This pool table was $12,000 when first revealed. The table itself isn't glass, its actually a synthetic material that looks like glass but feels like felt, this way it functions with the levels of friction that a normal pool table has.
That lady is REALLY skilled. She is a terrific shot; her ability to place the cue ball for the next shot is impressive and accurate. It is a nice table too, by the way.
@Aim4Perfection, if you truly aim for perfection, you should remove the comma after the word "table" due to the fact that it is grammatically incorrect to separate a subject of a sentence from its own verb or verb phrase by ONE COMMA. The main subject of your sentence is "better than the pool table" and its verb is "is". Therefore, there cannot be ONE comma between them. There may be two commas, between which there is extra information. INCORRECT = "better than the pool table, is ..." CORRECT = "better than the pool table is ..." CORRECT = "better than the pool table, which is red, is ..."
You would assume that there would be some weird imperfections and flaws with the way the table plays but it seems quite the opposite, this could be a very cool concept if it isn't expensive to build
I hate it now 5 years later you have to spend extra for a non glass case... If you can even find one. Thought about doing a sleeper build but old cases don't have EATX :(
+AngrierGorilla I don't play pool but i play snooker, at 0:26 on the red striped ball she hits the cue ball with loads of top and it reacted as it should, i was quite surprised as the cue ball is often aided with spin because of the cloth. Amazing to see a ball react like this on glass. I was hoping to see a nice screw back shot too but never mind. would need to be bullet proof glass though lol...
I'm suprised the glass is so transparent and not rough, but than again, felt is surprisingly smooth, glasslike almost. the difference is that felt is biased based on the direction it's combed where glass is not. The balls react equally throughout the table with glass unless their were surface imperfections.
Looks like it plays very close to a standard table. Id like to know if the finish of the play surface breaks down over time and loses friction and makes it uneven.
I always played on marble table covered with clothed. I am not sure if the experience on glass table is the same. Its like playing carom on glass surfaced carom, it sounds nice and smooth, but playing on it is extra "smooth" and have to have extra control over speed. Plus moving balls below table wont let you concentrate on shot.
