I think you mean how it's ironic that we refer to potential intelligent life forms off of earth as "aliens", when from their perspective we'd be the aliens. Now that I think about it, this movie says a lot about society.

Technically speaking, both of them are aliens from their point of view. Chuck is on an alien planet so everyone is an alien to him. However, he is not from their planet so that makes him the alien.
Yeah as much a this wasn't a knockout movie it wasn't bad. It just squandered the premise for a cheap money grab. At least it wasn't as bad as Escape from Planet Earth. How Escape from Planet Earth got a better critic reception is beyond me.

I feel like this movie would’ve been better if the astronaut by didn’t talk the entire time and was hidden behind the helmet. It would’ve been a really interesting dynamic
