    Wonderful to see such humble but skilled practitioners. Uechi-Ryu was my first style of karate many years ago, and I miss it. Even though I've been practicing Shito-Ryu much longer than I did Uechi-Ryu (there's no Uechi-Ryu dojos where I moved to), I still practice my iron body conditioning, Sanchin, and focus on the self-defense mindset that I learned in Uechi-Ryu.

    Uechi-Ryu is not for the fainthearted. It is only for very serious practitioners, and not for those who seek a hobby.

    I am pretty sure I fought Kanji when he was in Boston with the late Kanmei Sensei way back..... He brought one of his sons to GEM's Summer camps and that's the one I fought. Great memories, and good to 'see' him again.

    i starter to learn uechi ryu at Malaysia since 7 years old followed a japanese senior who worked at Malaysia. After, seen he practice his style of karate, he teaches me since then. Now i am 47 years old. my japanese sensei (god father) passed away few years back. i really missed him and the technic he passed to me. His last wish was for me to go to Okinawa to continue the learning. I don't know if they would accept me or not.

    I always wish Ryukyu Karate will continue to connect with children and grandchildren, and inherit traditional culture that can be proud of to the world from a small island ‼️

    筋肉つけてプロテクター、力の戦い、空手着つけたキックボクシングは武道ではないように思ってます。伝統派は、腰の切れ、ゼロから百の力、技の追求、武道的精神勝ち負けなんかより、素晴らしい!

    Maybe a silly question, but I noticed they each only have two stripes on their belts. I’ve seen other guys online who have more stripes, yet these brothers are the heads of the organization. How could an outsider outrank them? Or am I misunderstood?

    • @evsta100
      @evsta100 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We should all go old school and just wear a white belt. The more you train the darker the belt gets. A little Febreeze and your good to go, lol. 1 stripe 5 stripes who cares as long as you train.

    • @BrysonKeenan
      @BrysonKeenan 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The stripes indicate their ‘shogo’ teaching title. One stripe for Renshi, two for Kyoshi, three for Hanshi.

    • @junbi4life112
      @junbi4life112 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BrysonKeenan No disrespect intended, but there is no red belt that the Hanshi wears in Uechi-ryu?

    • @karateover40
      @karateover40 ปีที่แล้ว

      The single stripe often represents 6th dan &/or Renshi title; They are head of Soke, that is the family system... but they did not inherit the lineage of being headmaster to Uechi-ryu. Kanei Uechi named Toyama Seiko Sensei as his successor. There is the black and white video on TH-cam that shows that happening.

    I developed my own martial art. I first run a few miles of trail in the wild, then climb in the wild then reach my dojo which is a clearing in the forest and there i train my techniques alone in any season. I am the funder of my own discipline.I don't need the comfort of a room indoor to train, i am used to train outdoor in the dense fresh air or in the hot summer air and i love it.

    ''教える''より、''学ぶ''が先でしょう... 手がまだ''ツルツル''だぞ...笑 新庄清秀先生に申し訳ないような感じ...では無いですかね... 本土''空手''や沖縄の''結社所属空手''ような''乱れ空手''に変化しないよう、お願いしたい... 私が知る限り、新庄清秀先生は未だに''本物の琉球唐手''ですよ...!🙇🏻
