    If I were in charge I would reprofile Goliath into a giga by making it taller, the drop much steeper, and have more airtime hills. I would personally use the Golden Bear Theater plot of land for a new log ride that I would theme to Yosemite Sam and bring back the name, Yosemite Sam Sierra Falls.

    We need to get you out to SFMM. That line-up is a lot stronger than you are giving it credit for. X2 and Twisted Colossus are one of the stronger Top 2's. Tatau, Wonder Woman, Full Throttle, Batman, Apocalypse are all strong coasters as well. Not sure if the Giga is going to fit in that spot.... unless RMC TREX? 3 RMC's for one park!?!?! The Tilt coaster fits in with the SFMM model. They like to do extreme, very intense coasters.

      @ThemeParkPredictions A launched Vekoma family coaster would work great running Gold Rusher's layout backwards. Replace the current brake run with a launch out the station, add a double-helix hill about 80 feet tall, drop down, do some swooping turns around the mountain and under Superman. Then, do a small boost to hop over the current 2nd lift hill, run through a double helix by Full Throttle, drop down where the first lift is now, and turn into the brakes / final turnaround. Would work very well for families looking for a thrill without overshadowing WCR.

    My best guess is that this land will be used as part of a Giga coaster project, but I don't think the layout presented is likely. Instead, I'm thinking the giga might replace Ninja and stick entirely to the hill, then the flat portion at the bottom will be used for a kids area expansion. Unless they go for the world's largest, I don't see a dive coaster as likely at SFMM as it wouldn't add much to the park, and I personally suspect a tilt coaster may be saved as a Viper replacement that will likely be the park's next big coaster project after this one.

    Am I the only person who feels uncomfortable with Vekoma Tilt coasters? Disconnecting track makes me think of the possibility for derailing. Drop tracks and switch tracks remove the connection of track while a coaster is in circuit, but they do it on flat track. If for some reason, while tilting, the brakes or whatever is holding the coaster to the track fails, the coaster will derail and crash. I realize that the systems that keep rollercoasters are brilliant and extensive, but I just get the creeps looking at a roller coaster where down track of it, there's no connection for a bit of time. Or what if it doesn't align properly before releasing the brake. I know that it should be safe, but it still creeps me out.

      It wouldn't release if it wasn't aligned properly. There's a sensor that has to give a green light before the release. Everything you just described is the whole thrill behind a tilt coaster...the tilting part lol

    A Big Bear Mountain ride would work at SFMM as a replacement for the Gold Rusher. Gold Rusher is slow, clunky, and not comfortable. A Vekoma could use that space very nicely.
    I love SFMM and have been going there since the mid 1970's. I think a Mack Extreme Spinner, as good or better than Ride to Happiness, would make the most sense to fill the existing park line-up. A tilt coaster is just a gimmick followed by another looper and does little to the line-up. X2 already offers a faceplant drop, and you can get a dive coaster nearby at Knott's and SeaWorld. A giga would be a terrific addiction, but would SFMM pay the price for it?

    I'm putting my bets on the B&M Dive Coaster like Dr. Diabolical's Cliffhanger. The reason is twofold.
    Firstly, the construction signs blocking off what used to be the entrance to the Golden Bear Theater have this weird mechanical bird on them. I've never seen that bird before at the park. It definitely reminds me a lot of the mechanical owl from the preshow for Cliffhanger.
    Secondly, the park recently updated all of their computers(at least the food service ones) and they all now feature Dr. Diabolical's Cliffhanger as the screensaver.

      Pure and utter nonsense per usual. Cedar Fair management is running the chain come the 2024 merger. They don't do majors coasters in short order and SFMM needs a ton of stuff, starting with a complete revamp of food service and new higher capacity restaurants like the ones all the major Cedar Fair parks have received recently. Park also need major aesthetics, maintenance spruce ups and logistic and staffing. The kids section os also essentially non existent, look for a near term investment in that too. CF is going to actually do the premiumization that Selim failed at and that means a lot of quality of experience stuff and coasters less, 4 yr intervals.

    • @TP_Recommendations
      @TP_Recommendations  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Actually no, #1, the merger isn’t even finalized yet. Not until 1st quarter of 2024.
      And at that point - whatever major rides and any coaster that’s planned for the parks would have been set before the merger.
      So whatever SFMM is planning in 2025 - the merger will not effect it

    • @MCQ-fq6bv
      @MCQ-fq6bv 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@TP_Recommendations Per usual you haven't any idea what you're talking about.Yes, it will, both chains already started planning for this in early 2023. This merger was in talks late 2022 and was full on talks by Jan 2023, that has been revealed. They knew this was happening for sure by May/June, though not announced. Things each chain did subsequently in 2023 and going in to 2024 were about prelim integration. ie...Cedar Fair changed it's pass system and lowered the cost for all parks to just about $200 to $205. Why? to lower the gap between CF and SF all parks. SF finally started offering all park flash pass to test run the interest for the eventual integration with Cf's all park fast lane. I can name a half dozen other things that show clearly each moving things towards the other for the merger.

    If it's on that plot, something where terrain is used would be awesome. Helix by Mack did that, and I have thought something like that on the hillside at SFMM would be a great choice, especially something visible on the front side. Not even close. MM has a mid lineup. Nothing is really a standout, although people act like the overrated X2 is a standout. I guess if you like your head banged on the headrest. To have 20 coasters....and THAT'S their lineup...it's kind of lame. They should replace a couple before building new. Gold Rusher, for example, needs to go away. It sucks and a multi launched family coaster like Great Bear Mountain in its place would be awesome.

      @@RA-hx9uc Yeah it's comments like yours I don't understand, X2, Tatsu, Full Throttle, Twisted Colossus, West Coast Racers, Superman, Wonder Woman, etc are all elite coasters, most the best of their kind. Gold Rusher is a classic arrow mine train and is exactly what it should be.

      @RA-hx9uc 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @devinschroath I do not consider any of those elite. Flying coasters are a gimmick I don't enjoy, so Tatsu is not that great to me. Twisted is nowhere near elite or the best of its kind. WCR and FT are not elite launch coasters. Just because it's old doesn't mean gold rusher is any good. Superman is mid. It's not even worth a wait. X2 is rough in the 2nd half. I personally think Apocalypse is better than all of those except TC. There are multiple better versions of each of those elsewhere. For instance, even though I don't like flying coasters much, Manta at Seaworld Orlando is better than Tatsu, in my opinion. Cedar Point, Kings Island, Hersheypark all have better collections, just for a few examples. All of it is subjective, of course, but hopefully that helps you understand my comment. And living in L.A., MM is one of my home parks.

Park skylines are NOT to be ruined when you have a dozen MASSIVE coasters already. Over Georgia could do this with Goliath because most of the layout ran outside the park and Georgia Scorcher was less popular than Batman The Ride and Superman Ultimate Flight. If Magic Mountain is getting a giga, it'll happen when Six Flags closes Goliath and Titan, ordering two near-identical B&Ms without MCBRs at s discount. They'll be about the length of Orion, but with more turns.

      Fiesta was the first SF park to get a B&M Dive. It’s likely that SF my be interested to give one to other parks like SFGAm and SFOG as it is very marketable and is likely B&M’s cheapest model they offer.

    They gotta make magic mountain look like a amusement park and not abandoned park

    • @zacg_
      @zacg_ 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Overall it's one of the better looking Six Flags parks but they do need to go through and get rid of abandoned structures (or fix them up and use them) and continue area refurbishments. But it does have some pretty decent areas. Great America and Fiesta Texas have overall better appearance but Magic Mountain still does better than most of the others in the chain when it comes to appearance.
      My biggest beef with the park aesthetic (other than Scream having the worst placement in the chain) is the fact that they don't refurbish the Sky Tower. That's just aggravating.

      @@zacg_thank you this is a fair take it's definitely not that bad looking park it needs improvements nobody arguing that but this guy with abandoned park how else could he say without saying he obviously never been there before. I also wish they would get the tower open again but more then anything they need some shade and to hire enough employees to run it

    Here’s what I think is going to happen in 2025 coaster wise for six flags. Great America has their anniversary in 26’ so I don’t see them getting a coaster. I think Fiesta is a prime candidate. Magic mountain with all the problems they got I would say no. You can rule out over Georgia but not great adventure. They’re taking down the arena next to Medusa and a multi launch will go there. Since flash was last minute they’re getting to build a coaster they really wanted to have. Every other six flags park is a flip of the coin.

    I do like that layout you showed if this was to be a giga. Magic really does need a hard hitting coaster. X2, Tatsu, Viper and RIddler are my favorite coasters at the park everything else is ok. A dive coaster would be awesome but it would have to be big since seaworlds dive coasters is only 4 hours away. A Tilt would be a cool coaster to have but i rather them get a good size Axis coaster first. I would love to see a Mack Xtreme Spinner coaster come to magic that would be amazing but i know that will never happen sadly. Magic is my home park and I am excited to see what replaces the theater. Im just hoping its not a clone lol.

    Sorry, not sorry to break it to you, but SFMM isn't getting a coaster in 2025. The first thing Cedar Fair's management will be running things post merger( CEO and CFO) is invest in the multitude of deficiencies of SFMM. That starts with actual better dining and higher thru put dining. They will surely get a restaurant like Farmhouse or Coney's or Backbeat with the duel side food serving that can serve a large number of people per hour. SFMM like all SF parks have ridiculous long food lines b/c of logistics and poor staffing. I wouldn't be surprised to see 2 restaurants in 2025 at SFMM, while closing a bunch of the walk up food options with poor thru put. The other thing they will get in 2025 is likely aesthetic changes, clean the park up, etc... Park doesn't need a coaster and CF management is not into quick sequence of major coasters, they just got several coasters in quick time frame, the next coaster will be 2026 at the earliest. The kids section is also essentially non existent, look for a near term investment in that too, besides food/restaurants.

      @@Johnnyiswhere Wrong, you do know the merger was in talks since Jan 2023 and a bunch of things that each did in late 2023 and for 2024, even pre merger announcement fit that goal of integration. They knew this was likely happening by May/June, though not announced till November

      @@Johnnyiswhere This cleaerly beyond you as you have no experience in finance. Why? to lower the gap between CF and SF all parks to make integration easier. SF finally started offering all park flash pass to test run the interest for the eventual integration with Cf's all park fast lane. I can name a half dozen other things that show clearly each moving things towards the other for the merger. Once a merger is agreed each starts integration and consulting on decisions. CF management isn't going to allow Sf, poor finances already blow up their finances in the last year to come into the merger even as a bigger albatross than it already is for CF and it's management team. SFMM silly fanboys as yourself are going to be crying when SF doesn't get a coaster in 2025.

      @@MCQ-fq6bv This take has to be a joke right? Coasters are planned years in advance. Six flags isn’t just going to stop everything because the deal could’ve fell through. Also CF isn’t canceling project’s already in motion because if you actually go to the parks you would see that progress is being made. Also CF would be losing money if they just straight up cancel them at this stage. You clearly have no idea what you’re talking about.
