In fact, a lot of the songs Yousuke composed/arranged for this and other scrolling shooters tend to lean more towards the arcade stuff.
Yousuke Yasui did score at least one game (Prodigy Racing) using the MOD format, so he might very well be familiar with tracker music classics like Crusader.
