I was just thinking the same thing lol he was saying my inner thoughts. But what I actually say is a quick "is that good?" After I confirm the picture was adequate, I'm gone.

God so true! Like, I'm standing there, with their phone, my mind goes blank and I need to remind myself how to take a fucking picture. What background do they want? Should I zoom in? As an INTP I usually just stop rambling as soon as possible when I realize that people aren't really interested in more information that I
think is important for the purpose of the current communication.
Then I say something like "ah never mind" with a learned set of voice and body language that has the least awkward effect.
It happens pretty frequently, but I have had quite the success in suppressing my urge to clarify very specific Ideas and lines of thought.
The window of time for brief conversations is completely dwarfed by the bandwidth of thoughts that we want to convey. (if we are interested in the topic)
Not to mention socially acceptable talking speed limits, staying coherent, having to give other people their time to talk etc.
We often have to compress a massive collection of thoughts and information we want to express into a one liner, which is very hard to do and it takes time.
Being slow to respond, sharing too much information, saying unreliable sh*t because our answer was rushed can easily make people dislike you.
and if people dislike you, it's gonna be a pain in the ass every time you have to deal with people.
You can easily get fired or rejected if you have no self restraint.
I can handle suppressing my urges, but it's really tiring to do.
And people still wonder why I spend so much time alone and don't want to interact with them.

Amanda W. Something else with ESTJs that’s interesting. They’re great readers of people. Spot on, in fact. They’ll seldom get fooled, or swindled. As an ENFJ, I always see the best in people, which can be a great attribute, but not always.
I agree - ESTJs are very sharp and good at sizing up people! Unfortunately ENFPs are more imaginative than practical and we are notoriously unreliable, so having an ESTJ parent can be brutal for us haha. I love ENFJs, you guys are amazing friends and colleagues.

Because college Psych classes are actually terrible. I'm sorry, but until you get to a Master's level, maybe even a PhD level, there's nothing but Wikipedia information in those classes. It's scary to think there are so many registered psychotherapists and counselors who are certified on just basic Wikipedia and DSM knowledge...

As an ISFP, I once followed a tiger swallow butterfly around for twenty minutes to get the perfect picture, and I'm still disappointed it only stood still for me in the dirt road (not a ROAD road, just to clarify) and not on the grass, which would have been so much more aesthetically pleasing.
Lol my ESFJ sis always OFFERS to take strangers’ pics. I, on the other hand, get mildly irritated when asked haha

I appreciate people who offer to take a group shot photo.. but I also get totally suspicious and wonder if I could chase after them if they intend to steal my phone/camera.

Sorry for this poem, if you haven’t got much time or/and don’t give a f**k to read this I can understand, I just wanted to share an experience.
Today my teacher sent me to buy her a water bottle at a vending machine near to my classroom. It was a vending machine I’ve never used in my life, yet the only one difference was that you had to just press a button before entering the number. I didn’t know that and after I saw the water bottle not dropping after entering the number, I panicked so much, thinking I had just wasted *my teacher’s* money, but after some help offered by a random student I managed to take that bottle.
An hour later, another teacher asks me to take him a water bottle.
I thought: “Come on Lux, you can do this for once!”
I walked proudly to the vending machine, entered the number, then remembering that I entered it without checking if there were any water bottles left (hint: there were *not* any).
After 3 minutes of thinking how I could ask for help to somebody (without actually asking anybody anything relevant) and completely in mental-breakdown, I see the guy who fills the vending machines everyday coming; I firstly thanked my Luck and then explained him what happened. Thank to God he was very kind and handed me a water bottle.
All this because I can’t fricking manage to use things I’m not used to deal with.

I usually stress about my photo skills being rejected, and upsetting the other person, ruining their day, and forever being remembered as ruining the photo when they happen to look back at that photo in the future. "Oh remember this day, what a shame that person ruined the photo, ruined the best day of our life."

INTJ, the one time I was asked to take a photo was some strangers at dave and busters. I said sure took maybe 2 photos and went on with my day, felt weird that someone would ask a stranger to take their photo.

I'm watching and waiting for the INFP and wondering what I do specifically because of my personality while taking a photo.
It gets to INFP and I immediately smiled and started nodding because that's almost exactly what I do.
Yeah, I remember taking an off center picture of a couple once to create a golden ratio in the picture for dynamics, and explaining it to them. They must have thought I was cuckoo.

My ISTJ friend and I (ENFP) were having a discussion about this yesterday and it was actually very interesting, so I agree!
As an ENFP I totally sometimes take way more photos and ask way too much question than I should, i want to know what they want to achieve with the photos and would take like a million pics with different angles and stuff and sometimes when I wanna take more for them or about to offer something they will say thank you and walk away-but reflecting back, it’s def my tendencies of me wanting people to like me and the whole “ I do what I want people to do for me “
im always astounded by how your energy completely changes for each type you do! your esfp always immediately feels so warm and animated when compared to your ponderous, dejected intp.
Legend has it that when the ISTJ was eventually happy with the image composition and took the photo, he looked at the picture and realized in horror that the photo showed nothing but the rotting corpses of the people who had asked him to take their picture, but who by now had died of old age.

As an infj, I really enjoy taking pictures and photography. I think it’s so cool to see balance in colors and shapes. I also think contrast in details is very cool.

I think yes, a person can fluctuate between two different personality types. Someone can definitely use certain different functions equally from the start, but as we develop, we learn to use other traits, and who knows what someone's personality can turn into provided they continue challenging themselves and learning new things. Hope that helped!

Can you please do MBTI as kids? I just get confused and type all kids as INFP because I relate to their imagination skills, but I know they aren't all one type.
Children don't usually have their types fully develop and thus will very flexibly express themselves. However, the dominant function may be the most notable concerning their MBTI type.

Hey ...as an INFP-T ( turbulent) i would be panicking the entire time ..when I would hand it back i would ask for reassurence or say' i tryed my best..i Hope its ok" because as Infp's we have High expectations of everything and anything we do Always seems wrong ...even something simple as taking a picture for someone. KomodoDojo I think it depends. Friends and even casual acquaintances - YES! Someone we’ve just had a spontaneous conversation with - possibly. Totally random stranger asking for a photo - far less likely. We size people up really quickly. If people seem open and interesting/interested, we’ll totally chat them up. But we take our social cues from the “audience” as it were😉
