A very intelligent performance by Dasha… Lots of junk balls, lots of slice, & not a lot of pace on her shots; A perfect example of how to play in windy conditions!! 👍
Ever since I found her vlog, Dasha Kasatkina is my favorite player on court. Haven't had a player to root for since Federer retired but I'm all in on team Kasatkina now.
What vlog?

Dasha played so smart today... she dismantled Emma's game by putting lots of balls back in play in very windy conditions forcing Emma to make lots of errors.
Just so I understood you correctly, you basically said, the real player won
Kasatkina's defence is too good for the likes of Raducanu. Not the first time she beat her.

She actually did hit more winners than Raducanu. I’m tired of the people thinking about Kasatkina only as about a pusher

Raducanu is decent player, who doesn't yet have the skills to handle a player like Kasatkina. She needs to have a great serve, and be able to mix up her shots. She is woeful against players with a lot of variety. Can't stand how commentators always make excuses for her
yeah and it is a bad sign when she cant handle Daria, cuz Daria is far from masters 1000 and slam level
Maybe luck played a role in her only slam. Does she have an ATP title after winning the US Open?
Да ,касаткина днище ,вы очем,,пегула специально слила радукану ,а радукану оказались ещё хуже касаткиной😅
@@naniromero1apparently the ball was very light and the court conditions very fast that us open. I think raducanu lacks firepower but is very good at redirecting the ball so I think the conditions suited her that year. Those conditions also create a lot of upsets and a lot of top players fell before raducanu had to play them. So she was very lucky, but she definitely earned it. Because she executed very well when the opportunity was handed to her.
@@naniromero1 she ( Raducanu) did have a favorable draw in her title winning US Open but still had to beat world class players. Probably the greatest single achievement in tennis of all time ( men or women) never to be matched again but sadly her and her team couldn’t handle the fame that came with it. The talent is still there but the consistency , focus and mental discipline is lacking at times.
Kasatkina brought her A game today and Raducanu was like a student watching her at work. Emma was building a run, but anyone who expected Dasha to just roll over was kidding themselves. A lesson in adaptability and finesse delivered by last year's finalist here.
Emma is a Grand Slam winner just coming back from injury. She beat Grand Slam winner Stephens and then beat top 10 Pegula who is former top 5. So that's a big win no?
@@jonfreeman9682 Yes, as I said she was "building a run" - dunno about "big win", but it's good progress for her. Although, Stephens despite being a fellow GS winner is always hot and cold, she's very beatable on her off-days (which are happening frequently recently). Pegula was definitely not at 100% since she went all the way in Berlin last week, but still, pushing her to 3 sets showed that Emma can hang with the top crowd. The problem is more of her fitness and being able to play tough matches back-to-back. We can say she's "just coming back from injury", but that's pretty much been the tagline for the past several years now.
Kasatkina played quite the relaxed match. I don't think that I've seen her play before but she could just play defensively without too much effort and then just smack any short balls. Raducanu looked like she was working twice as hard.
I noticed that too. I looked like she was basically just standing there without much effort. Emma looked frantic.
Well Emma had some good shots but too many errors. She played great destroying Grand Slam winning Sloane Stephens and then beating top 10 Pegula. But ran outta steam.

Watched the match live: Here’s the story: One player took a look at the weather conditions and decided she couldn’t play her usual style and defeated herself mentally. The other player saw the same conditions, gritted her teeth and got on with it, adapting her game to the test. Raducanu’s body language said everything: she was constantly frustrated with herself, the wind and kept glancing at her coach as if to say, what am I supposed to do. Kasatkina was stoic and business-like, just focusing on getting the job done despite the strong winds.
Totally agree with your analysis.
It's because Kasatkina has the skills set to deal with the gusty win, not like some players who like to hit flat and aggressively all the time. Great win for Daria, love her game!
An actual reasonable and realistic analysis of a tennis match? Rare to see in comments sections of these matches. Salutations
Kasatkina clearly could teach Raducanu a lot about playing in windy conditions, but I don't think that's the best Emma can do. There was little incentive for Emma to change her playing style to adopt. It isn't likely to be windy on Wimbledon Centre Court next week. A couple of days rest & GS preparation was preferable to fighting the wind at Eastbourne.
This commentator is a joke.
If Radacanu was a difficult opponant Kasatkina wouldn't have won 6-2 6-2.

Emma's biggest problem is her low energy and endurance. She must have been drained already from her earlier matches. It doesn't get any easier with age.
Uhh players aren’t at their fittest at 21, it can take a good few years on tour to really build that toughness. Especially with Emma cause she’s had periods where she’s been injured stopping her momentum.
Novak Djokovic improved with age after he regularly had problems with his fitness and tiredness. He changed his diet and fitness regime.

More than the skills its the champion's mindset that wins the matches. I never saw that in Emma. All tennis players go through so much, they do not put that upfront for the media as a reason to lose over and over.
