I hope this video will give you some insight into how to be a graphic designer and learn from some of my past successes, stories, and mistakes I made as a new designer.

Than you for speaking on not needing to be a great artist/drawer to work in and be successful in this field. I've always talked myself out of applying for a visual communications program for this reason and feel like a fraud. I'm not starting to see that unless you specifically are an illustrator or focus more on illustrated designs, you can either do work that doesn't require much of it or hire someone on to do that work for you. Thanks for mentioning this factor.

Awesome advice dude. I feel like I can apply a lot of this to music, Especially the share your work segment. I used to be super self-conscious about sharing stuff cause it wasn't "good enough" but I've been trying to practice Wabi-Sabi more. Nothing is perfect, nothing is permanent, nothing is ever complete.

another design software rec is inkskape! super awesome open source alternative to illustrator. haven't used it in a bit cause i now have a adobe subscription through school, but inkskape is really solid, and some parts are probably even better than illustrator imo
Yes! I totally forgot about Inkscape, I used to use it on my moms old laptop haha.

Great video as always, man. As a fledgling designer, this is some super useful advice, especially the point about doing a lot of work and trying to nail down a style. That's the phase I'm in right now.
