  • A sunny Winter's morning at Nuneaton for Class 50's D400 & 50033 on a charter, but also seen across this two part selection are plenty of other locos(Class 31, 47, 56, 60, 86, 87, and 90)along with a couple of HST's and various DMU's types. Filmed on Saturday 5th December 1992.

    Classic footage. Your videos bring back memories of a great era. If you have any Doncaster footage from the 90's I would love to see it

    Hey, Look at all those enthusiasts, stopping expresses, clag, light engines.. Virtually dead now for stopping trains and passengers but ya do get a few enthusiasts. Really, like Rugby, the station is now vitually dead due to trains rushing through non stop. Bit sad really.

      It's certainly not the hub for intercity type services it used to be. Of course, it's still a great freight hotspot today, as you know very well :-)

    Not a big fan of diesels that smoke that much. Like clag but that demonstration just looks like bad workmanship or a need for a major overhaul. For a charter running like that they should be ashamed of themselves.

      I think the cold weather made things seem worse, but as Andy says they were run down on the Waterloo-Exeter during their final days - a similar thing happened to their Class 47 successors on the same route. The locos themselves were smartly turned out on the outside of course.
