There is no way that little camera displays such HD quality video. I watched the Shark Tank episode and the quality was pre-2006 PC camera quality about 1-megapixel. I think it's a great idea and would have loved to buy one, but noticing that they photo shopped / super imposed HD video over the iphones that are suppose to display actual video coming from the DoorBot turned me away.
It looks to be a nice product! My question is I have already installed a door bell and a buzzer. So if I replace the regular door bell with the Doorbot... is it possible to keep the old buzzer working?? We cannot see of the video but I hope that the Doorbot comes with a buzzer...If not, so in case my wi-fi is down of or my telephone is dead how I will know that someone is ringing on the front door?
I found the answer.. We included terminals on the back of the mounting bracket that you may connect your pre-existing doorbell wiring to, allowing DoorBot to strike your doorbell chime within the home. Next time someone rings the DoorBot, it will also ring the doorbell inside your home.
I couldn't get the app to load and their customer service only takes email and all you get is an automated response saying they will get back to you which they never do. Without the app you don't have anything I'm taking mine back to Best Buy where I bought it.
To those concerned about theft, there's a new, smaller model that comes with a new policy. This is as of July 2013: "But now not only does the DoorBot have a new security mounting bracket but also a brand new theft guarantee: "In addition to the included security mounting bracket, we give you the ultimate peace of mind: if your DoorBot is stolen we will replace it free of charge."
