If you go back and watch that episode, Ridge was only one concerned for Steffy. Brooke didn't care, neither did Hope and Liam as always said nothing. I am sure Brooke expected Ridge to leave with her, Hope and Liam when they left. Douglas leaned to Hope on his own. Thomas didn't force that. Did he encouraged it? Yes. No one is saying Hope didn't have a right to take her child but it was the manner in which it happened. Steffy didn't get a chance to process anything that happened. Everything happened in a matter of minutes. You are forgetting that Steffy was Beth's mother too. The issue wasn't Hope walking in and taking Beth. It was the manner in which it was done. No one gave any consideration for Steffy. If you go back and watch that episode, Ridge was only one concerned for Steffy. Brooke didn't care, neither did Hope and Liam as always said nothing. I am sure Brooke expected Ridge to leave with her, Hope and Liam when they left. Douglas leaned to Hope on his own. Thomas didn't force that. Did he encouraged it? Yes. He encouraged it because Hope gave Thomas solace and comfort. Both Thomas and Douglas were reeling from Caroline's death and Hope eased the pain. Thomas wanted Hope to be Douglas' mother but like he said he wanted that to be WITH him, not INSTEAD of him. Thomas never agreed for Liam to step in and play daddy. That was never part of the arrangement.

What she actually expected Douglas to remain with her. You don't want to be with his father but you still want the man's son. Does that make any sense. Also Brooke had no right to stand there and demand that Thomas sign over custody of his son to Hope. That's his son regardless. Thomas had good intentions behind what he was doing. Did he go about the wrong way? Yes I will admit that. His heart was in the right place but not his head. Thomas knows what it was like to not grow up with a mother and he didn't want his son to experience the same thing.
