He is controlling the sequence , making breaks and silences to give more balance to the songs . He is applying effects to the master ( Guitar & Beat ) Wtf are you guys talking about ??? Fake djs moving a knob and pretending that we are all stupids??? Cmonn open your eyes , and try to produce like Gramatik or even have a Live Act working perfectly .. Haterss !! Gramatik ROCKS
Brilliant production. This guy is just freakin genius. And the knob touching is not just for effect he's checking the setup since he's not able to see through sunglasses. Perfect tune. Love it
Nope, when he "tweaks" the top switch on channel 2 it does nothing. That is the input switch for that channel, switches between midi and aux inputs. Absolutely no reason to be messing with that, especially since you can see literally no sound coming through that channel ever via the uv meter.
TBH i couldn't careless if he's 'faking' the live play. Fact is the cat produces some smooth funky n soulful material and he gives his 100% to open up In His Studio (where he's comfy). All the prudes out their that say he's faking it....it's easier to criticise than to create. So if you can't replicate....stfu n tune out noones forcing you to watch him live. But if your a cat like me who enjoys Both live DJ/s Performers as well as 'Button Pushers' that have some serious skill to create smooth funky tracks (in studio)...let us enjoy our button pushers. Reality is that Obviously compared to other DJ's who create patches and layers on the fly, he doesn't stand as strong in the live aspect but regardless in the Studio they are equally talented and should be appreciated....Not shot down. He'll obviously expand his skills if he feels the need too but until then just let the man do His Thing cause it aint easy. I'm sure other DJ's out there that are more spontaneous with their performance would STILL give props to these cats for their talent to mix/remix and create. n So Should You. *P
Dannynorw I'm sure he does do his stuff live. I was just speaking on a 'worse case scenario' But That said i have seen an interview with him where he stated that alot of his stuff is pre produced however i'm sure he 'Transitions' live but thats different to actual layer dropping like say Bassnectar where its not just the transitions but also the overall composition. From what i understood in his interview, he has sections produced before hand in his library and then he drops the songs in but transistions them live( which is what your talking about) However Since THAT interview hes probably gotten better at his live skills and probably does alot more stuff on the fly if you've seen it live. I just know that listening to This particular video live , alot of those sections where pre produced since i've heard them in their whole form before in other sets. But he does transition the sections together live which is cool. Wasn't saying he wasn't awesome live. I'd love to watch him liveagain and again just wannt to back my statement in that He Himself admitted to pre producing his sets live since he prefers the sonic soundscape as it is in his studio (which is totally fine hence my initial post) rather than creating it on the fly as he goes along a live set. But he probably has changed his approach now since i saw that interview.
from 07:00 and from 10:37 please tell me these titles, i've searched and listened to many other titles but can't find the correct ones...:(((((( please give me a hand cause i can't sleep without these titles in my head... thx in advance :)
I was SO. STOKED. to see him live (Vancouver fall 2013 @ the commodore), listened to this set nonstop in preparation... And guess what? Not only did he start hours late after everyone was already coming down from their high... He played this EXACT SAME SET FROM START TO FINISH. No joke guys. The exact same set. I couldn't believe my ears. I seriously felt cheated out of my money and entirely too disappointed in gramatik. Not a single new mash up, mix, etc? What a phoney.

Brad Hoffman, I love this dudes ,music but his performance here is annoying when it comes to the faking it...So glad you replied too !!!!! HAHA!!!!!! His music is rad but this is definitely not a genuine performance.
Yeah man, I couldn't take it, had to call it out. I mean, it's ridiculous. I love how everyone's excuse is "well he produced all this amazing music." Which is true. But that's not the point lol!! The point is he's faking what he's doing "live". Oh well...
Let's be honest here, dude is faking 95% of it, pretending to turn knobs on channels that aren't even set to receive midi. I have literally the exact same setup as he does here (Ableton, APC 40, and DJM 900 Nexus), so I'm not talking out my ass. All the sound is coming out of channel 1 (can see it on the level meter), no sound out of any over channel. Yet he constantly "fiddles" with the eq and such on the other channels, which is FAKING. That disappoints me to no end. I don't care if you just hit play and dance around, as long as you aren't pretending to do stuff when you're not doing a damn thing. Don't act like you are up there "working". It's insulting to those who do.
He is actually using some Effects from the mixer itself at some points but over all you're right. The only difference here is that the music he's playing is actually some beautiful shit that he produces. It's real music. That's what makes him different from someone like Martin Garrix or Demitri Vegas & Like Mike
Actually I was just recently at one of his performances, he puts a lot of effort into mixing (if you compare it to other DJs such as Avicii, Tiesto, Guetta... - I'm telling this from the first hand). Please go hear him out, then tell me if you are still think what you wrote, he is one of the best artists by far IMO.
Of course he's faking it, he's putting on a performance. He made the beat on his computer, would it be more exciting if he sat at his computer on stage and recreated the beat? No. To the layman, this is how they think the music is made so this is what entertains them. And it works, look at that crowd.
I wish he would hire a legit band to play his tracks in live events. And get a real singer to sing those clips. A guitarist is nice but you cant DJ Jazz music. Doesnt matter how electrified it is.
0:26 - Torture
4:09 - Just Jammin
6:58 - Break Loose
10:56 - It's Just A Ride
This is only half the concert.... They shortened it. I don't know why.....
gramatik is my favorite, they offer so much power I can`t stay still....:-) thanks

You ask my question man...sorry poor english

Regardless Of the presentation, the fact remains this dude has a sick ass music library

Μουσικαρες by Gramatik, never gets old!
simply amazing, came fro Café Babel after Reading an interview full of science highly recommended!!
this guy is real dj so respect him he isn't faking at all
yeah son muy buenos, no e tenido la oportunidad de escucharlos en vivo pero realmente valdría la pena.
Puras máquinas. En vivo se escucha igual 😅
If you didn't notice, he isn't moving any of the knobs when he touches them
but when he does move something, he makes sure to point his elbow to the sky
AMAZING!

lenny kravitz che bomba ★★★★
I love how he keeps grabbing that knob but not actually DOING anything to it lmao
You wouldn't even know what he was doing either way. I bet you've never even operated a mixer.
Lolz no bud, not you.
that Eric Mendelson fool rip tho
ocd at it's best.

You're a grown ass man... Where's the rest of the band?🙄
guitarist is sick, but pretty sure the dj just pressed play
and produced tha tracks m8
dovcer he's soft as baby shit, live shows are literally songs off the album. Until the guitarist comes through...
Go turn up your nose somewhere else Earl Ross. You couldn't produce these tracks if you had 500 years to try.
O

Yea man, besides a few filters and delays, it's all show.
