My first TH-cam comment it’s long but I had to. @Sylvie I know you’ll enjoy this. 3 years ago. I just landed in Phuket after flying, traveling 30 plus hours (not sleeping). I needed some new shins so I stopped by Tiger Muay Thai (it was close to where I was staying) and I had no brain cells to scooter around and find cheaper gear. I needed to sleep! As I’m checking out this (for lack of a better term) majestic, good looking, man child, shouts in Thai-glish “han-sum boi no training today?” He was taunting me because I think he picked up on I was buying gear and leaving, not participating in the class that was about to start at noon. But taunting in a way a lifelong buddy would. Remember I’m a full 30 plus hours of no sleep and airplane food which I try to explain to him with the language barrier and he wasn’t having it. “Let’s go, no class, I teach you”. Basically, I’m slowly realizing this sly guy is a Kru and wants to do a private. Come to find out he also just arrived to start working at Tiger and clearly didn’t want to sit around waiting for the pro class (where he taught with others) before I knew it I was wrapped up, on the matts. (Wtf this boyband looking guy just hypnotized me) it’s 95plus degrees 151726% humidity. Now, I’ve trained MT & KB on and off my whole life in the states. I was 26 at the time. Fairly, I’d say I’m intermediate - so I thought. What I learned in round 1 from this funny/bad ass dude was equivalent to 5 years of training back home. This private changed my life, and how I thought moving forward. It was like ancient wisdom and philosophy being downloaded onto my sleep deprived brain, but not with words (because of language barrier). This one moment in time paved the way for all of the training to come the next two months. Arguably, responsible for any of the sparring rounds I won across phuket (I lost a ton too not bragging) it was like he knew me forever and all of my bad habits but also knew how to correct them without stopping the flow. He kept saying good, good but too strong, RELAX. That led to what is now my mantra for life - “HANSUM BOI” he would imitate me in my fight stance, all tense then say HANSUM BOI! Then imitate me being more chill/relaxed. I like to say he hypnotized me because that’s what it felt like. Before I knew it, I’m now feeling slick and calm as ever learning insane forward movement with knees and elbows. I was ALIVE! All the jet lag, no sleep, was non existent. He had me cracking up the whole time too. We got to chatting after the sesh about golden age and styles he was happy I had some decent knowledge (thank you @Sylvie!) only to find out this comically random guy was non other than the legend NAMKABUAN. I tried and tried to get a private again the next two months but of course word was out the legend was fully booked every Fn day. I can not express enough the magic, the timing, the me being so lucky, so fortunate to have stopped for shinguards. NAMKA, legit changed my life forever. “HANSUM BOI!” is what I call on whenever life or any situation with training starts to overwhelm me. And that is something I’m forever grateful for. RIP to the sly legend. 🥹 And as always thank you Sylvie for all that you do for Muay thai.
I'm really glad you're releasing this to public so it reaches more people. I had seen it in the Muay Thai Library but is always good to review and just your comments on looking back into this is more than worth it. You are the best. Thank you
I absolutely love how exited they are to show these beautiful techniques. Namkabuan's heart was in everything he did, and will shine on through many generations to come. That excitement in his eyes reall really shows how great it was to be there. That simply correct stance and footwork of his really makes things easier, and I'm so incredibly thankful that brought this to the attention of western people (including me). I'm broke at the moment but get paid in a few days and legit can't wait to join the patreon page and help support the channel. The love in this room for the art and work really shows.
i think dieselnoi is the only person in the world who i wouldnt mind kneeing me in the stomach with an angry face and kicking me while im curling on the floor cuz the guy's so passionate about the sport and funny
So much appreciation for you sharing this to the public and putting this together. Amazing to see some absolute legends show how passionate they are and props to you for narating all of this for us. Definitely becoming a patreon and hopefully once I'm out there I could come train and learn a few things.
i've always wondered where they themselves learned these techniques, especially the clinch techniques. It doesn't come naturally to many. Is it just brute force learning where they were thrown into deep water during training and just had to figure it out on their own or did their traniners teach them like they are teaching us?
amazing video, already saw it on the patron but will watch again! Big ask but i dont suppose you know if the woman in the blue adidas top at 10:41 is the same that fought jackie butan on in ONE FC yesterday?

I would KILL to meet Dieselnoi and Yodkhunpon!
Such a great episode. Well done Sylvie.
Love how everybody looks super excited, yet simultaneously terrified when Dieselnoi clinches them.
Amazing Sylvie. It was so amazing to be involved in this. Hats off to you guys.
I love watching Diesel Noi he has so much passion on his demonstration
Sylvie love the videos... Also I train with Kru Augie Matias from MK MUAY THAI in Fairlawn NJ and he told me you used to train with them. Small world.
I like to think about the shoulder shift in the clinch as if you're trying to wedge yourself through a door that won't open
This is amazing Sylvie, thank you for all that you do in sharing this with the world!!
Beautiful introduction

Great stuff!
1:09:50 this is the most pro wrestling, badass looking move I've seen in muay thai
Thanks.
Dieselnoi knees like he was about to drown and just grabbed on to a boat. He's gigantic and full of urgency, a really scary prospect.
amazing video, already saw it on the patron but will watch again! Big ask but i dont suppose you know if the woman in the blue adidas top at 10:41 is the same that fought jackie butan on in ONE FC yesterday?
