A watch that had really impressed me and also gets a ton of wrist time is my Nivada Gretchen on the beads of rice bracelet and didn't break the bank super vintage crono Anyways another great video my friend Be well and Big blessings Big Daddy 👍
Hi Olivier, Thanks for the informative video. Do add the very underrated Hanhart Pioneer Monopusher and 417ES 1954. Hanhart is traditionally a chronograph specialist with a rich history from dating back from 1924.
@@tonyvera-cruz6422 hello, tout are absolutely welcome! A very good choice that I know very little about but you are not the first to suggest a Hanhart 👍
One you didn't mention is the somewhat obscure Deep Blue brand which puts out occasional chronographs (with dive bezels) with Valjoux 7750s inside. That is such a good chrono that it's really make me feel like I wouldn't ever buy one of the expensive ones. Besides the dive bezel, the Valjoux lets me time things that take hours, something I actually use. 30 minutes is just not enough for me. Also the chrono movement that goes into Poljots (from the soviet era mostly) is pretty good if it's well serviced (which I guess is true for even a lot of Chinese watches). Honestly that is pretty hit and miss.
Thanks Olivier for this very interesting revue from affordable chronos to less affordable for most of us but as fascinating luxury impressiv Time-keepers ! 😊
I have a few watches to recommend: 1) Frédérique constant highlife with the LJP100 column wheel chrono FC-391SB4NH6B. They offer the steel bracelet and a strap. The price goes to 3495 euro 2) alpina alpiner chrono with a sellita movement AL-730NS4AE6B with a 2995 euro price tag. 3) seiko speedtimer SSC813P1 solar chrono movement V192. This watch is listed to 750 euro. 4) sinn 903.090 with a column wheel chrono like the first watch that I suggested on my list. It has the LJP movement, 200 mt of Water resistance, rotating bezel like the navitimer and the price goes to 3500 euro (it is not a homage, sinn helped breitling in the 70’s when the quartz Cristal was a thing and the German brand bought the navitimer rights to them).
Thanks for the video. It's frank, honest, and informative. The Longines background was interesting. Some future El Primo background would be interesting, I think.
Excellent suggestions as usual. If you’re looking for a newer main stream chronographs, I also like the Seiko Speedtimer and the new Orient Stretto. And of course there are endless number of AliExpress Homage / Clomages. Thanks!
Sinn 903 st hb limited edition Navigation chrono, and the 903 non limited versions. Cheaper than the Tudor and less than half of the Breitling. And its a real looker.
About the Bulova Lunar Pilot, it may be an in-house homage, but it is a quartz homage of a mechanical prototype. Why would I spend between $380 and up to $800 (it comes with a COLLECTIBLE BOX!) for a homage that is not the real thing anyway, when I can get a Pagani PD-1701 Speedy homage with an actually better Seiko/TMI calibre for under $100? Next, I learned 2 lessons actually wearing my watches: Legibility is all important in all light conditions! In my small collection the totally flat crystals and only slightly domed, almost flat crystals on my Glycines and a Pagani are very good! A visibly domed crystal with the valued "pretty" distortions on one of my field watches makes life difficult, because it catches reflections from all over like a fish eye lens, or an old bubble screen tube TV, where you needed heavy curtains on every window in the room! I was also lucky I learned a lesson about panda eyes with an otherwise very good and highly accurate 50 dollar VK63 Pagani, the "Newman's Own" homage PD1676. It runs within +1 seconds per MONTH, so I am now a VK63 fan! However, the panda eyes KILL it any time the black hour or minute hands are over the black pandas. So from reliable and affordable to what I can stretch to spend with a very limited income, I'd go for a VK63 again, like the Pagani Speedy homage, or a Sea-Gull 1963. BUT, frankly, if I "need" a chronograph's stop-watch functions, I am better off with my 21 dollar Casio W201-1AV, and its total legibility plus nightlight!
@Horologique ce n' est pas bien grave ! Ça arrive à tout le monde de se tromper. C' est la montre la moins coûteuse de ma modeste collection et pourtant je l' aime autant que la plus chère.
Keep these excellent videos coming Bill!
@@paulbugoni2846 thank you so much 👍👍
The snoopy anniversary one is the best
Yes! Please make a video about chrono movements.
Thank you for your encouragement 👍
Hi Olivier, always enjoy your reviews and videos. Perhaps the Hamilton Intramatic, as a heritage brand deserved a mention. Regards

Thank you very much my friend! I haven't been able to test those but I hear they are great indeed! All the best 👍👍
Best chronograph watch of all time is the Timex Waterbury with the tri color sub dials😊
A great watch as well

Olivier, it would be fantastic if you make a video about the "El Tercero" 👍🏽
Noted!

Sinn absolutely crushes in in terms of build quality and sheer technology
Please talk about El Primero
Ok!
What do you think about the Timex marlin chronograph and the newly released Casio edifice efb-730d?
Probably the 2 best affordable chronos for sure! The Timex's coming at home on monday, I will quickly add something below to describe the value
The Marlin looks great, but like the Casio better, with those lovely vintage vibes 👌
There is also the Tissot PRX automatic chronograph around a little less then 2000$
That's a good choice too but like the Hamilton Intramatic a bit expensive for my taste

Ya missed Timex Q Chronograph under €300. Beautiful original design though some people really hate that giant Q.
@@khonjel_singh I almost put it here but I wanted 1 watch per brand
Chronometre? For what? Inutile thing...
