And I'm grateful they put them there so you can easily access the really important things like climate and radio without going through endless menus of the infotainment system and getting distracted from driving.
I have a 2018 Jeep Compass that I purchased with 29 miles on it. I didn’t even have the Jeep for 48 hours and it died at a stoplight. Although the dealership said it was a fluke because it was “too new” for any codes to show up. However almost a year later, dealerships have replaced several major parts and re-wired it, I still have a huge amount of electrical issues. Chrysler is unwilling to do anything about this Jeep. They said it’s all flukes even though I have given them videos and photos of all the electrical issues. When your emergency brake engages while driving, your backup camera does not turn on or off and the climate control system has a mind of its own and changes from heater to air conditioning. And the UConnect system glitching is an well known issue that Jeep and Chrysler know about and have not done anything to fix. I have taken a cross country road trip and it was comfortable to drive but there is a lot of issues, like you said, with storage. As far as the cruise control, my Sport does have it and came standard in mine.
Dude, seriously? Why the hell would you complain about physical controls for climate settings? Why include them? Because you can access them by feel while driving. You don't have to take your eyes off the road to navigate through menus and find the right spot on the touch screen to change your controls. It is way safer, easier, and more efficient to have the physical controls. You can also easily access them wearing gloves. If you are going to complain, then complain that the touch screen controls are redundant/not needed rather than the physical ones. Also, you just mentioned that the touch screen broke for a few days. Can you imagine how much worse that would have been if the only way to control the climate settings were via that broken touch screen? SMH
Right? Usually they complain about having to go through a touchscreen just to change the climate and wish they had physical buttons. Now this dude is complaining about there being buttons? Gimme a break!
I agree with you Sean. My 2016 Dodge Challenger has similar driver interfaces and controls as the Jeep . I love the knob controls that I can operate easily without even looking down . They are very well designed and feel great too . We had a Cadillac ATS that had no redundant controls....everything was through the damned screen that was hard to see due to glare and slow to respond to touch . Hated that damned system . FCA may be lagging on refinement in some areas but not with driver controls . They are great in that area .
Took one of these for a ride today. Very nice capable vehicle with a good ride and quality interior. Uconnect is top notch. FCA is on the rise IMO. The RAM truck is the best in the business.
Not sure why people are saying jeeps are unreliable, my mom has a 2015 jeep grand Cherokee yes it had some shifter problems but they did a update and its fixed, and still has it in 2018. I have a 2004 jeep grand Cherokee and its engine is strong as hell drove it all over the place
Mines horrible and doesn’t know what to do at times, revs unexpectedly and bangs into gears sometimes, feeling like someone hit you from behind plus many others issues. Luckily it’s a lease and it goes back in seven months
Because most people with a brain would rather operate the climate control through knobs instead of the infotainment center. Not sure what climate control has to do with infotainment. No idea why car manufactures continue to do stuff like that.
Important controls hidden within a touchscreen is a giant ergonomic FAIL. Good thing FCA didn't go that way--they need all the redeeming traits that they can get!
Tbh i prefer using the buttons and knobs to operate the climate control than via the infotainment. In the video, you mentioned the infotainment suddenly glitches without warning, hence a good thing to have physical controls for the climate system. Not redundant at all like you make it out to be.
I have the new generation compass 2017 latitude 4x4. I did not like the 9 speed transmission so i opted to get the 6 speed manual. It has been a great vehicle through 12,300 miles so far. No issues at all. I live in an area that get a lot of snow and drives through deep snow like its nothing. Great vehicle especially if you can drive manual. I've averaged 28.7mpg through all 12,300 miles including use of 4 wheel drive.
Jon-Scott Lutke I couldn't find the manual with leather. With kids, leather is so much easier to contend with accidental spilling of whatever. 🤣. But I wanted the manual because the 9-speed is so sluggish to me... I have the Trailhawk Compass.
I've owned a 12' grand cherokee since new and it's been rock solid...still seems new. From what I hear, the Grands and the Wranglers are solid, but I'd prob stay away from anything below those two. It seem like they put all of the love into the flagships.
Julio Coello Yo Julio have you ever owned a JEEP, or do you get all the info from consumer reports ? You look like the geek type person who comments on something they have never owned !

Wranglers are unmatched fun...stick to the older ones with fewer electronics and they are totally worth it. Really leary of anything built by FCA these days.
The new Compass looks incredible especially with the black roof option. I will lease one when my current lease ends. I do agree that Jeep needs to make spaces for storage more user friendly, the door pockets are almost worthless and there is no area for your phone. Make the sunglasses storage standard, it's really needed. Every little cubby space helps.
@@Yankeefann Well, we had an 18, 19 and a 20. 2 Latitudes, 1 Limited.. 20 model drove the best from a power stand point all same engines. We found them to be great vehicles. Great feel, quiet, good mpg. I am the wrong guy to ask about long term stuff. Wish I could help more.

Just dropped my Durango off for some issues. They have given me a 2019 Compass... while it's not fast it is far from slow slow. For the size and price it's fine. For most people the interior is probably more than decent material and quality wise. Plus the features are really good! I am enjoying the one in driving so far.... I dont need a 3rd row just liked the Durangos looks. May consider a trailhawk compass in the months to come...
Miles better than the last compass. That was an awful car from the start. Only thing you have to worry about with this is reliability and that damn 9 speed auto...EVERYONE has complained about it so I don’t know why FCA insists on putting it in every vehicle.
For 34+grand it should have the 2.0 Turbo. I like the look, but the ancient 2.4 is a big turn-off. Then I come back to price- lower trims are better values for sure, but 34,000+, the Grand Cherokee Laredo with a couple of options is the better buy.
Jeep’s look cool, but are NOT reliable. I have seen many 2018 Compasses back at the dealership with under 2,000 miles because of the extensive issues that they have, and that they are just not worth the cost, including someone I know personally.

Also, does the Jeep Compass depend it’s reliability if u exceed over 50k miles, before it starts to show issues
I honestly believe any car in this day and age, if taken care of and driven properly, can be very reliable. Obviously something like a RAV4 will generally be the superior vehicle in terms of cheap maintenance and fewer trips back to the dealer, because let's face it Japanese (and German) cars just have the superior build quality, but also keep in mind a fully loaded Toyota product will be basically double that of a loaded Jeep Compass for example.
This guy is giving this jeep a bad review, these are nice cars with good storage space and nice interior what are expecting for this price. Really I think you should stop giving car reviews and stick to toys or garbage cans

That engine is so weak. The 2L turbo optional engine would be amazing. Also if the car was built by Toyota, that would help alot. I do appreciate the redundant climate controls. Honestly, Jeep makes great products initially, they just don't hold up sadly.
I'm actually debating between this and a Chevy Equinox. This was SUPER informative and actually really helped! I definitely think I'll need to go with the Equinox for more room! Thank you for this!
Don't buy a Jeep Compass and here is why: Ever since I purchased my first 2018 Jeep Compass Latitud I've only had problems. First the start/stop did not work initially so I had to get it serviced. Fortunately it was under warranty. Second issue, I did not se any fuel consumption savings. This vehicle was promoted to give its owners over 30mpg. I've been averaging 20.1mg. Third issue, this vehicle has 2 batteries and the smaller battery died so my vehicle could not start and this isn't a normal battery that you can jump start or easily remove yourself and replace. My vehicle had to be towed to the dealer. Forth issue, now multiple warning lights are lighting up on my dash. For the recorder, I have done the recommended service checks and maintenance as per the manual and/or dealer's recommendations. The last check and maintenance was a month ago in which I paid just a little under $400 and now I'm back again.
Can we talk about when Craig Cole was lefted strained by Jeep Wrangler. It put an amazing life at risk and for that, I will never buy FCA. Unforgivable. Craig Cole walks on water

Looks like cheap paint with a couple extra shots of clear. If you are wearing beefy gloves you want those "physical AC controls". Lease only & during the manufacture sales events to milk the factory cash off.
Jeep: Just Expect Every Problem or was it Junk Everyone Eyes for Parts, or the old favorite Just Empty Every Pocket. Oh, the engine power? Just Enough Engine Power, Just stay away!
He says the automatic transmission hobbles the vehicle. Why is it so hard to buy a Jeep with manual transmission ? An automatic transmission is like masturbation. It's just a facsimile of the real thing.
Nobody is going to take this shitty Compass off road. The lack of power makes it a truly undriveable vehicle. It's almost scary merging onto an interstate since it takes SO long to get up to speed. There also should be an option to turn off the horrible start stop technology instead of having to remember to do it every time you start the car.
Those redundant buttons are in case your screen goes black
And I'm grateful they put them there so you can easily access the really important things like climate and radio without going through endless menus of the infotainment system and getting distracted from driving.

I think the redundant physical buttons are a big bonus - touch screens aren’t the best for quick basic climate adjustments while driving
In fact having important controls buried in software and a touchscreen is downright DANGEROUS.

yes, and JD Power...and every owner who has tried to return their Compass under the federal lemon law.
Rubbish! It's got 5 star in safety tests and the engine is one of the most well used accross the Alfa and Fiat range.
@@markcrupi i have no idea what bs consumer report and jd power say...i own a compass since like 6m and its been a solid vehicle without any issues....honestly i think its because of certain countries...where i live jeep is one of the most reliable car agents...i get all the parts on time and even repairing is done fast ( i used to own a wrangler before this)
That's a hole in my budget
Lmfao, my Honda Accord gets more horsepower than this thing and tows more. My Honda is from 2008. It’s the base model. (184 vs 180)
Jeep needs to be bought by TOYOTA.. styling is really good but reliability sucks.
love the suv
Buttons are good.
Yeah, I get it...JEEP
Jeep always feel like cheap plastic. Can they quality for a change?
Wonderful intro haha. Had me rolling! 😂
Will it keep away those waskally wabbits?
He says the automatic transmission hobbles the vehicle. Why is it so hard to buy a Jeep with manual transmission ? An automatic transmission is like masturbation. It's just a facsimile of the real thing.
Awethome! Jeep compathh!
Lmao
XD I think companies should stick to their signature models too. Just Go all out with wranglers and I don't care about the Cherokeths either. lol
So what I am hearing is just buy a Subaru Crosstrek.
And 4 cyl 180 hrsprs and 4700 lbs
is this a review or just you wanting to complain about everything about the vehicle?
Thks.
It's a Fiat with a jeep badge on it .
عادي انه من كتر ما حكى جيب حسيته عربي وفعلا طلع عربي 😂😂😂😂😂
Problem with this review is, an old man reviewing a car made for young people.
