I used to fish with my grandad when I was growing up, we fished in cattle tanks and Bluegill were pretty common catches, great times spent with my grandfather and great tableware they were scaled and heads off and fried whole with a pot of beans, cornbread and fresh onions and tomatoes from the garden, Lara ping good
This brings back memories. I'm from coastal Mississippi, and I would hit those bayous north of I-10 and rack up on what we call shell crackers here. I would pull up where they were bedding and have a field day.
My mother ain't throwing nothing bite. Her motto was if you big enough to bite, you're big enough to eat. Enjoy the outdoors with you guys. I sure miss my boat, hate I sold it. God bless
Nice work, I just ate a big Blue Gill dinner this weekend. Caught them all out of a little spring fed lake where my little family cabin is. 9-10 inchers just like when I was a little boy in that same lake. They are coming back and there is no better fish to eat but Gills and Perch. If you want to try a great way to eat them soak them in ice water until you fry then put a couple bags of "Andys Red" fry batter its got corn meal and some good Cajun flavor in the Red pull the fish out of the ice water shake them in the Andys then in the fryer until brown. You wont eat them any other way... great vid and thanks!

I think they should put some kind of limit on bluegill and other sunfish. I’m not saying as strict as trout maybe like 10 fish a day. I noticed where I live that I’ve seen people taking coolers packed with them all sizes. I would hate to going fishing and not be able to catch some sunfish I have fun fishing for them

You ain't got know Hellgramites for bait for them blue gills most people on here don't even know what those are hit me I'll tell you. We use those for deep water perch and blue gills deep water during the summer up north

From my experience on that lake I’ve seen striped hybrid bass feeding like the chasing shad to the surface making the water boil..take a reel with a small sliver spoon and through in that spot and get ready…..man I love bluegill fishing on that lake… FISHING ON FATHERS DAY IS GREAT…HAVING A UNDERSTANDING WIFE IS PRICELESS ..😁..great video.
