Much appreciation from a 1964 boomer that grew up with N&W literally behind my house picking up coal cars at Kentucky Carbon Coal Corporation... brings back fond memories of my childhood.

The GP30 is my favorite locomotive no matter what railroad. Thank you for preserving this one!

Love it. I’m amazed by trains. I’m glad they decided to give this lady a new shot and keep her running.

Glad that hi-nose 30 has been preserved. We had a former Southern hi-nose 30, 2572, on our line in 1992. She was short nose forward without duel controls. Good unit, probably razor blades now. Curious about the ex-NKP 30, 2907, shown in this video if she survived. I believe 900 is at the NKP Museum in Bellevue. I saw 2904, its cab anyway, at Pilot Brothers in Chicago in 1992. Also 2901, either at Pilot Brothers or the dead line in Bellevue awaiting dispo.

I saw the first GP30's that NKP had when they first arrived. They felt like the future!

Belview... I wonder if 522 made a run between Belview and Buffalo (via Cleveland). I wonder if I've seen this unit in action (i grew up in Lakewood, where the line had two tracks going through the city (and its 20+ crossings)?
