you may need to use a vpn connected to Japan since they will not give you access to it if your ip is not in Japan), they have a LOT more games available. Also, them cracking down on people outside of Japan is worse than you think, when I first started playing kancolle, I had to use a vpn, but that didn’t work because my time zone was not set to Japan. I’m not sure why Dmm has to be so restricted about their services. When gaijin and dmm wanted to do a collab, gaijin likely did not have the option to release they stuff to people outside of dmm/Japan. +I think dmm has license for a bunch of anime stuff/games, so they would want to have it exclusively to their site so they can make more money.
Recently I play Japan 8.7, because the F86 30. I love that plane. But the main problem in tank battles on this BR is that Japan can use 2-3 tanks, capable of dealing dmg to 9.3 viechles. Russia had almost 6-7 tanks and I always play against Russian tanks. The thing is, when im killed with Type 74 C, the STB-1 cant compare with other tanks in this BR. You just cant one-shoot almost nothing, even with Type 74 C, because of the shells.. At 10 games on this BR, we won 2 MAX. Because of superiour number of enemy tanks, that they can spawn and deal damage...
I really like Japan I was hoping after ALL these years they were going to eventually gonna put in ALOT more vehicles than what's there now. Its been almost a decade and Japan still got almost nothing really added to it and they are gonna actually take away the R2Y2 they said a little bit back.

I dont have problems with early japanese tanks since theyre good enough with ho-ro and those semi stabilized tanks that are always fun to use my problem is imo late ww2 and cold war japan tanks are always over tiered every time
I really think the stb1 and type 74c should be on the same br as the leopard 1 and the E and F variant should atleast be 8.0 because being on 8.7 is just 100% uptiers all the time and its basically facing chonky mbts everytime

I have to kindly disagree with Mutsuki being well bad, at the point in time when it was added was fine, yeah it wasn´t two to three shooting beast as Ayanami and other destroyers, but it was fine. Just a small little speedy destroyer that I will forever prefer to stuff like Frunze or Leopard or even likes of Litchfield. But truth is that since the destroyers became much more tanky, the 120 kinda struggles, but then again you have SAP so you can just ammo rack stuff, since most of the ship still have ammo above waterline(Including you).

Yea no, that argument doesn’t apply here. War thunder isn’t realistic or historical. It’s a GAME, and balancing vehicles should come before anything.
But no, because that would actually make Russia get stomped in game. They are inflated at literally every corner of the game, when every other tech tree is undervalued.
I have played all three Axis Nations. And if I've learned anything, especially with Italy, it's that it can definitely get better. At least in the top tier. Not even 2 years ago, Top Tier Italy was unplayable. Bad ammo, no armour, no good cas and also very few vehicles. But that all changed over time. Dardo, VCC 80/30, Ariete tanks with DM53 and the new Ariete AMV, Tornado, F16 and now the Freccia as the first vehicle with spike atgm and the first tech tree vehicle that has fire and forget atgms at all. All this has catapulted Italy from the worst nation to the midfield. There is still the problem of poor air defence and the helicopters would soon need a version of the A129 with spike ER, which would also be good for all other nations except Germany and the USSR. But all in all, things have improved considerably in a relatively short time, at least when it comes to Top Tier. And I believe that as soon as Gaijin is brave enough to offer a South Korean sub tree for Japan and a Hungarian or Spanish one for Italy, a lot can improve in a short time.

I main Japan and when I began I just played with my head cut off and as a speedy Boi because I knew I would die if anyone would look at me. Also once in a ha-go during realistic battles I was able to get 4 kills on Stuarts somehow so lol
I feel like there is no japanese vehicle before 6.3 that can be consider the best at something . The whole of tier 1 is lacking everything (at least france as armor) . Tier 2 has the chi-nu which is the first tank that isn't bad . Their AA are ok but german 20mm are just as good or even better . The chi-to are worst pz4 in every way . Chi-ri II is just too big . The M24 , M4A3 and M41 are good but not really japanese vehicle . the ST are ok perhaps may i say good ? And finally you can reach the first really good vehicle the STB-1 at 8.0 . You need to grind throught 70% of the tech tree to find a very good vehicle what a shit start .

Japanese reserve tier is actually not bad. The Ha-Go, and Ke-Ni is usable, the Ho-Ro and Type 94 is good, and the Ho-I is just outright OP.
After that in rank 2 you get the Chi-Ha Kai, Chi-He/Nu, the Ho-Ni 1/3, and the Chi-Ha long dong.
Rank 3 is also good, Chi-To/Ri, 76mm M4, M24, Na-To, they are all fine.
And about the fake stuff. Like bruh, who cares. They are not OP, they are fine.
Also, can we just stop this BS when you can repair a destroyed gun barrel/breech/engine/transmission/gun drives in less than 20s on the field while getting fired at and actually no crew gets out the tank to make the repair?

Having vehicles that were partially assembled, or even just had a partial woden mockup is fine.
Heck, even the fully fake Panther 2, and 105mm Tiger 2 is fine. They are not game breaking, they are just good tanks.

As a Japan main with 1k hours of only Japan, yes i agree, the Zeros are powerful once you master them. But that's where it stops for Japan. It is the one and only thing that doesn't suck for Japan, as it's mediocre in every other aspect of the game
@@Kentai_Shimakazethe A6M2’s, A6M3 are the only zeros worth a damn, the M3 mod 22 is iffy, the mod 22 Ko/A6M5/A6M6 are worthless, once you hit the A6M5 you have the A7M1/M2 at the same BR that outclasses the zero in every respect so basically, don’t bother with anything after the M3
@@Thud105D A bunch of yapping. A6M5 Ko single-handedly carried my f2p journey of grinding tanks helis and jets for Japan, even back when their 20mm shots were nerfed to be unusable, tho now I have quit. If you can't make things work with the Ko, then that's a straight up lack of skill.

@@Thud105D I never used those planes like the A7M1 really. In my experience they aren't as 100% Japanese style to in the way they fly, roll, control and how much ammo they have. Sure they shred even tanks, but are no fun/challenge for me.
If you want to know who they favor look at the russian winrates in high Tier.
My T-80BVM is at a 70% something winrate and Im not a good player

Well i have all tech trees without UK and russian vehicles are not that op, for example my favourite is type 10 (mostly because it looks so cool) NATO players are just dumb 0 noskills which can only complain about russian bias cuz they cant aim or think.
