I've been listening to a bunch of albuns that youtube recommends me, and I noticed two things: Majority of them are pretty unknown; I keep hitting the good ones!
Very underrated band right here. Why!? I have no fucking idea but i dig the fuck out of em. Have been for about 3 years. Glad to see new shit! Prost brothers!
You guys have a lot of potential. Been listening to metal for over 30 years and this had so many great elements to it. Seriously, most first albums aren't this good. Don't stop; keep going!
Every note and every second was thought of. Perhaps the only could be if the drums were more playful. Maybe more solos. Could this be the next Inferi? Only time may tell. 9/10 album.
Hey, I'm the drummer 😬😬 thank you for this comment, that motivates us a lot!! But can you give me an example of that you are telling about soloing or do more playful drums? 🙏🏻 I'm toooootally open to improve myself 😊😊 thanks again. Cheeers
@@YannAmarok Yann, I've had your comment in my mind for a while but haven't gotten around to responding. It is rare to see both someone taking criticism but also wanting to understand that criticism on their work. So as I write this, I will do my due diligence and give you my sole opinion on what I like to hear, but what I also believe would make a stronger sound. Firstly, I would like to you to listen to 3 songs. One raw black metal, one pure death metal, and one blackened death metal. 1. Lunar Spells - Praying for Redemption (Focus: Drums) With the first song (raw black metal), I would like you to really pay attention to the audio of the drumming. Notice how you can clearly hear the cymbals, the snare, and bass drum. It is not "mixed" it is raw. Also notice his drumming patterns and how he SELDOM relies on the bass drum and that it acts as it's own entity, not as a background instrument. 2. Wretched - The Stellar Sunset Pt. 1, 2, & 3 (Focus: Bass) This song falls more on the grounds of technical death metal. But the quality and the mixing is what I want you to focus on. Listen to the guitars, the drums, and most of all, the BASS. This is a top quality piece of music. Everything is audible, and the bass is very present and forward. Yet, in spite of bass being very audible, every instrument still has a spotlight. This is exactly what people would find pleasant and is far more powerful than simply raising the volume of the vocalist to "fill" the void. 3. Obsolete Theory - The Wood (Focus: Instrumentals and Vocals) Finally, we have the culmination of the two. In my opinion, having an instrumental in an album is very important. It firstly demonstrates that you do not rely on lyrics to create a story. In fact, music should be made with the instruments first, lyrics second. Secondly, it shows off the skills of the musicians. As a long-time fan of metal, I am still very biased against screams. Mostly because I think they cloud the playing of the song. Thus, I enjoy black metal more than any genre of music so that I may enjoy that aspect more. However, notice how the vocals are still present but are not the main focus. In fact, most of this song is instruments. Also take notice the dynamic of the vocalist and how it isn't growling/screaming 100% of the time. This is an extremely good piece of music. Both structurally and audibly. The drum isn't too overbearing, the guitars and bass overtake the spotlight, and the vocalist has time to speak only when the instruments allow. This is the way it should be. People will be more drawn to this kind of music if it weren't for the overbearing loudness of the vocalist which should NEVER be the center of extreme genres of metal.
@@theartisan1898thanks for that very specific answer 😬 I more or less understood what you wanted to tell me but I do some of those things in other bands, like for example, the first video reminds me a lot of atrexial. I think in the end I force myself not to sound like the same style of drummer in my three bands and that in the end makes me quite more limited, I guess. thanks for the recommendations and I'll keep that in mind next time I'm going to compose a beat 🙏🏻 PS: I loved that jazzy riff from the second band
@@YannAmarok Hey man, I have no expectations. It's just what I feel I like to hear. But know that a large amount of people enjoy the bass when it's isolated and enjoy the drums when it's free to have its own riffs. Hell, I would love a portion of your music to have a drum solo at some point. Who doesn't love drum solos? It's a lost art. Also bear in mind you will lose a large amount of audience if the vocals are louder than the instruments because that is reminiscent of death core, which I personally hate and people wont take your music seriously. blackened death metal is a more serious and artistic genre and should be made with that in mind as well.

Inferi is still kinda different. May I say, like a newborn Naglfar. There is quite much similarities with albums Vittra, Sheol and Diabolical. 👌🏻
