The tempo is very slow.
Thank you as always.🌈
@@carolynley7108 Not quite your tempo, hmm?
Very nice but I don't like the audio. Maybe it's my phone's problem? Soft part is too soft until you can't hear what note he is playing. Yet you still can hear the back ground noises?
please add this to the spirio collection!
I'm not sure when I've heard a pianist maintain a pianissimo and control it so perfectly as Lang Lang. This performance is a revelation.
Yes. Exactly!
Yes, indeed!! If you like this guy, try Seong Jin Cho's Clair de Lune.
SO much emotion. I listened to several performances of this piece as I am learning it and this is the most stunning
Listen to Debussy play his piece - 1914
I was just thinking that. When he goes from pp to sf he maintains so much control while sounding as perfect as can be.
I love the way this is played so differently by so many pianists. Every dream should be unique. Debussy knew what he was doing!
And Lang Lang's is the most other wordly.
Chissà quante migliaia e migliaia di ore di esercizio : le sue mani sono cresciute sulla tastiera.
@@Gruuvin1 although i love lang lang as a pianist, i think this is too sleepy and a bit on the slow side for me.
@@infamouslyfamous2134 "A state of imagining or thinking about pleasant things, as if you are dreaming." (a definition of the word "reverie")
I loved his pace at the beggining and the way how he makes the harmony shine at the end of the first phrases
I like the tempo- it suits a dreamlike state.
Lang Lang savours every note, and commands you, the listener, to be mesmerised!
He is a special artist!
Searched for this song, today… my Mother used to play this for my brother and me when we were young children…
She passed away 7 years ago… had wanted to listen to Debussy, and something sounding “Heavenly”… this is the b•e•s•t version (played on Earth!) I have ever heard!!!
I wouldn’t doubt if my Angel 😇 Mother helped me find this lovely, lovely piece, Lang Lang!!!
Comfort to my heart, joy to my ears, and uplifting to my soul!!!
Bravo, Bravo, Bravo!!! Love your version!!!
Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us! It means so much! You have nooooo idea!
Bless you, bless you!!! ♥️

Most pianists rush through compositions such as this. His touch is magnificent. Expressive hypnotic and true to the composer. He does Debussy brilliantly. I suggest you listen to his recording of Clair de lune as well. It will move you. Exquisite.
The finger control is truly exceptional. If you can't sleep in the night, play this again and again.
I agree. I don’t know how he does it!
he practiced a lot
@@sammiemao7448 ya think?

The more I play, the more I can’t sleep….it’s just too amazing
Debussy's music is always a "rêverie"... thanks to the musician Lang Lang who guides us so delicately through this infinite dream
Wonderful comment -- I agree.
He plays every note with love.
The best composer + the best pianist + the best piano = absolute wonder
Lang Lang is absolutely amazing. His interpretations for all composers are flawless
This is about as good as it gets. Virtuoso performance on a perfect instrument.
I played this recording for my father at his death bed. Thank you.
❤️🌟
I just told my family I want it played at my funeral. It really touched my soul.
😍
God rest his soul!
Lang, I'm officially, you're biggest fan! Thank you for sharing your gift with us. Many thanks to you're omniscient creator ❤ 🌟
I find this the finest performance yet of this sublime piece.
Fantastic Music - Fantastic Pianist
My dear Lang Lang, when I need peace, I listen to you. Thank you so much!
I’m pregnant and I let my baby listen to this from time to time. I think she likes it cause sometimes she starts moving :)
One of the best performances ever.
We played clair de lune over and over to our son in the womb for the same reason. We noticed that he kicked at the same point of the song.
A couple of days after he was born we played it again. He started kicking at the exact same spot of the song.
We are certain that they are listening (and enriched by it?) as well. He's almost four now and still loves the song.
yes!
yes!
Wow! Such a warm sensuous sound and all the different voices brought out. I felt transported to a happy place. I’m really impressed with that piano such a clean clear outstanding tone😊
C'est jolie cette histoire 💕
Some said that it's too slow but I think it's just perfect. I'm using his interpretation as a reference. Thank you Lang Lang!
According to Debussy’s marking, ‘Andantio sans lenteur’ I think it’s too slow but who cares when it sounds so beautiful!
Maestro Lang Lang is a master of floating sound
WOW ✝️ 😮 "...floating 🎶 sound 🎵"... There is definitely a ✍️ writer in YOU 👀. 🏆 ⛳️
I wish Debussy could have heard how beautifully Lang Lang gives us his music to listen to - I have no words!!! Just Wonderful - the colour made by his hands........
Lang Lang’s interpretations are almost always hits and no misses. This one actually feels like a rêverie, and the way he moves through the sections feels less like the hypothetical dreams we see in media, and more like actual dreams. where everything is bizarre and some things take us by surprise, without waking us up.
I can actually get what you're saying. Same feeling I got way back when a friend played it on my 40th birthday on his piano. All my guests were scattered around the whole apartment, but when he started playing debussy reverie, like trance, everyone just materialised around the piano without being asked.I that's the power of good music as such as debussy reverie.
Pure joy, parallel universe, another dimension, crystal clear consciousness…..
BALANCE is everything in this work. The musician skilfully brings out the melody to the fore at different levels at different times, while sensitively accompanying himself at the same time. EXTREMELY difficult to achieve on such a mechanical instrument as the piano, with fingers of never the right length or relative strength. A superb combination of skill and musicianship.
Will definitely watch this again and again
He's going to fall off his chair while playing this piece with pure perfection
His control of the sound is magnificent and this is definitely the best interpretation of this piece
By far
I've come to the sad conclusion that Lang Lang is a better pianist then I am.
And perhaps grammarian as well, a better grammarian than you, but then I jest!

How does this have so few views? It's a masterpiece played by a brilliant pianist!
so many possibilitys gosh
This helped me a lot for my exam. I am now 3/2 for a distinction. It was 12/1 a month ago.
Bad Bunny?
Because he played it so slow I felt asleep
Because Lang Lang’s audience is mostly from China where TH-cam is banned
I can see the friendship between Debussy and Satie based on this surreal melancholic composition.
This is exactly the sort of playing I've wanted to hear from Lang Lang for so long! 100% responsive, shaped, singing, colourful. I love it. 🎼🎵🎶
It’s a privilege to hear and to understand the messages had been sent by Debussy and interpreted by Lang Lang
most Chinese have now forgotten their own music and now pursuing western classical music. Happy to see that happening.
Gorgeous. Let's this magnificent instrument sing and resonate. Bravo Lang Lang and Steinway.
Perfection...tears just listening.
This interpretation is so rich in sound, it brings out the harmonies and the different voices clearly. It is so deeply dreaming that it gets you into a new universe... I have no words for this beautiful music!
Love how Lang Lang always stays so deep in moment

Love how he’s savoring each lovely melody note and luscious harmony - just beautiful! Great warm lyrical tone and varied dramatic dynamics too! Bravo Maestro!!! Thanks Steinway and thanks Lang Lang! Five Stars!
He ballet dances from one note to another. So graceful and perfectly blended
Lang Lang brings a fresh interpretation to everything he plays, BRAVO!!!
I never had goosebump attack from a classical piece before
this isn't my favourite version, and yet... somehow it's the first to move me to tears. i learnt to play reverie during covid (forgoing all my grade pieces in the process) and, after ten years of playing, truly fell in love with the piano. but the last few years have been so busy, and now i'm at university i don't get the chance to play regularly anymore.
i think this touched me so much because when he plays, you can feel his adoration for every single note, every chord, every moment of dissonance... and it makes you love them too.
i'll pick up piano again over the summer :) i'll start with this piece (i've forgotten how to play it) and make my way from there. thank you, lang lang ❤
simply. wow. Lang Lang's control of rhyme and dramatics is perfect
La rêverie nécessite-t-elle d'atteindre la perfection pianistique dont fait preuve ici, sans conteste, Lang Lang ?
Goosebumbs even through earbuds.
Thanks to this I played it 50x better than before!
One of the best Lang Lang performances.
Oh how The Steinway loves the hands of a serious pianist !
Exceptional performance. Love how he moves through the piece with meaning and sensitivity. Thank You.
i cannot believe this has only 600k views, this is what i truly call underrated

Other worldly. Stop the hate on LL. He's a master of his craft and able to cast spells at will. Magical playing.
Yes.
Yes. If he can stop his monkey on crack gyrations, he can let his fingers do the talking. He did fine here. Maybe he doubled his Ambien dosage.
@@ms.annthrope415 ahhh you’re one of those haters of high level people that have infinitely more talent than you will ever have. So you key board warrior your way to feeling better about yourself but denigrating others online? Does that about sum it up?
If ever I was to learn how to play the piano, it'll be probably because of music like this Debussy piece and also lang lang of course. Absolutely beautiful, bless him😊
Breathtaking and distinctive performance by Lang Lang... What a genius Debussy was.
This thing always brings be to tears. There are few things I've heard in my life that are more delicate and mellifluous. It's breathtaking.
Lang Lang we are fans of you, what a fantastic piece you played! hope you have a lovely time with your wife!
Gorgeous. Love the rêverie feeling he completely expressed. Brought tears to my eyes
A world where the moonlight shines brightly in the dark night sky. It made me travel in such a dream.
Incredible performance. Lang Lang brings life to every single classical piece like a magician, an artist, or a god, as he plays. Every single note of the piece becomes meaningful and vividly dancing in front of the listeners' imagination and senses.
The heart of a begginer, with all the magic of discovery, the control of an absolute master at the instrument and the artistry of a true poet. An unique mix that reminds me of Rachmaminov craftmanship and talent.
Wow, very slow but amazing feeling. He nailed the end in amazing fashion!
Agree. It's a tad too slow for me. I am just not used, I guess.
I think it’s perfect and kept at a gracious and peaceful pace. Such a melody should not be rushed.
Well it’s not a pop song
Sublime performance, a Lang Lang performance. And that Steinway is gorgeous.
When I hear this music, I always stand in the middle of Paris looking across the Seine to Notre Dame ! Thanks !
What happened here: one of the best piano manufacturers piano and one the best piano player met up in a short but deep relation to each other.. creating something unique for us to enjoy:)
Absolutely brilliant performance! Lang Lang shines here like a true giant of the piano!!!
Lang Lang's Reverie and Claire de Lune are absolutely my fav version, so beautiful. I wish one day he could play Arabesque 1 too!
Beautiful rendition of my favorite Dubussy piano solo.
Poetic dream in slow motion, absolutely captivating. This piece has a special place in my heart as my 14 year boy played it recently as one of four parts in his Grade 8 exam❤.
Best piano live performance I have ever heard...gives me chills and goosebumps everytime, makes me feel so many things
Oh my lord. This deserves its own album
LL brings all the impressionist play of light and texture to this wonderful reflective piece, every harmony, every nuance beaurifully expressed. I love this rendition.
Sublime! No masterclass teacher could utter a word here.
I’m not a masterclass teacher but I could make some suggestions
@Viggo Simosen, lol, you could definetly say that.
@Tianze Fang well everyone has a personal style.
@@alloioscc9676 God forbid should we all play it differently 🙄
Very heartfelt. An unusual interpretation of the musical direction "sans lenteur".
Lang Lang made that reverie last a lifetime 😌🤩✨
So magical, serene, perfect expression with exceptional hand and piano
A beautiful piece by a great artist.

One of the best composers + one of the best pianists + one of the best pianos. Thats what you get! Beautiful!
What a wonderful execution of every note, every pause, attack and sustain. What a beautiful piece of music.
Exquisite performance. Intimate and expressive at the same time. Probably the best I have ever heard.
right Im going to play it slow like this for my exam. see if the examiner falls asleep. if he does then I assume distinction XD
Same! I knew I had to play it as soon as I saw it on the ABRSM 8 Syllabus.
LOL
do not rush this piece. This is not a race. This is a dream. LL slays this.
I’m doing this for my exam too x
I feel like this man would never play a piano. He straight up makes love to them. This is beautiful.
same thing said to horowitz
I think, together with L'après-midi d'un faune, this is one of Debussy's most perfected pieces.
Someone once described how most compositions have small transitions between the different musical ideas that constitute the piece, that are clearly postfitted to glue the whole piece together - and all composers know the small devices and tricks to do that, and are often able to identify them in other composers' works. But this piece is completely seamless and coherent - and makes musical and artistic sense from start to end. This is far from the case in most of Debussy's piano pieces. A truly inspired piece, this one
I loved the way he played this piece! Glad he did justice to one of my all time favs! Should be ranked among the top 15 most beautiful pieces ever composed! I love Debussy!
Bravissimo
The master of Piano you inspired me and my children play Piano.
simply breathtaking
Maravillosa la obra de Debussy y la interpretación de Lang Lang
Ngayon ko lang sya na pakinggan na tumugtog ☺

love Langlang, love classics!!
Beautiful
I really love this performance! Thank you Lang Lang
Csodálatosan zongorázol, beleéléssel, nagy lelkesedéssel, csak így tovább az ujjaidban van zene!
It started out pretty ordinary, with contrasting ups and downs, like everyday life, and then the second half was calm, relaxing, like remembering how things were, dreaming about the past, and how good life was and we're only now realizing that.
Wao! Qué entrega tan profunda del pianista a su teclado. ¡Me roba el aliento!!
It was a mess when I was preparing for my grade 8 exam (and this being one of my pieces), which caused me to pause my practice for at least a month twice. But I stumbled upon this cover and tried to improve my interpretations with it. I ended up with a strong merit, 124/150, despite all the mess surrounding me.
Are you doing the abeam exam?
Quite a fine score, ain’t sure if I can get this on this piece
Same here. This was one of my grade 8 exam pieces too. My piano teacher made me play the first 8 notes all the table for a month before actually letting me play them on the piano. I thought she was crazy at the time. Now being much older and understanding music a lot more, I can see her point.
I discovered Debussy's RÊVERIE in SYNTHETIZER volume 6 and instantly fell in love with this splendid piece of music.
But listening to the original version, played on one of my favourite instruments ever, is naturally way more interesting and beautiful.
One of those sacred gifts offered by Art, and which I cherish.
Thanks for uploading this, thanks to Lang Lang... and of course to Debussy himself.

He was born in 1862. He died in 1918.
