      @@steveeleigh3731 Both cities provide many great opportunities for single women, it really just depends on what you're looking for! As @Jessica Freeman said, Jacksonville is larger but I do not see that as a downfall! There are many 'small towns' within 'Jacksonville' and each one has their own 'personality' between the home styles, shops, restaurants, bars, coffee shops, music venues and so on and because of that it really doesn't feel like you live in such a big city. There is truly somewhere for everyone here in Jax because of the variety! On the other hand, Tampa also has a lot of perks so I would say it genuinely just depends on what you are looking for specifically.
      I love it here in Jax and know I will not be leaving!!

    Living in Jacksonville like I do number one it's hot all the time you're right it does cool off a little bit in winter. The one thing you got to mention to a lot of people as there is no real nightlife and there's nothing that I can tell that stands out from any other major city in Florida. That's why I lot of Travelers don't travel to Jacksonville because there's nothing here that draws them to Jacksonville we don't have theme parks we don't have a lot of things for people to travel across country for I think Jacksonville is a big city with small-town feel Jacksonville is good for building a family finding a job and that's about it that I can think of

I have the money saved up to be able to move but only have work experience in low-skill factory jobs so I'm a bit apprehensive to go it alone and pull the trigger. Also, how hard is it to find a rental home with 2 cats? Are there any low income senior housing communities in safe areas? I own my own home now, but I'm finding it more difficult every year to maintain it as I get older. Are the summers as hot as down here? Thanks for any info you can give me.

So depending on if you were looking at the link I provided, you may have to click right outside of those areas that were highlighted as it automatically selects Duval county for Jacksonville!
      Ponte Vedra and Nocatee are just south of Jacksonville Beach along the east coast. Orange Park and Fleming island are just south of the purple highlight on the left side of the map! Hope that helps!

      @taylordardano6160  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hello Andrea! I have attached a link below for you to explore the crime rates and other information that may be of interest to you for the Jacksonville area.
      Jacksonville, like many major cities, has specific areas that do have a higher crime rate but there are also many other surrounding areas that don't. I have lived in Jacksonville for 7 years, 5 years at the beach, and have never had a personal experience where I have been concerned for my safety.... or problems with flooding.
      In regards to flooding, anytime you are close to or backed up to a body or water there is the potential concern... and sometimes you don't even have to be near water! However, this tends to be a case by case basis here so if there is a specific area you are interested in, I am happy to let you know about the flood zones in that area!
      Some areas I would recommend checking out are the Beaches, Ponte Vedra, Nocatee, Fleming Island, Orange Park, Hodges/San Pablo/Kernan, and Bayard.

    I live in Jacksonville, Florida I've been here since 1992. Jacksonville, Florida is great place to live it has it's good and bad spots. #1 reason you wouldn't want to live in Jacksonville, Florida TRAFFIC! Now Traffic wouldn't be that bad if the roads weren't so out of date. This is what happens when you keep putting Democrats in office NOTHING GETS FIXED. In the early 90s Jacksonville, Florida was low traffic and even though it get busy in Oct. and Jan. it was easy going on the road ways. In 1993 that all changed as Jacksonville was rewarded with it's first ever NFL team. 1994 Traffic started to get worst and the more people that started moving here from up north changed everything, by 1995 the city went form 289,361 to 846,755. That is a big jump for a city that wasn't a Metro. Jacksonville, Florida streets are not made for that many cars. Jacksonville was more of a military town a way through that why I95 went straight through Jacksonville. 1998 Jacksonville had 977,045 people. 2004 Jacksonville joined the 1 Million people towns, 1,002,023. Today Jacksonville has 936,017 people. The way to fix this Traffic problem is build more roads and bridges not make us pay tolls for roads that have been here since 1970s. Why is a highway that was built back in the 70s asking for a toll. Democrats are thefts if you want changed vote in someone who has a great idea on how to change. Who cares the party unless it is a democrat because like I said they can't be trusted they are LIARS!!! They call people racist and make up lies cause they have no answer for the problem. You know why democrats have no answer for the problem? CAUSE DEMOCRATS ARE THE PROBLEM!!!!
