Mike Love complaining about someone being in a lawsuit is rich, the man has filed at least 50 in his life, probably more. As much as I can't stand Mike Love the person, I will admit he is crucial to the Beach Boys success, between his vocals and he did write or contribute to a surprising number of BB songs. But man do I wish he could have left Brian alone during the Smile Sessions, maybe we would have gotten an official album back in 67.

If you haven’t seen it you should check out Carl attempting to confront Mike on stage around 1980 because Mike unplugged Dennis’ microphone. I believe it was at the end of the concert. Dennis intervened. Of the videos you showed, I think Brian’s facial expression at the end is just Brian’s older expression - I’ve seen him laugh with that expression…., but perhaps he’s not happy.
What is particularly unpleasant about Mike Love is his egotistical insistence that he is the reason for the positivity with the Beach Boys. Brian Wilson's music is the reason for the positivity with the band as Brian in essence is the Beach Boys. Mike has helped in writing some good lyrics but even with that; Brian often wrote much of the lyrics, then Mike would add his input. As a huge fan of both Brian Wilson, Mike Love and the Beach Boys, it was wrong to call out rival acts and say curse words at an awards ceremony. It wasn't a good look on Mike Love's part and had he didnt do this, his reputation would seem better to people analyzing the Beach Boys.

Just spoke with Jim Heath (guitarist and vocalist for The Reverend Horton Heat) two weeks ago, and he was totally like, "Aw, shucks." Lux Interior (singer of The Cramps) was apparently the same way. And from all account Lemmy (Motorhead) and Ronnie James Dio were really humble, too.
My least favorite Beach Boy. The guy has always had a chip on his shoulder and to mock Paul McCartney, Mick Jagger and Billy Joel, all guys with infinitely more talent than him, is embarrassing. Compared to the brilliant Brian Wilson, Love was a hack.

Mike Love has talent, I will give him that but that Ego is way way too high , Brian Wilson is the real genius of the Beach Boys and he is a humble, kind man.. Maybe Mike should take some tips from Brian about humility.

You have to have an ego (believe in yourself) to even get on stage, but I agree some rock stars are humble.
