This really takes me back, I used to ride these all the time. I remember when these busses were still somewhat new (back in the OCTD days) when I was a kid, they seemed so futuristic.
DUDE THAT EXHAUST IS ON POINT! O_O and the screaming engine + trans on the freeway had me done X____X but the turbo was no joke either! Had to be going 72 mph (3021 can apparently)
81 GMC RTS WITH THE UNDER MOUNTED EXAUST WERE THE DOMINATING BUSES OF SCRTD. BUT THESE 1980 RTS'S ALSO SAW SERVICE WITH SCRTD/LACMTA UNDER THE YELLOW JACKET PAINT SCHEME. MISSED CHANCE TO RIDE WHEN METRO OPERATED THEM, BUT HIT THEM UP ALL THE TIME IN THE OC. BAD ASS BUSES
I was at this excursion! You were riding this towards the end. I rode it after the LRV tour. I also filmed it take off with Shaun driving it at the end of this video. I didn't realize you were there! Are you on the bus lounge on facebook?
