I really appreciate how you stay on top of the latest updates. Thanks for the Waypoints tutorial, I was curious about how well it worked. Thanks again Billy Kyle.
Excellent overview and flight video using Waypoints 2.0. Hopefully, DJI will start releasing an update to the software to come more in line with Litchi which is a lot smoother in it turns, settings and being able to preprogram you flight offline, that the big one. Thanks for your tests explaining exactly how and what you did, very informative, take care!
Love the video Billy....... butttttt :) How do you frame the Waypoints "Manually"? at 2:25 you said you set your points manually, (elevation gimbal pitch to frame subject properly etc) how do you do that ? can you make a quick video explaining the procedure? Many Thanks BIlly.
Could you please go into a little more detail about setting up the Waypoints. Such as setting gimbal pitch, heighth, etc. in another tutorial. I would really benefit from something like that.
I wish that either the waypoint or free tap fly feature could focus-locked on an object when flying on a preset course so it could shoot the object smoothly. Manually turning the camera sideway to an subject during flight tend to be jerky.
Why not use Litchi? I have been using it for over a year, and its cexcellant? Flight planning on a PC, Mac, IOS and Android. Save to the cloud, edit on site etc. Works for me!
Billy. Thanks for another great tutorial! Is waypoints 2.0 in the DJI GO 4 app or is it a separate app? Excuse my ignorance please as I am only 4 months into flying and only a month with the Mavic 2 zoom. Thank you.
Excellent review!!! I find that when a point of interest is used with waypoints 2.0 the video is a little jerky when it yaws to keep the POI in frame. I've been experimenting using the arc feature, it somewhat smooths that jerkiness if a large arc (radius) is used and the POI is further away. Try this and let us know what you think. Keep those videos coming!!!
Thanks for the helpful tips! The one question I have is can you hit one button to record all the settings the Mavic 2 is at for that waypoint? that way you can fly to each waypoint, get your framing, record the waypoint, and save the full flight? It seems like you have to go in and adjust all the settings separately for each waypoint which takes forever to do on the fly!
When I set a waypoint manually using the controller (M2P) it only records the location. The altitude, camera settings, angle etc are not recorded. I am trying to program a beginning and end of a shot based on presisly what I see on my monitor (like you can set during a motion lapse). So that the drone can fly and take the shot autonomously. Any suggestions? Thanks! Great channel!
Hi, great video, Waypoints 2.0 it’s what I need on my job to patrol some areas, do you know if the Mavic Air 2 will have something like that ? Thank you 😎👍
Billy, thank you for efforts and instructions. I''m a new Mavik 2 Pro owner. I have yet to have a waypoints 2 flight plan to start. What might be the key issues to get an "incomplete" warning? I had the waypoints, speed altitude and POI, yet the biest is still stubborn and will not join the flight plan. Thank You.
Hey Billy, really appreciate your videos! Would love to see more tutorials on Mavic 2 (intelligent flight modes overview maybe?). I just got the Zoom recently and am simply amazed by it. What program do you recommend for beginner editing? I start from scratch and want it to be free (at first at least). What are those color corrections and editing all about (in short)? Also, I plan to get part 107 one day, but not sure whether that will affect my experience flying as a hobbyist in a different country (will it be visible for authorities?). I would love to see you talking about travelling with a drone and transporting it on a plane into a different country (local regulations, registration and part 107 nuances). Cheers!
Great for getting progress and seasonal shots. I tried this with a field of sunflowers to capture their growth, but the weeds overtook them by mid-summer. Process worked great though.
When setting a POI in Waypoints 2.0, is it possible to obtain the latitude and longitude specifics for that POI? I'm a volunteer in a SAR group in North Carolina and this information would be extremely helpful when locating lost persons with our Mavic 2 Pro. Thank you for an informative tutorial.
Hey bro I'm also from philly my question to you is I have started buying drones from Hubsan 501ss to the dji Spark now I finally got the dji mavic zoom reason for all the upgrades is being nervous of fly aways and I also have a problem with orientation when the drone goes a little distance how can I stop being so nervous and improve my orientation
I was using way points this past weekend on a film shoot.. and it flew the course.. but it wasn't applying the gimbal pitches .. it just flew from point a to B with the gimbal pointing straight ahead.. how do you get it to flow the points but also remember the gimbal tilt/pitch positions, elevation etc..?
I have an run a 3,200 foot road in a straight line with 8 Waypoints at different elevations. the problem I am running into is that the drone slows down and ramps up at each Waypoint. I am not sure why this happens, even though I preset a cruising speed of 15 mph and ALL the Waypoints are set to cruising. Any idea on how to fix this problem? I need smooth speed from start to finish, as if I was only using 2 Waypoints. Thanks David
How do you get around visual line of sight? You are showing some spectacular stuff but I don't believe for a minute the drone was always in your sight.
Is the altitude set at a waypoint the height above the ground at that waypoint, or is the altitude the height above precision landing point that you started from. For instance Waypoint 1 is 200 feet above ground, so is waypoint 2 200 feet above ground at waypoint 2 but not necessarily the same level as waypoint one
Your wording is very confusing, so I'm just taking a guess at what I think you might be asking, apologies if I misinterpreted. Your altitude is set from your initial take off point. Of course, your drone (as of yet) has no way of knowing your altitude above sea level, so it simply starts calculating from 0 at whatever height you happen to take off from. It uses the initial take off altitude to calculate any waypoint height changes.
Hoping someone can help me. I’m looking to check tip ups for Ice Fishing. Wanting to do a waypoint route and be able to stay on each waypoint for about 10 seconds. Is there a setting that I am missing to increase the time the camera is on the way point? If I did it manually, would it automatically stay on the waypoint according to how I did it the first time? Thanks!
Is there an intelligent flight mode that allows camera control by dragging the on-screen blue circle with one's finger? For example, I'd like to point the a/c west while having the camera point south-west, for example...(I don't like flying sideways.)
Hey Billy , great post again . I’m subscribed to your channel and watch everything for the MAVIC 2PRO that you put out ! Nobody speaks more clearly and to the point than you . I have a question: do you know if WAYPOINTS 2.O may be available to CRYSTAL SKY in the future ? I use my IPAD PRO and the IPHONE 7PLUS but I have the CSKY also . (Eventuality I’m getting the SMART CONTROLLER ) . Thank you
I know im a little late there but i notice when i pull up my waypoints. I dont have the 4 icons in the middle. I have the 5 on the right. I do i get that. I have a mavic pro alpine white thx. PLUS I have all the latest updates.
Hey Billy I’m with you on flying Manual. I have been playing with the waypoint and find that when the mission is complete it won’t let me exit out of the IFM.
i tryed this day night thing with a couple more scenes. like sunrise, daylight, sunset and night. i use the saved waypoint path but the shots are not exactly the same. angle and flight route are a bit different. i started the drone at different start points. and i have to calibrate the compass in some days. maybe this is why the shots are not the same?
Hi, have You the same problem after update? I can use now Waypoints but I lost Asteroid and Dolly Zoom. I want to use this, but is no more possible... Do I something wrong?
Actually the Litchi-app (also known as FlyLitchi) has a much better impementation of waypoints. They have had it for years. They also have the “Mission Hub” where you can implement the waypoints in advance on your computer. They support most DJI drones (Phantom, the “old” Mavic Pro etc).
Got to give you credit Billy, for a young man you not only have a great grasp of technical knowledge but can verbalize it as well..No silly music, vulgarity etc. I also would give Flytpath honorable mention too..
Hey Billy! My question is in reference to how much battery these sequences you shared took? I have heard that way points uses much battery time. Thanks.
I'm pretty sad to see how bad the jerkiness is using this function. To me, its nowhere near good enough for a commercial use. ie company presentation of a hospital progress as shown. Is it due to the lack of waypoints used? Can you use a larger arc and more waypoints? If the footage comes out jerking like that, its not something I think I'll ever use. Its useful for flying the same route over and over like in a seasonal change over the year of a subject of interest. but for a presentation, DJI need to smooth that out. Keep up the good work.
Great video. But remember: if you save your flightplan, and want to fly it later. Takeoff needs to be from the same position, otherwise the altitude will be wrong ! :)
I have the Mavic 2 & Waypoints 2.0 which I find is crap. With the new Mavic 2 can you set waypoints manually like the original mavic? I think its stupid setting waypoints via a map!! as you can't frame your shot - there is no way of accurately framing your waypoint's height, angle, gimbal to frame properly, after all photography & videography is a visually sport not a plotting art you make on a map?? Please, your knowledge will be very appreciated.
Nicely done. For someone not very familiar with the english language the explanation is much too fast. Please think about that in your future videos. However, thanks a lot.
I really appreciate how you stay on top of the latest updates. Thanks for the Waypoints tutorial, I was curious about how well it worked. Thanks again Billy Kyle.
phil devore what’s right for one will be different for another.
Great vid. I found that using the arc setting and adjusting the radius take care of the jerky footage.

Awesome Billy. Been looking for this from someone that knows how to actually use it right. Thanks buddy.
Excellent examples and really informative. Nice one.

@@billykyle The CRYSTALSKY monitor was upgrade a few days ago and I have tried waypoints and it works.

Is there any TH-cam URL's that show how to us the Arc feature in Waypoints for Mavic Zoom - as I can't find one for the life of me?
Thanks Billy fantastic review of the waypoint program
Hi Billy, can waypoint be done offline via cellphone used with the remote?

Thanks for the tips on this feature. Always informative!!
Can you use GPS coordinates to set waypoints? If so - how?
Hi Billy, Are these available on the Mavic 2 Enterprise?
malek studios nope, you would have to use a third party like litchi. However when I run litchi with the enterprise the app crashes or stutters a lot.
@@Make-Asylums-Great-Again hi Anton
Thanks for feedback. However this guy posted this today:

It is an app for flying DJI drones. It is available on Google Play and Apple App Store. Website: flylitchi.com
Any restrictions regarding max distance to create waypoint ( e.g 500m) in old ver.
With the Mavic 2 zoom can you adjust the zoom at a way point ?

Next tutorial... setting waypoints for a hyper lapse & best camera setting for getting the best results
Just use the Hyperlapse menu to set your points on M2.
Very Nice bro billy
I can plot a course in waypoints 2.0 but it will not save. Any suggestions?
Now if only they would backport this feature to Mavic 1 :(
Hey Billy! My question is in reference to how much battery these sequences you shared took? I have heard that way points uses much battery time. Thanks.
How do you delete a saved waypoints you previously saved?
Jim in Missouri
Have you tried to save your mission(s) using an Android device?
Man this video makes me really want to get a mavic 2 pro just for that
Nice review of Waypoints 2.0, it is a really nice upgrade from Waypoints. But still not on par with Litchi.

Can you update firmware without nfz update
How do you get into the mission planning screen with the aircraft disconnected??
This! How do I do this?
Great video. But remember: if you save your flightplan, and want to fly it later. Takeoff needs to be from the same position, otherwise the altitude will be wrong ! :)

I thought waypoints were just for G.I. Joe type guys to plan “missions” and feel like they did some special ops maneuvers with their toy?
Huh?
waypoint poi wtf and diffrence ?
