"It's an interview I did with "Bob's Burgers" vocal stars Eugene Mirman, John Roberts and Kristen Schaal at a FOX interview day back in September. Calling it an "interview," though, may not be exactly right. Basically, I walked into a room and sat down opposite Mirman, Roberts and Schaal and held on for dear life. They sang, did impressions and went to some utterly absurd comedic places. Occasionally I asked questions, but that was less about establishing a line of inquiry and more about pushing and instigating their material.
Attempting to edit this video down would be pointless. There's no real beginning. There's no real end. And I'm not sure how many "answers" there are. But large chunks of it are hilarious. Or bizarre. Or... something." - Daniel Fienberg

I'm sure Louise and Gene showed up to this interview instead of Kristen and Eugene

I still think it must be admitted that _The Simpsons_ was very important for animation during prime time (with _The Flintstones_ setting the initial precedent). It may have happened anyway, but I think _The Simpsons_ really put it on the fast track to being more accepted as a more mature medium. Thank you, _The Simpsons_ (and Matt Groening et al), for being awesome and bringing us to a world in which we can also enjoy brilliant shows like _Bob's Burgers_.
_The Simpsons_ was also ten times better than itself at one point.

this show is hilarious---these people are comedic GENIUSES! I've always loved Family Guy, American Dad, Cleveland Show, and like the Simpsons--but as much as it surprises ME to say this, Bob's Burgers is the funniest, HANDS DOWN! I wouldn't change a thing about any of the characters--I hope they keep doing what they're doing for a very long time.

At around the five-minute mark we find out that the casting preceded the character development. When you think about it, this makes perfect sense: each of these people essentially plays themselves, and I don't just mean they use their usual voices. Louise is so similar to how Kristin acts here, but that similarity is dwarfed in comparison to (Eu)Gene. Absolutely uncanny.

I lost it @ 5:52 when Kristen as Gilbert Godfrey's kid screams "Dad, I'm wondering if you could sign my permission slip for a field trip!" ...they look like they're having such a great time and that really comes through when you watch the show.
Gene actually looks like gene.
Roberts is hilarious.
And I love Kristen,

I'm just so happy that it's 10 years after that interview and no one can call it "that failed show" at this point 😄

Crazy they had this much chemistry after one small order of episodes. I love the show even now but that first season was very Home Movies/O’grady-esque and was really a completely perfect season to me. The show changed very much to more of a typical cartoon just with better characters but still great.
Simpsons have been "jumping the shark" for years. This show is nice and fresh and might I say it's the best show on animation domination.

When I first saw this show i liked it but it wasn't any better than the Simpsons or family guy, in my opinion. But it's strangely addictive and the characters have slowly crept into my heart and now I live for it.

I never realized how much Eugene Mirman sounds like H. Jon Benjamin. I guess it's suiting since they are father and son in the show.

The only show that was as good as Bob's Burgers was Futurama (well, maybe it was even better than Bob's Burgers). Anyway, it's really awesome and I hope the universe gets canceled before the show, 'cause all existence would be meaningless without Kristen Schaal as Louise Belcher. The peak of history, the reason why we are here, where did we come from... The answer to all that is: Kristen Schaal plays Louise Belcher. Everything else is either part of a set of circumstances to make that fact possible, or is a consequence from it.
tl;dr: LOUISE FREAKING BELCHER RULES!!!!!!!

Love the interview first of all. Secondly, I LOVE this show. It's definitely my new favorite cartoon. The only drawback at all is that it's new so I have to wait a week between episodes and I'm very impatient. I love all the characters but I particularly love Tina and Louise. I pretty much laugh my butt off at anything either of them say. Two big fat thumbs up for Bob's Burgers!

I love Bob's Burgers! Where was Tina during this interview, they didn't even mention her like she was some red headed step child , the funny thing is in the pilot for Bob's Burgers Tina was a boy but then later changed to a girl.

This show is effen great.
They mentioned that they improvise a lot, if they were casted by someone who would allow them to improvise, then they are pretty eccentric people. Most improvisers have crazy personalities. Which makes them pretty much the most awesome people ever!

It so crazy putting character to face. I've seen all 3 seasons, and this is the first Interview i seen of them.
The Beltcher kids are TOTALLY moddeled after their voice actors. Hilarious. Check out 'Tina' as well.
I wish their interviewers could keep up with them. At least do their research. Lauren Bouchard produced King of the Hill which was on Fox, for years. I think their level of fuckery equals the level of clulessness of the person asking questions.
Love this show for 3-4 seasons and then it went the way they all do after popularity sets in...situation driven not character driven and therefore formulaic. Still watch my fave seasons on repeat though. Endless love for the insanely talented cast and the initial fresh family dynamic. 💗

Gene is my absolute favorite character on television. What I find so appealing is his indiscriminate enthusiasm. He can be thrilled by a napkin.

in interviews with multiple actors (especially this one) you can always see the young theater kid in the actors, what with their expressiveness and enthusiasm

Kristen is adorable, John Roberts looks vaguely like Jon Hamm when he's not wearing a wig and I saw Eugene Mirman at a Barnes and Noble once checking out a book about Presidents' dirty secrets--he's very nice.
