I see them as a useless waste of hard earned taxes because the city did nothing here. They just pained a few lines and called it a day when they could have actually tried
I'm pretty sure some of these drivers are so in love with their cars they like to just sit inside their garage with the car running and the door closed for extended periods, really becoming one with their cars, while the carbon monoxide does away with their brain cells
I was like 15 riding my bike on the sidewalk 3 miles to my first job. Cop stopped me and said i have to bike on the street. I said okay sorry and started biking on the road. Less than 5 minutes later, guy in a big truck ran me off the road and yelled at me to get on the sidewalk. Couldve died had he hit me (he was literally like a foot behind me) but walked away with bloody hands and knees from hitting the curb trying to dodge him. Like what do you want from me im just trying to get to work
speaking of unnecessary traffic, you should mention school traffics. I see parents crowding roads delivering children to schools. i even see parents drive to school bus stops and wait for school busses.
My city built the tiniest bit of safe bike infrastructure and it’s used so often compared to everywhere else and it’s only like a 2km stretch of a blocked off bike lane. If you build it they will come.
This bike lane has at least a decent width - I've seen them half as wide and with even higher speed limits.
Paint is not infrastructure 😑

You could say the same about footpaths, why isn't anyone walking on that footpath? It's a waste of tax payers money remove the footpath now.
The deep hatred for bicycles in the states I will never understand
Damn car in the green box at the stop light. There's a white line in front of that for a reason.

What a waste of road capacity and tax dollars. We don't live in the Netherlands.
Not everyone loves to ride bikes, especially in the winter
I live in London and I stop riding cause the drivers here don’t look both ways before turning.
In Belgium we call them "Murder lanes" (moordstroken)

I wasn't expecting to see Cheapside & Highbury London on TH-cam today
I don't mind them IF (big if) bollards are installed, as it seems car drivers are more scared of hitting plastic than humans

Just make the side walks bigger, double wide or something.
Ah, the infamous Mixing Zone Of Death. Lovely.

I wish every thing I needed was within 3 miles I have to go 25 miles just to work
Here in brazil they put big heavy concrete blocks or spheres on bike lanes and it’s really nice
