Well he might hurt himself. 1 or 2 of the top 15 panels on my youtube frontpage are always AI garbage these days, I'm annoyed by it, I'm not going to klick it unless I know the content creator from a time before they started using AI thumbnails - and I highly doubt I'm the only one. From youtubes POV this is prime realestate filled up with stuff thats not generating any ad revenue, so in the long run the algorythm will figure out how to detect these and stop showing them to me, which might hit mathil's videos in the crossfire.

The meteor phase of Arbiter is actual dogshit. It's like they saw how much we hated Maven's memory game and thought "we can make it worse." Mathil had 10k ES and it still insta-clapped him, Arbiter jumps around in a larger area so you can't always even see the meteors dropping off screen and Mathil has the insane Demon Form dodge and still struggled to make it to some of them in time.

@@tanis016 poison ignores ES, but cannot be inflicted on you unless you get direct damage to your life, which means your ES is completely drained and you're dead anyway. So poison is not a problem usually.
@@Warchoon Although this is true, there are a couple of interactions in this game that can poison as though hitting you without hitting you, like with gas cloud. But so far I haven't really noticed that so much on enemy's doing that to you, so maybe an afterthought for when they release new monsters.
How does this survive any chaos damage at all at that high level? Even with 75% resistance wouldn’t it still kill you with that little flat health? I want to do this build but I play HC and wondering how you survive chaos.
Did they buff essence drain? I tried it in the campaign, and while on occasion it felt nice, it was so reliably bad (especially on that ritual map) that I immediately quit and move on to ranger.
It was buffed by around 33% more damage last patch a week ago. I've been playing it with Chronomancer for a more defensive version but this Infernalist version is quite nice to scale damage much further.

@velizarhristov1838 i bet 1000% can save anything. hexblast have high raw damage so it is good to scale. thing is - daemon trades 150-300% spellpower from weapons and gets 900-1200%. having that high % mod u can skip all bs chaos stuff on tree (and u get like 150 from tree) and focus on defences utility curses etc. thats something only infernalist can do atm.

@@GE_Photon_Lord you can allocate 24 points that will swap automatically when you weapon swap. It was probably designed to let you do cool stuff like a fire staff and an ice staff or a melee weapon and a bow, but most people are just putting a bunch of curse effect on their weapon swap. Get 24 points of curse boosting on set 2 and 24 points of your main damage nodes on set 1, set curse to use weapon swap 2 and every other skill to use weapon slot 1. Massively boost your curse for free.

This build is a joy to level up. Three days to 90 and then it gets hard for me. Either I get resistances and loose some dps or got one shot from a random :/ At 91 lvl now and still having a blast.
The way your ascendancy is just shows how cooked witch ascendencies are. In bloodmage you have 4 required points and then ur going crit, in infernalist you have nothing to go except minion nodes or reserving health that you can't afford
I re-rolled my infernal witch at the end of act 3, I had barely any regen on gear I think like 7 life per second and couldn’t hold many stacks, but if you can find some cheap gear with life regen, you can switch whenever you can fight the degen
On all of my gear I have roughly 126 regen if not more (not at my pc to calculate), and I’ve been buying max rolled rubys with 15% life regeneration rate, I unspeced from the chaos nodes, and not really struggling with my mana regen so I took a few more jewel sockets on my tree and have almost 360 regen
I was starting to have issues with my mana with ED/contagion, plus I was getting really bored of it, didn’t like the clear. So now I’ve switched over to spark and losing a lot less mana and clearing the screen better
That essence drain chain map clear looks so amazing. Its possible you could slot another skill and do some minor tree changes to have a bosskiller skill. Spark DF and some versions of Hexblast DF have the ability to get to "no mechanics" DPS.
@ I've gone through every single troubleshooting idea to get the dog to work in demon form. Turns out it's uniquely a controller issue which is crazy, hope it gets patched soon
feast is in a bad place but ES feels exactly where it needs to be ... EV is also pretty good ... its just armour and life that are taking the L for some reason

Would ingenuity have any positive effect on this? Maybe allow you to run a different chest piece or achieve far higher stacks? Or is to low life not able to work
2 things: bleed bypasses ES, so how do we deal with that? Personally I swap freeze charm for bleed, cause it saves me more. I believe Jonathan mentioned a way to choose whether to enable or disable the buffs we get from campaign bosses. I used the 8% max life one from Candlemass (fml) so I hope there's a way to turn that off
Sigh, how many more times do we need to go over this : Bleed does not bypass ES, bleed can ONLY be applied to health, considering for DF you might aswell be a CI build, you're going to die long before bleed kicks in.

@@Auramus That just means if you start bleeding without ES and then regain ES, you will still bleed from your life. Also, there are items with "% damage taken bypasses energy shield" like Atziri's Disdain which would allow bleeding to be applied while having ES
I got stuck at lvl 40 with it, feels like I have zdps. Also I think contagion is bugged,for some reason it spreads essence drain AND despair curse at the same time. Feels like it has hex bloom attached to it from poe1.
If you socket the support gem which lets curses do chaos damage based on % of your int, then your despair would be a chaos DoT and contagion states it spreads all chaos dot effects. In other words, worked as intended.
I saw that contagion thing earlier in the league when I was trying out chaos. It's probably spreading the degen support that is tied to the curse. It just happens that the degen is a modification to the curse, not a degen that is applied at the same time as the chain. The curse is being pulled along as a side effect. When I was leveling, I had the degen on my enfeeble.

You can save one passive point if instead of pathing all the way to the top left if you use two passive points to get back to the middle then go straight up to the top with two more points. Right now you're using five points to get to that little group of 5 nodes that looks like a little dome.
I definitely see that ES is a bit too catered too in this game however I really do hope that they do something to fix the issues with the other defensive options before nerfing it so that they dont just leave us with NOTHING for fuck knows how long, I love this game but its kind of embarrassing that Armor is so bad and poorly calculated and just all around a tremendous fuck up Vs how armor worked in POE 1. I am however holding out hope that it was just an oversight and they didnt ACTUALLY intend for armor to be so useless in the game, like I thought they were trying to make melee better? LMAO. I do love the game tho, im just frustrated by the sheer state of defenses and Magic find rn.
Getting this number of demon stacks legit, without snapshot is extremely expensive though, youll need pretty much the best rolls on every items, im pretty confident most players will reach 100/120 stacks with their gear. And yea ed/contagion spread is still not as good as it used to be, it sometime look like it, but its actually very hard to get a good spread and basically happen only in breach/talisman, most of the timeits super clunky where your aoe is basically on part with the worst skills/builds and drain constantly your mana because it just don't spread. And the crazy part here is when you realize you need thousand of spell damage to make ed comfortable to use. The deamon is very fun to play though i hope they add a lot more of this concept, would love to play doriani with his jetpack in a future version for example.
Oh, please. All you need is high life regen and some es rolls. We can literally see him clear everything with 30-40 res and he can comfortably map with -20%. This is not a hard build to make.

This is a perfect test to see how the future of patches will go in this game....if GGG get back and the ONLY thing they do is nerf grim feast without buffing any other defence layer or giving viable alternatives, then that will just underline which direction the game is heading.
Anyone else having extreme performance issues? 3060 and a am5 5500 barely getting 40 fps no matter what settings or renderer I use.. EDIT: Found the solution! Make sure your graphics card is in the PCIE_E1 lane! Mine was not so I was unable to get dx12 to work whatsoever. Game is smooth as butter now.
I have a budget laptop with i5 and GTX 1650, I sometimes lag but might be due to Frankfurt servers. I have everything on high minus textures I think, 1 of the settings is locked on medium for me.
There's no way Altered Flesh isn't at least worth considering, even if it requires some effort to fix the resistances. Huge phys resistance from converting to chaos just seems really great once you can get there, and theoretically it lets you skimp a little on cold and lightning res as long as you can cap your fire res. I think once Grim Feast is nerfed and the build has to care a little bit about defenses, that's probably the best place to go.
Well chaos dmg is really not great to take on an ES build, it deals double dmg to ES. So all that remains would be fire dps and since the build is hard pressed to cap any res, thats just... not better.
@@tannermattingly4462 That node is very lame, you either go CI or not CI. If you go CI you get full benefits, but then the other nodes after it become uselles. If you don't go CI you take double dmg to ES for no reason.
This mapping gameplay look way more ''diablo-like' than ''souls-like''. do you think we'll get the real poe 2 end-game before launch in a year? or they are going to take the Blizzard approach and turn the game into POE classic?
They need to fix MF. Making (literally) 1000ex per map just doesn't compare to 3-5ex per map. I feel like I can't make actual builds right now, am just forced to playing coop MF in order to keep up with the broken economy.
Nobody is forcing you to play in a way that isn't fun to keep up with the economy, having fun is the point not printing infinite currency. If you enjoy the MF style more power to ya but otherwise just stop. Experiment with real builds and have fun if it makes 1% of the currency and you can't keep gearing up way past the point where it has actual impact that really isn't so bad. Yeah GGG could do a lot better design wise but you don't need to engage with the worst aspects like MF rat race economy and keep up if that isn't actually fun for you.
Funny thing is that you don't even have to engage with the economy, a lot of things are cheap and you don't need much anyway. SSF is working very well rn.

I tried Eldritch Battery + Mind over matter in low level but found it to be way less tanky. And mana is harder to stack compared to ES.

It is. It does double damage to es instead
Poison does go through though, usually you stack so much hp regen you can regen through it.

The uniques are cheap and you should be able to get 150-190 life regen total with 20 exalt, your resists will probably not be great though.
The non uniqie items are very expensive at the moment if you want ES ok resist and hp regen since demon form builds are popular atm 😢
It's either play ES or just die, those are the 2 options

First time I booted up PoE2 I picked contagion and wished poe1 contagion worked like this.

If you want to solve DF problem, get as many jewel slots as u can and socket rubies with 2% max fire res, about 5-7 is enough

11 sockets working on going for my 12th rn, have 337.4 regen and start taking damage around 310 stacks

@@Auramus That just means if you start bleeding without ES and then regain ES, you will still bleed from your life. Also, there are items with "% damage taken bypasses energy shield" like Atziri's Disdain which would allow bleeding to be applied while having ES
I got stuck at lvl 40 with it, feels like I have zdps.
Also I think contagion is bugged,for some reason it spreads essence drain AND despair curse at the same time. Feels like it has hex bloom attached to it from poe1.
If you socket the support gem which lets curses do chaos damage based on % of your int, then your despair would be a chaos DoT and contagion states it spreads all chaos dot effects. In other words, worked as intended.
I saw that contagion thing earlier in the league when I was trying out chaos. It's probably spreading the degen support that is tied to the curse. It just happens that the degen is a modification to the curse, not a degen that is applied at the same time as the chain. The curse is being pulled along as a side effect. When I was leveling, I had the degen on my enfeeble.

Pretty sure contagion states it spreads all debuffs. Which is both DoTs and also Despair in this case.
You can save one passive point if instead of pathing all the way to the top left if you use two passive points to get back to the middle then go straight up to the top with two more points. Right now you're using five points to get to that little group of 5 nodes that looks like a little dome.

I definitely see that ES is a bit too catered too in this game however I really do hope that they do something to fix the issues with the other defensive options before nerfing it so that they dont just leave us with NOTHING for fuck knows how long, I love this game but its kind of embarrassing that Armor is so bad and poorly calculated and just all around a tremendous fuck up Vs how armor worked in POE 1. I am however holding out hope that it was just an oversight and they didnt ACTUALLY intend for armor to be so useless in the game, like I thought they were trying to make melee better? LMAO. I do love the game tho, im just frustrated by the sheer state of defenses and Magic find rn.

Getting this number of demon stacks legit, without snapshot is extremely expensive though, youll need pretty much the best rolls on every items, im pretty confident most players will reach 100/120 stacks with their gear. And yea ed/contagion spread is still not as good as it used to be, it sometime look like it, but its actually very hard to get a good spread and basically happen only in breach/talisman, most of the timeits super clunky where your aoe is basically on part with the worst skills/builds and drain constantly your mana because it just don't spread. And the crazy part here is when you realize you need thousand of spell damage to make ed comfortable to use.
The deamon is very fun to play though i hope they add a lot more of this concept, would love to play doriani with his jetpack in a future version for example.
Oh, please. All you need is high life regen and some es rolls. We can literally see him clear everything with 30-40 res and he can comfortably map with -20%. This is not a hard build to make.

@paulbairstow4433 doesn't matter, the degen doesn't kill you, it just takes you to 1 and takes you out of demon form.

This is a perfect test to see how the future of patches will go in this game....if GGG get back and the ONLY thing they do is nerf grim feast without buffing any other defence layer or giving viable alternatives, then that will just underline which direction the game is heading.

EDIT: Found the solution! Make sure your graphics card is in the PCIE_E1 lane! Mine was not so I was unable to get dx12 to work whatsoever. Game is smooth as butter now.
rx 7900 xt , which is around 4070 TI Super , 70fps max without frame generation, mid settings, in maps drops to 50. Its ridiculous how low it is
i5 12400f with rtx 4060 and it drops to 50 and im not in maps yet, just playing around with srs
I have a budget laptop with i5 and GTX 1650, I sometimes lag but might be due to Frankfurt servers. I have everything on high minus textures I think, 1 of the settings is locked on medium for me.

Yep, ryzen 5 5600x 6700xt. 32gb 3600mhz ram. Can play modded skyrim lorerim pack at 60fps, but can't run this at a stable fps. Poor optimization.
There's no way Altered Flesh isn't at least worth considering, even if it requires some effort to fix the resistances. Huge phys resistance from converting to chaos just seems really great once you can get there, and theoretically it lets you skimp a little on cold and lightning res as long as you can cap your fire res. I think once Grim Feast is nerfed and the build has to care a little bit about defenses, that's probably the best place to go.
Well chaos dmg is really not great to take on an ES build, it deals double dmg to ES. So all that remains would be fire dps and since the build is hard pressed to cap any res, thats just... not better.
@@tannermattingly4462 That node is very lame, you either go CI or not CI. If you go CI you get full benefits, but then the other nodes after it become uselles. If you don't go CI you take double dmg to ES for no reason.
With uniques you are running chaos is the only resist easy to cap

I'd put money that they make it so everyone has to do boss mechanics going forward, its absurd the hardest part of the game is act I normal.
They need to fix MF. Making (literally) 1000ex per map just doesn't compare to 3-5ex per map. I feel like I can't make actual builds right now, am just forced to playing coop MF in order to keep up with the broken economy.
Nobody is forcing you to play in a way that isn't fun to keep up with the economy, having fun is the point not printing infinite currency. If you enjoy the MF style more power to ya but otherwise just stop. Experiment with real builds and have fun if it makes 1% of the currency and you can't keep gearing up way past the point where it has actual impact that really isn't so bad.
Yeah GGG could do a lot better design wise but you don't need to engage with the worst aspects like MF rat race economy and keep up if that isn't actually fun for you.

Funny thing is that you don't even have to engage with the economy, a lot of things are cheap and you don't need much anyway. SSF is working very well rn.
@@saberaxe It's easy to say that and have that perspective but when you can't gear up enough to beat pinnacle bosses without using one of 3 meta builds and utilizing MF setups then there's really not much else do with the game than put it down and wait for those systems to be improved.
