- This is a sound recording of Ex-OCTD / OCTA 3001. This bus spent 28 years in the OCTD / OCTA fleet. For a period of time back in 2007, it was leased to UC Irvine for use on their student shuttle before finally being retired in 2008. This bus was saved from a certain death...and is currently owned by Regional Transit Service ( Riverside, CA ). The powertrain is a Detroit Diesel 6V92TA DDEC IV reliabilt engine and Allison V730 transmission. Photos and sound recording by me
I remember that sound 😂 I miss those old buses 🚍 we had em all in Gary
I agree. Its sad they dont make powertrains like this anymore.
Hi from New York City. The last run on these GMC/ TMC Bus was on the M 55 Bus in Midtown 44TH STREET to South Ferry. Now a New York City Transit Museum Bus. I have four models of them in O SCALE . How I miss these Buses I rode them everywhere on Liberty Lines Westchester County The slanted back vent version , Tri- Boro Coach, & of course MTA NEW YORK CITY TRANSIT. Love that Engine but what you didn't hear when they started the Bus up a :Weeee sound that's how I know & knew the RTS BUSES.😃🤣🚌
Gawd, I wish I could get just one ride on this. This is sweeeeet!!!! What a sharp looking bus too. AWESOME!!!!
I have no words for this recording. Making me want to ride a Ex LACMTA RTS
Dang someone was tearing this thing up!!
Holy Shit man!! This is EASILY the best 6v92TA Rts I've ever heard!! Great recording.
god i miss the rts...wish they were still around
WOw..uploaded on my birthday! GLad to see it still runnin..
Oh it's sad! Everything is all computerized and EPA-mandated these days!
No other powertrain package will ever come close to the efficiency of this one. The 6v92/V-730 combo is untouchable. The ISL can kiss my black ass.
That 692 sounds sexy good love that engine
as usualy bruh you come through! never rode the OCTA RTS but hell the RTD/MTA GMCs were good enough for me lol....i gotta get back to LA to fan with y'all!
Oh lord!!! i'm finished! Excellent recording!
What a great sound! I want a GMC RTS XD 5*
GBTA Bridgeport just retired their last 1991 RTS July 2012
From T8H203 with the repowering is now T8J203 J signifies using 6v92
After 28 years with OCTA it"s still running? Now that's what you call reliability. Did you guys that OCTA/OCTD had Flxibles too? Does anyone know how long there were with OCTD/OCTA?
lord have mercy..Just wish metro hadn't gotten rid of em..
Holy shit, thats a bus now, REALLY!!!
Well hot diggity damn HOW YOU DOING!!!! Im loosing it right now.
Aww shit! It's finna get good! They talkin about March or April so you not it's going down!
this is just a preview until your arrival
The turbo is fucking awesome, but I prefer a ZF gearbox... 5 star and faved!
all 6v92 buses were retired from my towns fleet in 2004-2006
This RTS thats recording is probably ran fast like a mustang.
Oh shit! I was done at the 0:11 mark. I did not need to listen to the rest of this video. I approve! Then again at the 0:39 mark, I passed the fuck out! LOL!!!!!!
Didn't Golden Gate have some RTS's with 6v92TA/ZF powertrains?
@davidburnside69 - lol almost ... but its an Allison
perhaps later this evening
Whew shit!!!
when will you post it?
2:56
wait till u see the corresponding video
Hmmm, now that I took a closer look, this gearbox sounds a bit like a ZF...
@Spectacular66
ABOLISH THE EPA!
Afi James: EPA ruins everything! We had to get rid of our rts buses in Los Angeles!
haha but u should listen to the rest of it :-)
