A lot of people are forgetting about a couple of things, no start-stop, no cylinder shut-off. All the things that keep me from buying Ford or Chevy. Just a solid reliable maintenance friendly vehicle
Appreciated the review. Bout one last Tuesday 2017 Titan XD Pro 4X in the Cayenne red two tone with the diesel. Sure love the truck so far. Thanks again.
Great review. The torque is actually 401 ft lbs for the Gas XD. The 1/2 ton Titan is 394 ft lbs. Same 390hp for both. Probably a numbers game on paper.
Curious where you're getting your numbers. It's possible they goose it a smidge. A double check with the Nissan specs site does not break XD and 1/2 ton down differently, listing only 394 for the V8.
Strange. It's been listed as 401 ft lbs for the longest time. I just went to NissanUSA, and it listed 394 even for the XD. Nissannews.com still shows 401 ft lbs for the 2016 Gas XD. I'm betting they made a mistake on the main website. But yes splitting hairs at the actual output difference.
I have a 2017 Nissan Titan XD Pro-4x and so far so good. It does seem to chug the gas though. I get a variety of readings when I’m done driving through the ECO report and the best I can get is 16L/100km (sorry Americans I’m lazy to do the conversion).
"You'd be surprised at how many people don't take the time to discover different vehicles" That's because you have to deal with a bunch of sleazy pushy middlemen peddling these things. Most people just want to get the process over with as quickly as possible. Car manufactures should really revamp how their products are sold.
Nissan Titan XD has problems with driveshaft. The problem is caused by a "resonance frequency" that occurs at speeds above 75 mph. Vibrations caused by a condition that occurs in the power train systems at speeds above 75 mph and continued operation causes the transmission and driveshaft components to fracture. The problem is unnoticeable until it causes damages and the truck quits moving while driving. Also, truck can roll away if parked without the parking brake engaged.
Thanks for the response. Looking at the Canyon/Colorado Diesel vs. the Titan. The Pro 4X seems to carry a better price than the SL model yet it seems more refined. Hadn't looked at the Titan earlier, but with the rebates they're hard to ignore.
As of August 2016 GM sold 526,548 examples of the GMC and Chevy combined. Compared to Ford 527,847 examples of the F150. GM selling more trucks than Ford is a myth.
Titans are the most underrated truck on the market. Then and now. Oh and by the way Ram is not a American brand, people need to get that crap out of their heads. Ram is foreign owned.
Another great review sir. Well you went several videos without being a "nanny" so I guess you get a pass for reminding full grown adults that they should test test drive multiple vehicles before spending mid five figures. Still don't understand how its your responsibility to do so and for those of us who aren't stupid, it sure is annoying.
their bed boxes are accessed from INSIDE the bed? lol. what a terrible design. maybe they should have took dodge design for a bench mark...you know, outside the bed for easy access.
C Steele rams are a pos? Lol. This is a joke right? Clearly the titan quality eludes you... might I suggest a little research on your end of the last 12 years of Titan issues? And I'll end with your top of the line titan today uses a detuned smaller displacement cummins... yes a Dodge Engine . HAHA.
Winjury try looking up ram issue comparatively speaking. I've owned ram. From the crapy hemis to the death wobble to untraceable ghost wiring issues no thank you. Ram bahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh worst of the big three comes in fourth of the Big five
C Steele ahhhhh yes, the "well, from my experience...." lol. Funny how you can't address any of my comment but a broad stroke is what you respond with because of "your experience". Get out of here kid you make me laugh.
Unreliable. Mine has been in to service 6 times for issues. It's still in service at the dealership after it failed to start and continues to die on me while driving. Been there for a week and they can't figure it out. I'm stuck paying for a titan xd platinum while driving a Nissan Rogue. Never buying Nissan again.
A lot of people are forgetting about a couple of things, no start-stop, no cylinder shut-off. All the things that keep me from buying Ford or Chevy. Just a solid reliable maintenance friendly vehicle
One of the best formatted reviews I've seen on TH-cam. I look forward to seeing more!
Always great reviews from Tom
Hehe, bumper to tow hook. I like the word plays you include in your reviews Tom. No other reviewer does it quite like you :)
Just trying to amuse myself.
Appreciated the review. Bout one last Tuesday 2017 Titan XD Pro 4X in the Cayenne red two tone with the diesel. Sure love the truck so far.
Thanks again.
Are you still liking it? Any issues so far? I'm considering the Pro 4x....non hd and would appreciate the feedback.
A great review as always Tom!!! The best reviews on TH-cam.
Beautiful truck. Gonna get me one of these one day.
Wishes I would've got the xd! That extra 1ft in bed space makes a difference
Great review. My P4x came with a bed step. All p4xs do I think as standard. Maybe for 2017 they do.
I would love to have one of those titan XD Cummins trucks!
Hey Tom... good honest review, with a splash of good intentioned comedy. Thanks.
Great review. The torque is actually 401 ft lbs for the Gas XD.

I'm not surprised. That kind of thing happens from time to time. I do my best to sweat the details and now you have a glimpse of what can trip me up.

Not really digging the front end styling but I say that about every truck and they eventually grow on me
At least Nissan didn't stick a CVT in this, amiright?!
Nope. Don't give them any ideas.
I'm sure the idea at least crossed their minds.

I agree. Ever heard of Carvana?
And in regards of the TP trunk test, see his review of the Chevy Silverado High Country.
I like the sparkle from its paint
look! more places to stash g̶u̶n̶s̶ tools.
man you make me nervous
Hussein Omobola oh come on you’ll scare the liberals and millenials
@@skyisdlimit6125
No, more like all of the whiney, snowflake CONservatives who are scared of something they don't know. Lol
when dose the warrior concept truck come out?
end of 2020
Touché on the TP test comments Steve! 😆

Uh, okay. Ford, Dodge, and GM all have their fair share of problems. So...what's your point?
I’ve seen this comment from you on like 12 different vids
Great truck but smaller trucks are where it's at now. I think they should bring back the single cab short bed into the configurations.
A single cab Titan will be available shortly. While I prefer mid-sized models, full-sized pickups far outsell them.
Driven Car Reviews so would you say the Tundra outsells a Tacoma?
I'm talking about the industry as a whole
Driven Car Reviews well I do see a lot more full sized trucks then mid sized so you're right.
Driven Car Reviews but not with the short bed, only the 8’ bed! It’s too bad. I really like reg Cab short beds.
As I told another reviewer, will Nissan have potential truck buyers remembering this Titan?
If we're all being honest with ourselves... Dodge Ram destroyed last year, aesthetically speaking... They're just really pretty.
*great review*
Great review; I like your style👍
How is the ride on the road? Especially if you've driven the SL model.
It's comfortable, what you would expect from a modern pickup these days.
Thanks for the response. Looking at the Canyon/Colorado Diesel vs. the Titan. The Pro 4X seems to carry a better price than the SL model yet it seems more refined. Hadn't looked at the Titan earlier, but with the rebates they're hard to ignore.
Is this similar to the 2017 xd s??
As of August 2016 GM sold 526,548 examples of the GMC and Chevy combined. Compared to Ford 527,847 examples of the F150. GM selling more trucks than Ford is a myth.
Not a myth. Last chart on page lists total sales as of August 2016
news.pickuptrucks.com/2016/09/august-2016-pickup-sales-breakdown.html#more
That chart proves it is a myth. DUH! it confirms my numbers. The Ford F150 outsells the GM twins combined!
And alot of those sells are to our federal and local governments as fleet vehicles. I drive on at work and it sucks.
Larry Anthony Jr They both sell a lot to federal and local governments. I drive a F150 daily and it is brilliant.
mlamike who cares it's a pissing contest and the suckers lap if up like good little consumers
He said payload is a ton. But it says 939lbs in the text
Great review...get your camera sensor cleaned lol.
sweet looking ride me wants it
What is the GVWR for this truck ?
Titans are the most underrated truck on the market.

Ram is foreign owned.
$53K and no body color door handles?
Get Evil Twin to do the TP test on something like this!!
Dan Hall what is the tp test I'm hearing about. I don't get it ?
Hand of God force lmao

Chking a 17 out it better get more than 16 hwy or i wont buy it.
Yeah I'd still go with RAM
kdog18ful buy the extended extended warranty
It is more american than an f150
their bed boxes are accessed from INSIDE the bed? lol. what a terrible design. maybe they should have took dodge design for a bench mark...you know, outside the bed for easy access.
Winjury yah and u lose a ton of bed space. The titan boxes can come out. The ram ur stuck plus rams are pos
C Steele rams are a pos? Lol. This is a joke right? Clearly the titan quality eludes you... might I suggest a little research on your end of the last 12 years of Titan issues? Winjury also to note. Dodge does not own Cummins. Think......

Crap Interior, its already 2016!
kamigawa125 one of the nicest on the market accept the small radio. I'm not a big fan of it.
Looks like a chinese knock off of Ford F150.
